00:30History will suggest, you know, we haven't won here in 37 years against a Celtic team, so that's the challenge for us.
00:51We must stay in the game. We must make it uncomfortable for Celtic, but we must be aggressive in that play.
00:56Well, I would expect us to be dominant of the ball and hopefully we can create the chances that can win the game.
01:03So we need to play with speed in our game and hopefully we can make the breakthrough early.
01:09Welcome to Sports Scene. Welcome to Dens Park. Dundee facing the very real possibility of ending the Premiership weekend bottom of the table.
01:18Celtic also with work to do as they start the day. Five points behind league leaders' hearts.
01:23If points were sent by electronic transfer, then those in power would be forgiven for pushing the send button ahead of kickoff to add three points to the Celtic tally.
01:35Dundee have a horrible home record against Celtic.
01:38It was September of 1988 when Tommy Coyne slotted home the only goal at Dens against former Scotland goalkeeper Alan Ruff, who was making his Celtic debut.
01:47That the last time the home side beat Celtic here. Hope springs eternal, but you feel even hope rarely attends this fixture for Dundee.
01:55But in football, you just never know.
01:59Dundee were on the wrong side of a four-goal loss at Petaudre as Aberdeen let loose.
02:05Dre Wright and Paul Dickby return to the starting 11.
02:08Finlay Robertson and Jan Dander, the two players who drop onto the bench.
02:12Steven Presley saying his side were possibly too aggressive at the start of that game.
02:19Celtic were taken all the way by a call for the Motherwell side, but the Emirates victorious doesn't matter, got a late goal, but he's out with a hamstring injury today.
02:28Marcelo Siraccia and Luke McCowan also drop to the bench.
02:32In come Kieran Tierney, Benjamin Negrin and Yang.
02:39Celtic are enjoying the longest ever unbeaten run away from home.
02:42against a single side.
02:44They haven't lost in the last 36 visits here.
02:48Should Dundee win today, they would move up to ninth.
02:53But the game will be delayed.
02:57And the chance from the Celtic fans are aimed at the Celtic board.
03:04The metaphorical protest is there for all to see.
03:08I have to say, you understand the fans' right to protest, but all these players are ready to go, and then you have to stop and deal with this nonsense.
03:23Yeah, shake of the head from the Celtic goalkeeper says a lot.
03:26Clark Robertson is going to lift that for him, Ari Samuels.
03:36Brilliant control from Samuels.
03:38First time into the area it goes, and Tierney has to hit the ball wide, and that's the first thing Dundee have had to cheer about.
03:46Watched it drop over his shoulder.
03:48Beautiful first touch.
03:50Here's McGregor.
03:57Ralston trying to work the one-two.
04:00Yorancho's come a long way short.
04:07Yorancho.
04:08Decent effort.
04:09Well, three goals in his six Celtic appearances.
04:15A couple of them from the spot, but fancied this one from distance.
04:19Just spotted the goalkeeper who had left that area free.
04:22Murray holds up well, Congrave.
04:37Trying to get his way through.
04:38It's a brilliant ball across, no takers.
04:40Here's Samuels.
04:41Back into the middle it goes.
04:43Celtic get the ball clear.
04:46And then the shot, there's a lot to be desired.
04:48Great ball across the six-yard box.
04:54Cameron Congrave.
04:56The Welshman did well.
04:57Just fell behind Simon Murray.
05:02Scales wins the header.
05:05Hamilton gets it down onto Murray.
05:09Here's Dre Wright.
05:12Simon Murray holds off Hitati.
05:14Might open up for Ethan Hamilton.
05:16Got the shot away, breaks down.
05:17Cameron Congrave is there.
05:19And Congrave earns the corner.
05:22Well, again, good pressure from Dundee.
05:26It was just touched out of play by Scales.
05:29Cameron Congrave, just a fourth start.
05:31Three substitute appearances, and then four back-to-back starts.
05:35Whips in the corner, the chance!
05:37And the opening goal for Clark Robertson!
05:41He simply wasn't picked up, and he simply dispatched a brilliant header into the corner.
05:49It's the third goal of the season for Dundee's number three.
05:52And they have the lead against Celtic.
05:55And they have the lead against Celtic.
05:56Simple corner, he broke away.
05:58Well, this is a question.
06:03It's Simon Murray catching the goalkeeper's eye line.
06:07Certainly the header was brilliantly sent across.
06:11Smyker with no chance.
06:14You leave Clark Robertson unmarked.
06:16He's got more than the ability to be able to do that.
06:20Right into the corner of the net.
06:23Joy for Dundee.
06:24They lead Celtic.
06:25By one to them.
06:37To Necti.
06:40On to Scales.
06:49The Tati, that's a clever ball, a chance for Tierney, sits himself.
