00:00Police issued 968 summonses and detained 26 individuals, including a teenager, for traffic
00:09and drug-related offenses during a large-scale operation conducted across several strategic
00:15locations in Johor during the Deepavali long weekend.
00:19State Police Chief Commissioner Datuk Abrahaman Arsad said the operation covered residential
00:24areas, entertainment outlets, shopping centers, temples, major highways, and the Johor Causeway.
00:32More than 6,100 individuals and about 5,000 vehicles were inspected Sunday night, and from
00:38these checks, 968 summonses were issued for offenses such as driving without a valid license, illegal
00:46vehicle modifications, and fancy number plates.
00:50Police also seized 165 motorcycles and five cars during the operation, which involved
00:561,238 officers.
00:59Commissioner Abrahaman said the statewide enforcement was part of police efforts to ensure public
01:05safety and smooth traffic flow throughout the Deepavali celebrations.
01:09He added that the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department was deployed to maintain
01:14order on major routes, where heavier traffic was expected, particularly along both directions
01:20of the North-South Expressway.
01:23The public was reminded to plan their journeys early, follow traffic rules, and avoid driving
01:28while fatigued or under the influence of alcohol.
