David Clayton-Thomas – Tequila Sunrise 1972 (Canada, Blues,Folk Rock)
As a son of a fan of Blood, Sweat & Tears I've been hearing David Clayton-Thomas' voice for all of my life. This is the 2nd solo album he recorded after his departure from that band. This is pretty much what BS&T started to sound like once Clayton-Thomas rejoined that band in 1975 and he took over creative control. He even managed to get those albums released as Blood, Sweat & Tears featuring David Clayton-Thomas. This album contains a song "Yesterday's music" which he later took to BS&T for the New city album. That version is better. Without any horns this album sounds even more boring than latter day BS&T, even when Clayton-Thomas tries to rock on "Down bound man". Not really bad, as Clayton-Thomas can sing and he has the support of musicians such as Chuck Rainey and Danny Kortchmar