06:53And shoots wide.
06:57Well, he's yet to score on his return to Celtic, Kieran Tierney.
07:02And then his debut for Celtic against Dundee.
07:05Fires that one wide.
07:07Great ball through from Rayo Tati.
07:09Set himself beautifully.
07:12The ball just evaded the post.
07:23Celtic, we need to get back on that, we'll charge, that's good play.
07:28Was well read by Hamilton.
07:31Comgreave outside him.
07:33The Welshman sets up for another ball across the box.
07:37And it's Michael, palms it away.
07:42Samuels.
07:43Dundee playing with a spring on their step.
07:48Samuels goes through.
07:50That will be a goal kick.
07:54I thought he was going to try and cut it back instead.
07:57Pushed it across the six-yard box.
08:00And invited people to go and chase it.
08:02And it required a strong hand by the Celtic keeper.
08:04But...
08:09Thumbs up from the box is always good.
08:15There's Rayo Tati.
08:20It's a night take on the inside of the space here.
08:23That's a great block.
08:25Coming right across as Ryan Ashley to Dundee.
08:28The Celtic skipper.
08:30It's a great ball short into Yang, measured it well.
08:35The Dundee escape, put some good football to escape as well.
08:40Comgreave.
08:42Coming through, can he get the pass away?
08:46Murray back on the inside, Ethan Hamilton coming through.
08:51And Liam Scales has to play that behind.
08:59Drew Wright plays it in, shouts of away, it was Tierney who got there.
09:03Robertson almost in again, Hamilton waits, he gets the shot away.
09:09Former Man United youth player from Edinburgh.
09:13Got himself free at the edge of the area.
09:16Shuffled backwards, put the volley well wide.
09:18Here's McGregor, on to Scales.
09:29To net deep.
09:32Trying to find a way through again,
09:33Drey Wright is right on his heels and Drey Wright is helping to bring it away.
09:40Played wide by Hamilton, on to Congrave.
09:43Congrave against Scales.
09:45Cuts one way and the other, sets up a brilliant chance!
09:49And Joe Wesley makes it two!
09:53Dundee and Dreamland, Celtic ripped apart again!
09:56And it's Dundee two, Celtic nil!
10:02It's this long, fallow period, about to come to an end.
10:091988, the last time Dundee took three points at home against Celtic.
10:13It was 1-0 that day, they lead 2-0 here, with a brilliant goal on the break.
10:19Cameron Congrave, well he's threatened all afternoon, he's been sensational.
10:25Sends it across, and Joe Wesley, Neptune,
10:28scored against Livingston, gets his second Dundee goal against Celtic.
10:36And Celtic, the team in second, are in a heap of trouble against 11th place Dundee.
10:41Took a lower knock off camera, Carter Vickers on the way home.
10:46Wesley will claim it, Carter Vickers with a finishing touch.
10:59McGregor on the angle, Dre Wright came back, Ethan Hamilton.
11:07Hamilton gathers, plays it through, Simon Murray has got a chance here,
11:12Murray going through, Carter Vickers makes the challenge.
11:18Big moment in the game.
11:19He and Acho trying to link with McGregor.
11:32Forrest on the inside, Negrin just sees dark blue everywhere he looks.
11:37Tierney into the middle, Itati brings it down!
11:41Good effort from Rea Itati.
11:44Scored against Dambadine earlier on this season, just dragged that one wide.
11:50In good position.
11:58Robertson got the head flick on, Smeichel has to make the save.
12:02What an impact actually he nearly made.
12:05Robertson now with the captain's armband, won it well.
12:09And Smeichel was diving across.
12:11He didn't get the touch, brushed to the outside of the post.
12:19Tierney, up against Dre Wright.
12:23Tienecte, now up against Dre Wright, into the area he goes.
12:27Ball hasn't gone out of play.
12:31Tierney.
12:34Lower course, corner of Celtic.
12:35Johnny Kenny, waits in the middle.
12:43Goalkeeper stays on his line, Yorancho!
12:48And McCracken out very, very quickly indeed.
12:51Well, across it came, flicked on, that's a good block from the goalkeeper.
12:55He's got it!
13:02Immediately into the middle, immediately a chance for Celtic, what a block!
13:06Luke Graham!
13:08His goalkeeper collapses on top of him, Yorancho into a wonderful position.
13:13It's a great ball across, ready to pull the trigger and snuffed out by Luke Graham.
13:18He's Luke McCowan, little ball on the inside.
13:27There will be a corner.
13:29Paul Digby again.
13:30Again, Dundee won the first ball, Ray Ohtati comes in, that's a penalty.
13:41There's the lifeline that Celtic were looking for.
13:45Oh, Colgreave can complain, but it'll look to Stonewaller.
