00:00So we also have a second amazing team with a big win to celebrate today, the LSU Shreveport Pilots.
00:08This year the Pilots became the first and only college baseball team in history to go a full season totally undefeated.
00:15You have...
00:18That's not bad.
00:24Well, I want these two teams to play.
00:27You want to do it? I'll do it. We'll get the stadium. I'll pay for it. What the hell?
00:35But you had an astounding record of 59 wins and no losses. What the hell is with that?
00:45In baseball, you know, normally you have like a little bad luck. You lose a game or two. That's pretty good.
00:50You have to say that he did a good job.
00:52I'm pretty darn good.
00:54He did a good job.
00:55Congratulations. Two great coaches. Two great people, too.
00:59You also became the first team in the history of LSU Shreveport to bring home a national title.
01:04Head coach Brad Neffendorf deserves a special recognition.
01:08The Pilots have been in every NAIA national tournament over the past two decades.
01:15That's pretty amazing.
01:16But they never brought home the title until Brad came along.
01:20And so coach of the year and all of that stuff.
01:22These two coaches are unbelievable. The top of the line.
01:25And I'll be honest, you know, I watch Major League Baseball and other sports and they keep hiring the same coaches over and over again.
01:32Right. They get fired and they hire him again.
01:34And I'd hire these two guys, but I don't want to take them away from your school.
01:39So I'm only kidding. Just pretend.
01:41I'll end up.
01:42You'll all leave.
01:43Say, that was terrible.
01:44You know, they'll both be hired.
01:45I'll tell you what.
01:46They do a great job, too.
01:47During the Red River Athletic Conference Awards, 14 members of the Pilots team received all conference team honors.
01:54And six players were selected.
01:56Gold love team for excellent defense.
01:58I can imagine Isaac Rohde was named conference pitcher of the year for a crushing league with a think of this, a 12 and 0 record and 114 strikeouts.
02:09How about that?
02:1012 and 0 is not bad.
02:11And Kobe Reeves, a left handed pitcher, was honored as the conference's newcomer of the year.
02:18So where are you two guys?
02:19Where are you?
02:24That's a fantastic thing.
02:37This team fought hard all the way through the last game of the season.
02:41The NAIA National Championship against Southeastern University, which supposedly is a great opponent.
02:49And your, frankly, opponents quickly took the lead in the first two innings.
02:55But you refused to fold or quit or do the thing that we're used to seeing a lot of people do in Washington.
03:02They quit.
03:03They fold.
03:03We don't fold, do we, huh?
03:05We don't fold.
03:07Jose Saloran, who is supposed to be a terrific prospect for the future, drove in two.
03:14And Anthony Swender scored on a wild pitch.
03:18And the next inning, the game was tied.
03:20Where's Anthony?
03:20Is he here?
03:21Anthony, good going.
03:22Come here, Anthony.
03:23Get over here.
03:23Thank you.
03:29Thank you, Anthony.
03:30Southeastern pulled ahead again, but the pilots answered in a thunderous fashion.
03:37Home runs by Jackson Searing and Ian Montz, and they say they're tremendous prospects also.
03:45And clutch RBIs from Ryan Davenport.
03:48And Austin Gome turned the tide very quickly by the eighth in.
03:52And the pilots were in full command, adding three more runs before slamming the door shut.
03:57When it was over, the scoreboard read 13 to 7, and the pilots were national champions.
04:02Wow.
04:02That's great, fellas.
04:03Thank you.
