00:00Throughout their 2025 season, the LSU Tigers delivered some of the most electrifying moments in the history of college baseball
00:07and ended with a phenomenal record of 53 wins and just 15 losses.
00:14That's pretty good. We'd like to have that in the major leagues.
00:17You finished the year with an eight-game win streak and a two-game series sweep against Coastal Carolina in the College World Series Finals to take the title.
00:27That's the eighth national baseball title in LSU history.
00:32That's amazing, actually.
00:35Now, LSU's pitching staff was the best in the conference, leading the nation with 760 strikeouts.
00:47Kate Anderson was ranked college baseball's number one player on the mound.
00:52I would like to represent him. I'm leaving the White House immediately.
00:54Oh, the money. Oh, somebody's going to make some. Where's Kate? Where is Kate?
01:00Where are you, Kate? Come here, Kate.
01:13Boy, oh boy, would I like to be doing that, huh?
01:17180 strikeouts. That's a lot. That's almost a record.
01:21In game one of the championships, he pitched a complete game shutout, preventing Coastal Carolina from scoring,
01:27even though they had one of the best offensive teams in all of baseball, even a single run they couldn't get.
01:34So it's no wonder he was named the College World Series Most Outstanding Player.
01:38Kate, thank you very much, Kate.
01:40And it's great to have you at the White House.
01:42We like winners at the White House, Kate.
01:43To advance to the regional championship, LSU faced Dallas Baptist, supposed to be a great team, an outfielder.
02:00Chris Stanfield was, they say, unstoppable.
02:03He built an early game momentum with a second inning home run, contributed multiple RBIs and brought in an additional run with a sacrifice ground out at the end of the game.
02:16And you ended up winning the game.
02:18So I think your last sacrifice didn't matter too much because they won the game 12 to nothing.
02:22That's not too bad.
02:24Where are you? Where are you?
02:25Well, look at this guy, huh?
02:28Look at him.
02:29Look at him.
02:29Look at him.
02:29Look at him.
02:30Look at him.
02:30Look at him.
02:30Look at him.
02:31Look at him.
02:32Look at him.
02:33Look at him.
02:34Look at him.
02:35Look at him.
02:36Is he that good a player?
02:37Is he good?
02:38Pretty good, huh?
02:39That's a good team.
02:41So to advance to the regional championship, LSU, and if you look at it, LSU has turned out to be named one of the best teams over the last 10 years,
02:53according to the experts, of which there are many, but most of them can't play very well, right?
02:59Back in Baton Rouge, you had a tense game one on the Super Regional West against West Virginia with a full court in a fifth inning, a full count in the fifth inning.
03:11The bases were loaded and sophomore shortstop Stephen Milam launched the ball deep over right center field, securing a grand slam and adding four runs to the numbers already up.
03:23Substantially, West Virginia began to mount to come back in the sixth, but Josh Pearson smashed another grand slam over the wall, carrying the Tigers to victory.
03:33So, Josh, where are you and where have, let's see, Malum, Malum, where is Malum?
03:38These guys have very strong hands, I'm noticing, you know?
03:52They're ripping me.
03:53They're ripping my hand up.
03:55These are strong people.
03:57You don't hit those home runs without strong, beautiful hands.
04:00You agree with that, Mr. Speaker?
04:02How was your baseball?
04:03Okay, not bad.
04:04Not quite as good.
04:06First baseman, Jared Jones, had one of the most iconic outings of the season during the June 14th, my birthday, College World Series.
04:14Thank you very much.
04:16Flag day.
04:17That was flag day.
04:18You know that, right?
04:19Against the Arkansas Razorbacks, after knocking a home run out of the park earlier in the game, Jared walked up to the plate in the bottom of the ninth with two outs, and the score was tied, and they looked like he could be in trouble.
04:33And a runner was in second with a 2-1 count.
04:36He hit a line drive up the middle, giving the Tigers enough time to rack up a sixth run, sending them straight to the finals, and the rest is history.
04:45You know what happened.
04:46Ten players of this elite squad are now headed to even greater glory in the Major League Baseball.
04:52I think you're going to do all right.
04:53I would like to represent every single one.
04:56No, I mean, the team must be incredible.
04:59Jared Anderson was drafted by the Seattle Mariners, so I think, aren't they playing a big game tonight or something like that?
05:06Are you going to be watching that?
05:07I think so.
05:08You better be watching.
05:09I'm so busy, I don't get to watch baseball too much.
05:13I did watch the other night, however.
05:14I turned on, and there happened to be a Japanese player who was not bad.
05:20He was one of the best pitchers I've ever seen, one of the best hitters I've ever seen.
05:24And that all makes for a nice contract.
05:26He's pretty good, right?
05:27Yeah.
05:28Pretty amazing, wouldn't you think?
05:29They say one of the best games ever played because you had pitching and hitting with the same guy.
05:34Pretty exciting.
05:35Chase Shores was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels.
05:39Where's Chase?
05:40Where's Chase?
05:41Where's Chase?
05:42Good.
05:43Wow.
05:44Nice big tall guy.
05:45Very good.
05:46Good.
05:47Good.
05:48Anthony Ironson and Jacob Maers were drafted by the Boston Red Sox.
05:55Boy, you have a good...
05:56Where is Anthony?
05:57Is Anthony here?
05:58Anthony right here?
05:59Good luck, huh?
06:00Good team.
06:01Good team.
06:02Good team.
06:03Good team.
06:05And Ethan Frey was drafted by the Euston Ash.
06:09That's another good team.
06:10They win a lot, right?
06:11Where is he?
06:12Where is that guy, huh?
06:13Good luck, huh?
06:14You feel confident?
06:15Good luck.
06:16Good.
06:17Daniel Dickerson were drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers.
06:22Where's Daniel?
06:24Congratulations.
06:25Good luck, huh?
06:26Good.
06:27Jared Jones was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
06:33Jared, congratulations.
06:35And Cade Woods, who's not present, who wanted to be here so badly, had a problem, was drafted
06:45by the Atlanta Braves.
06:46That's fantastic.
06:47I mean, that's a lot of...
06:48That's a lot of family.