13:51Corner in, simple header away.
13:53Ohtati brought the ball down.
13:57That's a penalty all day long.
13:58Down it came.
14:03The arms were raised.
14:05And Digby is pinged.
14:09It will be reviewed by VAR.
14:11Was it low enough down?
14:13I have to say, you do that, you run the risk.
14:18Well, Dundee have conceded three penalties so far this season,
14:23but the recommendation is to come and have a look.
14:29So there's the strike from Ohtati, the arms are up.
14:39Here's the call from the referee, Matthew McDermott.
14:42VAR came off the head and onto the arm, and that is what saved Dundee in real time.
14:53This looked like an absolute stick-on penalty, but it strikes the face in the arm and it's overturned.
14:59The referee, Matthew McDermott, didn't take too long in front of the monitor.
15:08Tierney cuts it back, McCowan, chance to Tattie, oh, comes off Luke Dram.
15:23Being very, very little about it.
15:25And it was a cheeky way to clear a shot.
15:35Sometimes you need a bit of luck.
15:39Gordon Strachan watching on, Gordon Strachan OBE.
15:42Made his Dundee debut back in 1973-74, guided Celtic to six major honours.
15:50Celtic need a miracle.
16:06McCowan, back on the inside.
16:07Back on the inside, Balak Wysha, lovely little drag back, opens up, curls!
16:13McCracken will the same.
16:16Well, there's not a lot to do today, but what he's done, he's done well.
16:25Well, he looks calm, Steven Presley may be absolutely thrilled at this.
16:30Oh, the day began with a protest, it's not going to end in a better frame of mind for these Celtic fans.
16:44Bobby Geddes, the last winning goalkeeper at Dens.
16:48That is now John McCracken, 37 years since Dundee beat Celtic at home, what a day to do so.
16:55Stephen Presley's biggest win is Dundee boss.
17:00It could spark their season and scenes of utter delight among the Dundee players.
17:08The gap at the top of the table is now five points.
17:11Hearts lead by five.
17:14Hearts and Celtic will play each other next Sunday.
17:19But for Celtic, the day ends as it began with chance of sack the board.
17:25Disappointment for Brendan Rodgers and Colt, but today is all about Dundee.
17:31They've ended a horrible run of form against Celtic.
17:37It's their first victory against Celtic since 2001, the first at home since 1988.
17:45And the Smiles will be there for a long, long time.
17:49It's finished at Denspark, Dundee two, Celtic nil.
17:55Proud's the word, you know, we came into the game, we've worked exceptionally hard over the last couple of weeks.
18:02You know, going into an international break on the Aberdeen result, there was a lot of suffering.
18:07It was difficult, but we reacted in the best possible manner.
18:12And like you said, I couldn't be proud of the group of players today because you can work on certain aspects, but the execution of it is down to players.
18:20You need the players and I thought to a man they were brilliant today.
18:24You said you obviously worked on a lot of things during the international break.
18:27What were those key things that allowed you to lay the platform for that result today?
18:31You know, one of the things is that we need to be more aggressive as a team.
18:38Aggressive in our duels, winning more duels, and I thought we did that to a man today.
18:42And also, I think we asked more questions of Celtic today than we have in previous games.
18:48We crossed more, we countered with real intent today.
18:52So, you know, when you see that coming together, you're exceptionally proud.
18:57But, you know, as I've said, you know, playing against a Brendan Rodgers Celtic team, you need an element of luck.
19:03We had luck on our side today, luck and resilience, and thankfully we took our moments.
19:10Well, I think result and performance was bitterly disappointing.
19:16Give credit to Dundee, they defended very well when they got in front.
19:19I think all the statistics in the game, we dominated the ball, but I didn't feel that we did enough with it.
19:28We had some opportunities in the first half, got into some good areas.
19:31Second half likewise, but we've seen it before, really, in a number of games this season.
19:37I think it's six games we haven't scored in, so we're just lacking that bit of finesse and that bit of quality in the final third of the pitch.
19:44And if you can't break that down against teams that are low, then you're maybe going to suffer.
19:50So, yeah, it was a disappointing day for us.
19:54Did Dundee surprise you at all with their intensity?
19:57They came out of the blocks with a lot of aggression.
19:59I don't know if the players were surprised.
20:00Obviously, there was a protest at the start.
20:02I don't know if that disrupted things or disrupted the momentum in terms of the start you would have liked to make.
20:07Yeah, no, no, nothing surprises.
20:10I think we, you know, we see the goalkeeper kicks it a long way, so you've got to travel with the ball and you've got to win your first ball, second balls.
20:21And so nothing really surprised us.
20:23And, of course, when you get 1-0 up, and in particular 2-0, you know they're going to be resolute and hard to beat.
20:29And I think you give credit to the players for that.
20:31But we as a Celtic team, we have to show more than that.
20:34We have to show more drive, more quality in the final third of the pitch to break that down.
20:40And that was the frustration of today.
20:44It is the day the stats came tumbling down for Dundee.
20:47They hadn't beaten Celtic in the 46 previous attempts.
20:51That went all the way back to 2001.
20:53They hadn't beaten Celtic here at Dens Park since 1988.
20:58We are joined by Michael Stewart.
21:00But, Michael, what a day.
21:02Your old pal Stephen Presley, he wasn't the most popular appointment amongst a lot of Dundee fans.
21:09But tonight, goodness me, they'll be building him a statue, won't they?
21:12Well, certainly building the foundations to begin with.
21:15And that was pretty much what the performance was like from Dundee.
21:19That, you know, a strong basis that they built from.
21:22Very, very hard working.
21:25And a lot of quality in there as well.
21:26So, yeah, I'm sure that the manager will be going away feeling good about himself.
21:31And they can start to look forward.
21:34What did you like most about this Dundee side, Michael?
21:37Because apart from all the stats as well, the last match two weeks ago, they were getting the thump to 4-0 by Aberdeen.
21:42So some turnaround by Stephen Presley's side.
21:44What did you like about the shape?
21:45What did you like about the way the Dundee players played this match?
21:48Well, they played with real endeavour.
21:50Hard work.
21:51That was the basis of it.
21:52And particularly for me, you know, Ethan Hamilton and Congrave, they were the two that, Cameron Congrave, that were really driving the team forward.
22:02You know, when you're playing against Celtic and you know that you're not going to be dominating possession,
22:06you're going to be making yourself tough to beat, you've got to have an outball.
22:10You've got to have guys that are able to compete and carry the ball and get you up the park.
22:14And I thought those two in particular were very impressive for Dundee.
22:18And defensively, I mean, as well, Clark Robertson and Luke Graham, I thought those two in particular at the back were very good.
22:27Obviously, Graham had a couple of really important blocks.
22:30But whenever the ball came out of the box, I felt as if Clark Robertson had the backline, you know, marshalled really well.
22:35Got his head on a lot of things and obviously scored a really good first goal as well.
22:39Just how big a player do you think Cameron Congrave can be for Dundee this season?
22:44Because hugely impressive today, 21 years of age, on loan from Swansea City.
22:48Welsh, under-21 international, obviously supplying the assist, the corner kick for Clark Robertson's opening goal.
22:55And then instrumental, obviously, in making it 2-0 as well.
22:58Yep. I thought he was outstanding.
23:00He got man of the match here at the stadium.
23:02And I thought, you know, between him and Ethan Hamilton, they were competing for that man of the match award.
23:08And he brings balance to the team.
23:10Because as I've mentioned there, the one criticism previously of Dundee, he would say, is that they've not had enough attack and threat.
23:18But I thought he was a constant threat.
23:20You know, he was riding tackles.
23:21He was physically strong.
23:23He was willing to go and take the, you know, opponents on.
23:25Obviously, he was playing over on the right-hand side up against Kieran Tierney.
23:28And I thought he was outstanding.
23:30The delivery for the first one, the corner, was really good.
23:33And the second one, even more so.
23:35You know, that showed that desire and the hunger to get up the park.
23:39And then push the defence.
23:41You know, he pushed Liam Scales back into the box.
23:43Drops his shoulder one way, then the other.
23:45And sets up the second goal for Wesley, which probably was going wide, I think.
23:53And deflects off of Cameron Carter-Vickers in the back of the net.
23:56So, to answer your question, I think he's going to be very important for Dundee.
23:59Because he's one of the guys that gives them a good foil for getting up the park and creating opportunities.
24:06Celtic obviously huffed and puffed today.
24:08Took over an hour for him to get a shot on target.
24:10There was the penalty claim, Paul Digby.
24:12That was overruled after VAR, rightly so.
24:16And Dundee at the end as well.
24:17Credit to them, the way they defended.
24:20Luke Graham, brilliant.
24:21Blocks.
24:22What to say from John McCracken at the end too.
24:24Yeah, all of that.
24:26You know, I think, you know, the big takeaways from today were that Dundee showed a real grit
24:31and determination that you have to, first and foremost.
24:33But they were threatening.
24:34They were dangerous.
24:35And then from Celtic's perspective was that, yet again, they lacked any real intensity.
24:42They were lethargic in the final third and pretty toothless.
24:46And that's a concern for, you know, for Brendan Rodgers.
24:48Because, you know, he's spoken previously about the fact that the squad is what it is now.
24:52It's up to him to find the dynamic and the balance of the team that's going to unlock defences.
24:59And at the moment, it looks like they're struggling to do that.
25:02You know, they don't have too many options either.
25:04Balacuisha sat on the bench.
25:05Yang starts the game.
25:06Forrest comes on ahead of Balacuisha again.
25:09Even when Balacuisha does come on, didn't offer a great deal.
25:12Tunechte was a little bit ineffective today as well.
25:16Iheanacho didn't have much to do in the game.
25:18He had only, you know, a few touches.
25:19And then Johnny Kenny came on at half-time.
25:22And he barely touched the ball either.
25:23So, the front end of the park is definitely a concern for Brendan Rodgers.
25:28And obviously, they've got a mouth-watering tie to come up next week against Harts at Tynecastle.
25:36Absolutely.
25:36Before we get into all of that, I mean, synergy.
25:38There seems to be a huge lack of that at Celtic right now.
25:40We saw the balls getting chucked onto the pitch by the fans at the start of the match.
25:44And obviously, you're seeing the Celtic performance.
25:47It's all mixed in together, undoubtedly.
25:49And maybe in January, they can do something about that.
25:52But between now and January, how on earth do they fix it?
25:56Well, it's not easy.
25:57You know, because the European games are coming thick and fast for them as well.
26:00They've obviously got another game on Thursday to contend with against Sturm Graz.
26:06They've got Harts on Sunday at Tynecastle.
26:10And the form they're in and the way they're playing, there's not going to be any easy games for them just now.
26:15And you talk about January.
26:16Yes, I would imagine, of course, they're going to be having one eye on January.
26:20But, look, we've been through a bigger transfer window in the summer and it was an absolute debacle.
26:24So, you wouldn't put too much weight on the fact that they're going to sort things out in January.
26:31It's a concern for them.
26:33There is no question of that.
26:34I think the negativity, the lack of synergy and the lethargy in the transfer window has manifested itself in the team and the performances as well.
26:47So, you know, the protests from the fans certainly aren't going to help in that fashion.
26:53But I can understand, you know, a lot's made about Celtic having won so many trophies in the past and that the fans are being a little bit spoiled.
27:01No, they're looking at the club and the way that it's been run and the lack of ambition that's there.
27:07And I think they're quite right to be, you know, protesting.
27:09In terms of chucking tennis balls onto the park, look, some will say it's not a problem.
27:15Others will say it is.
27:16The thing that's clear here is that at the moment, Celtic are in a bit of a rut and Brendan Rodgers has got a big job on his hand to get them out of that.
27:25Michael, for the moment, thank you very much indeed.
27:26And a huge match for Celtic and Hearts next weekend at Tyne Castle.
27:32Before we get into that and talk about it, let's have a look back at all of Saturday's action.
27:43There's a lovely touch, like you saw Matt.
27:46Asgard.
27:50Brilliant play from Taylor Asgard, and that is wonderful.
27:55And it might be the goal that kickstarts Rangers season as well.
27:59A first for the club for the Norway International.
28:01That's a lovely ball through to Sapsford, the Rangers defence stopped.
28:10Across it comes.
28:12Breaks to Trapanovski.
28:15Oh, he scored!
28:16It's one-one!
28:19He's just gone!
28:20Oh, it's a lovely death ball over the top of the Rangers defence that didn't react.
28:29Sapsford pulled it across.
28:32Trapanovski's got loads still to do here.
28:35And he dispatched this into the bottom left.
28:41And Sibbould.
28:42Oh, he's managed to get it through to Sapsford!
28:47Buckling out quickly.
28:50Sibbould.
28:51Oh, brilliant goal!
28:54Top drawer from Craig Sibbould!
28:56Well, strikes don't come much better than this one.
29:02Moller chested it down, and Sibbould dispatches that superbly.
29:10Barron looking for Moore.
29:14He's on to it.
29:16There's Tavernier!
29:182-2!
29:19Rangers back on terms in a topsy-turvy encounter here.
29:24And once again, it's their captain who rescues them.
29:27Heartbreak for United.
29:28They were looking to win here for the first time in the league in over 14 years.
29:39Barlasar.
29:40And to Klijet.
29:41Oh, that's a brilliant turn.
29:43Still going, Thibaut Klijet!
29:44Brilliant goal.
29:50And Thibaut Klijet's first strike at Easter Roads,
29:53and his first in the Premiership,
29:55is a belter.
29:59And Klijet goes down.
30:02Penalty given.
30:06Montaño,
30:07only on at the break,
30:09already in the book,
30:10and guilty
30:11of gifting Hibbs a penalty.
30:14It's a blatant shirt pull.
30:18McGrath!
30:21Such coolness
30:23from the Irishman.
30:25They've threatened pretty much since the opener
30:27to add to their tally,
30:29and they've finally done it.
30:32Ohora now
30:32to Chris Caden,
30:35who drops the shoulder,
30:36dinks the cross in,
30:37Hoylitt's up,
30:38and Hoylitt makes it three.
30:42And Hibbs are on their way.
30:45Junior Hoylitt the substitute
30:46with a clever header.
30:52Chaiwa.
30:55Hibbs are having fun out there now.
30:58Hoylitt
30:58finds Caden.
31:00It comes back to Chris Caden,
31:03and Hoylitt!
31:04And he has another,
31:05and Heberian have four.
31:07It is Chris Caden
31:12and Junior Hoylitt
31:13complaining
31:14for the second time
31:15in ten minutes,
31:16and it's the same outcome.
31:18Hoylitt stroking high
31:19into the net.
31:22And a good day's work
31:23for Hibbs.
31:23coming forward here,
31:30Saeed takes it
31:31off the toes of Just,
31:33skips past the challenge,
31:34he's in on goal,
31:35and he's scored!
31:37A brilliant solo goal
31:39to give Motherwell
31:40a deserved lead.
31:41He just took it off the toes
31:47of Elijah Just.
31:50Skipped away
31:51from a couple of defenders
31:52who clattered
31:52into each other.
31:53Stephen McLean
31:58comes across to the monitor.
32:03And is that a foul
32:04in the build-up?
32:05Does Saeed
32:06foul Brad Spencer
32:07by stepping across him there?
32:08It looks like the referee
32:11is going to rule
32:13this one out.
32:15Chocked off.
32:17I don't know
32:18if there's much in that.
32:21Saeed
32:21running at the
32:23Falkirk defence
32:24or rather statuesque.
32:26It comes across
32:27to Maswanese!
32:28That one should stand.
32:32Tawanda Maswanese
32:34curling left-footed
32:36into the far corner.
32:43Tate opening up the play.
32:48Williams crossing.
32:49It's picked out MacIver
32:50who picks out Miller!
32:531-1.
32:54Calvin Miller
32:56seals it with a kiss.
32:59Falkirk have
33:00their equaliser.
33:04They really
33:05should be out of sight
33:06here at Fur Park
33:07but Falkirk
33:08have restored parity
33:10through Calvin Miller.
33:13They've been much
33:13improved in the second half
33:15and John McGlynn
33:15will be delighted.
33:20Donald trying to pick out
33:21Maswanese.
33:21It's a good touch.
33:22Bean makes a save
33:23could come to
33:24Stamatolopoulos
33:25but the whistle
33:27has already gone.
33:29There's a handball
33:30from the Australian.
33:32Well, the Motherwell fans
33:34thought they were
33:34back in front there.
33:36They've not had a lot
33:37to cheer in the second half.
33:39This was a brilliant
33:39ball over the top.
33:40A brilliant touch
33:41from Maswanese.
33:43Stamatolopoulos
33:43onside.
33:46Yeah, clear handball there.
33:47He doesn't celebrate
33:48it too much either.
33:49Adjeman
33:53tries to curl in.
33:55It could drop
33:56to Scott Arfield!
34:00Super!
34:01Scott Arfield
34:02puts Falkirk
34:04in front
34:05for the very first time.
34:09They were miles
34:10off it
34:11but somehow
34:12they're in front.
34:19St-Marin
34:20send it in.
34:22It's Devlin
34:23who defends it.
34:25Mikel Mandron.
34:31Phillips
34:32fires through
34:33back as spins.
34:34Clipped up
34:36and headed in.
34:38And it's
34:39Alex Gogic
34:40on his
34:42150th
34:44St-Marin
34:45appearance.
34:48It's his first
34:49Premiership goal
34:50of the season.
34:51And the referee
34:55has been sent
34:55to the monitor.
34:58Lindeloo
34:59standing in front
35:00of Dimitar Mitov
35:01as Devlin
35:03heads away
35:04and there
35:06will be no
35:06goal.
35:10Palaversa.
35:12Jensen
35:12now on the
35:12left side.
35:16Jadon
35:17Richardson
35:18on his
35:19heels
35:19and now
35:21pulled back
35:22by Palaversa.
35:23and the referee
35:26needs to get
35:27involved now.
35:29It's all
35:29boiling over.
35:31The referee
35:32quick to the
35:32back pocket
35:33for the yellow
35:33card for Palaversa.
35:38Lloyd
35:38Wilson
35:39has heard
35:40instruction
35:41in his ear
35:42from VAR
35:42to go to the
35:43monitor.
35:44A yellow
35:44card was shown
35:45to both players
35:46on the field.
35:49Will
35:49Richardson,
35:50the former
35:51Don,
35:52see a change
35:53to the
35:53colour.
35:55He does
35:55a red
35:56card for
35:57Richardson.
35:58St Mirren
35:59will play
35:59the remainder
36:00of this
36:01match with
36:02ten players.
36:05Time running
36:05out for a
36:06winner.
36:10Palaversa
36:11looks to
36:12release
36:12Lazatic.
36:15He keeps
36:16it in.
36:17It's
36:17Lazatic!
36:20Sensational!
36:20No!
36:23what a
36:24way to
36:24get your
36:25first
36:25Aberdeen
36:26goal!
36:27And it
36:28could be
36:28their first
36:29win here
36:29in almost
36:30seven years
36:31in the
36:31league.
36:31Harry
36:42to send
36:43the ball
36:44in from
36:44the
36:45corner.
36:46It's
36:46Hulkin
36:47again!
36:50All
36:51alone in
36:51the six
36:52yard box
36:52to notch
36:53his third
36:54goal in
36:54his last
36:55three games.
36:56Stanger's
37:00got to be
37:00careful.
37:01Gives that
37:01one away.
37:03It could
37:04pose further
37:05problems here.
37:06Beach makes
37:07the save on
37:07the rebound!
37:09Hearts make it
37:10two!
37:12And it's
37:12Claudio
37:13Braga!
37:17It's just a
37:18basic error.
37:20And Hearts
37:20pounce.
37:22Initial shot
37:23from Kiziridis,
37:24passing straight
37:25into the
37:26path of
37:26Braga by
37:27Beach.
37:36Now Kiziridis
37:37pouncing on
37:39the short
37:39ball back
37:40from Watson.
37:41Braga's
37:42in again!
37:43Oh,
37:43that's wonderful
37:43from Claudio
37:44Braga!
37:48Kili,
37:49the
37:49architecture,
37:50their own
37:50downfall
37:51once more,
37:52could give
37:53that man
37:53half a
37:54chance
37:54and he's
37:55liable
37:55to take
37:56it.
37:57The
37:58misunderstanding
37:58there is
37:59Niel's
38:01reluctant to
38:01try and
38:02take it
38:02on first
38:03time.
38:04It's
38:04devastating
38:05from
38:05Hearts.
38:08So,
38:08a bad
38:09weekend for
38:09Derek
38:10McInnes'
38:10attempts to
38:11try to
38:11be laid
38:11on any
38:12Hearts
38:12title
38:13top.
38:14They
38:14have
38:14five
38:14points
38:15clear
38:15at the
38:16top
38:16of the
38:16Premiership
38:17this
38:17evening.
38:19They play
38:19Celtic next
38:20weekend at
38:21Tynecastle.
38:22before that,
38:23Celtic have
38:23storm
38:24grabs on
38:24Thursday
38:25night,
38:25so the
38:26big question
38:26has to
38:26be,
38:27do Hearts
38:28go into
38:28this match
38:29against Celtic
38:29as favourites?
38:30That's a good
38:31question.
38:32They're certainly
38:33going into it
38:33full of confidence
38:34and belief.
38:35I'll be
38:35interested to
38:36see what the
38:36bookies make
38:37of it in
38:37regards to
38:38who are the
38:39favourites
38:39in that
38:39game.
38:40But Hearts
38:41have got a
38:41wonderful
38:41opportunity to
38:42really land
38:44a pretty
38:45hefty blow
38:47on Celtic.
38:48Potentially
38:49going eight
38:49points clear
38:50after nine
38:50games is quite
38:51incredible,
38:52but they've
38:53got a great
38:53opportunity
38:54because when
38:55you look at
38:56the way
38:57Hearts are
38:57performing,
38:57I thought the
38:58game yesterday
38:59at Rugby
38:59Park,
39:00the actual
39:01performance
39:01level was
39:02very impressive
39:03because
39:03Kelly started
39:05brightly,
39:06Hearts had to
39:07ride that
39:07storm and
39:08see it out
39:09to begin with.
39:10As soon as
39:10they scored
39:11the first
39:11goal,
39:11I thought
39:12their performance
39:12level just
39:13got better
39:13and better.
39:14In the end,
39:15it was a very
39:15comfortable victory
39:16for them.
39:16Celtic,
39:19as we've
39:20just seen
39:20here today,
39:20they're
39:21stuttering.
39:22So questions
39:22have been
39:23posed of
39:23Celtic,
39:25expectation
39:25and pressure
39:26is mounting
39:26on Hearts
39:27and it'll
39:28be very,
39:29very intriguing
39:29to see what
39:30comes of
39:31next Sunday
39:32at Tynecastle.
39:33If Hearts
39:33did go eight
39:34points clear
39:35next weekend,
39:35Michael,
39:36would you
39:37finally admit
39:38that they have
39:39a chance of
39:39winning the
39:40title this
39:40season?
39:40When you say
39:41they've got a
39:41chance of winning
39:42the title,
39:42of course
39:42they have.
39:43Mathematically,
39:43it's so early
39:44in the season,
39:45I think everybody's
39:46got a chance of
39:47winning the title
39:47but are they
39:48going to do it?
39:49I don't think
39:49they will,
39:50realistically.
39:51Even if they
39:52go eight points
39:52clear?
39:53Yeah,
39:53I don't.
39:54But the thing
39:54that is very
39:56apparent and
39:56clear,
39:57and I've said
39:57this for a
39:57good while now,
39:58is that Hearts
40:00have got a real
40:00opportunity of
40:01getting second.
40:02I genuinely
40:03think second
40:03is there for
40:04them.
40:04I think they're
40:05favourites for
40:05that,
40:06to finish second
40:06in the league,
40:07at least in the
40:08top two.
40:10They're definitely
40:11the favourites for
40:11that.
40:12The longer this
40:13goes in terms
40:14of the dynamic
40:16of Celtic and
40:17the issues that
40:18they've got,
40:19that clearly
40:20gives Hearts
40:20a greater
40:21opportunity of
40:22going longer
40:23and deeper
40:23into the
40:24campaign with
40:25the possibility
40:25of us all
40:26still talking
40:27about have
40:28they got a
40:28chance of
40:28winning the
40:29title.
40:29I detect
40:30your stances
40:30softening
40:31very slightly.
40:32As for
40:33Rangers,
40:35it looks like
40:35it's going to
40:36be maybe a
40:37month until
40:37Kevin Muscat
40:38arrives at the
40:39club, if that's
40:40indeed what
40:40happens.
40:41it's going to
40:42be a long
40:42month for
40:43Rangers fans,
40:44isn't it?
40:44I mean, good
40:45signs in the
40:46first half, but
40:46in the end they
40:47had to come
40:47back from 2-1
40:48down.
40:48Yeah, well I
40:49think what it
40:49shows is that
40:50Rangers need
40:51leadership,
40:52desperately.
40:52And, you
40:53know, I was
40:54listening to the
40:55guys on the
40:55radio yesterday
40:56and a lot of
40:58them were saying
41:00that, you
41:00know, it
41:01takes as long
41:02as it takes,
41:03but you've just
41:03got to make
41:03sure you get
41:04the right guy
41:04in the building.
41:06This is far
41:07from ideal for
41:08Rangers for me.
41:08You know, you
41:10don't know if
41:10you've got the
41:10right guy until
41:11such time as
41:12they're in the
41:12building, results
41:13start to happen.
41:14And I just
41:15think that the
41:17situation is what
41:17it is for Rangers
41:18now in regards
41:19to, they've not
41:20got too many
41:20places to turn,
41:22Muscat looks
41:22like will get
41:23the job, and
41:24it's a difficult
41:25scenario for them
41:26in regards to
41:27how can they
41:29force it through
41:29to happen earlier.
41:30But that doesn't
41:32detract from the
41:33fact it's far
41:34from ideal.
41:34They've got a
41:35semi-final on the
41:36horizon against
41:36their biggest
41:37rivals, they're
41:38dropping points in
41:40the league, and
41:40if that is
41:41something that
41:42happens over the
41:43next month, it's
41:43only going to
41:44intensify the
41:45pressure on
41:46Muscat when he
41:47eventually comes
41:48into the
41:48building.
41:48So, you know,
41:49it's a real
41:51concerning time
41:52for Rangers, and
41:54it only goes to
41:55emphasise for me
41:56the concern that
41:58everything that's
41:59happened under
41:59the board's
42:00watch since
42:00they came in
42:02has been far
42:02from ideal.
42:04You look at
42:04the appointment
42:04of Russell
42:05Martin was a
42:05disaster, the
42:06appointment of
42:07Kevin Thelwell
42:07has been
42:08questionable, the
42:09player recruitment
42:09has been
42:10questionable, the
42:11pursuit of
42:11Steven Gerrard was
42:12a debacle, and
42:13now looks like
42:15they're going to
42:15have to pay a
42:15seven-figure
42:16compensation fee
42:17for a manager
42:17they can't get
42:18until five weeks
42:19time.
42:19That's far from
42:20ideal.
42:21Michael, thank
42:22you very much
42:22indeed.
42:23Tonight, the
42:23William Hill
42:24Premiership table
42:24looks like this.
42:27What a wonderful
42:27sight for Hearts
42:29fans everywhere
42:30they are top of the
42:31table.
42:3222 points, five
42:34points clear of
42:35Celtic and they
42:37meet each other at
