00:00Hi, this is Isra from Digital Sun.
00:03Last week, we announced that Moonlighter 2, the Endless Vault, would be released into Early Access on November 19.
00:08While extending the wait is not ideal, we feel this is the right move to make a better game.
00:13Today, I'll walk you through all the changes that motivated this decision,
00:17especially after all the feedback we got from the demo.
00:20And the best part? You'll be able to try them for yourself in an upcoming playtest this week.
00:25But more on that later. Now, let's see what's in store.
00:30Let's start with the shop, where you'll notice the biggest differences.
00:44Because, yeah, we're bringing back the ability to set your own prices for each rally.
00:48This is a shopkeeping rock-like, after all, and you made it pretty clear that nailing that perfect price is key to the Moonlighter experience.
00:55Beyond regular clients reacting to your prices, you'll now deal with recurring customers,
01:00as well as a calendar system that makes certain items more valuable on specific days.
01:04And with decorations granting unique effects, your shop itself becomes some sort of a build that you can optimize each time you open the doors.
01:11We've also scaled back disasters and chaotic events going on at the same time,
01:15bringing back some of that calmer rhythm that defines Moonlighter's dual core.
01:19The backpack has been reworked, as well.
01:22Instead of relics showing a set price that you upgrade in the dungeons,
01:25they now display a quality value.
01:27Back in the shop, that quality acts as a multiplier.
01:30It's a subtle change that reinforces the shopkeeping fantasy I was talking about before,
01:34by keeping the mystery of discovering a new relic,
01:37and scratching the same numbers go up each you all highlighted during the demo with the backpack pass.
01:41Of course, different biomes will bring different effects and synergies to the mix,
01:46or as we like to put it, a roguelike inside a roguelike.
01:51Finally, the dungeons.
01:53In the demo, we linked into a more streamlined, roguelike structure to boost your playability and pacing.
01:59We still think this direction works,
02:01but also wanted to echo the mystery of finding your way through a maze from the first Moonlighter.
02:06Now, it's run includes a map that reveals part of the route ahead,
02:10letting you plan your path and make meaningful choices.
02:13Some symbols will remain hidden until you reach them,
02:16keeping discovery alive, with safer or risky routes, leading to different rewards.
02:21Add secrets and quests scattered throughout the dungeon,
02:23and you get the sense of wonder from Moonlighter 1,
02:26while keeping the best of Moonlighter 2 pacing.
02:28Combat has also seen big improvements since the demo.
02:31With work on telegraphing, game feel, and overall balance,
02:34so that every dodgeball, attack, and weapon swap feels tighter and more satisfied.
02:39We try to implement your feedback from your experience in Hootoo to the rest of the dimension.
02:44That's all for today.
02:45If you'd like to try these changes before we open the shop,
02:48we are hosting a private playtest on Steam this week.
02:51Sign up to see what's behind the counter,
02:53and join our Discord to share the hype.
02:55So yeah, keep the feedback rolling.
02:57We want your input to help us make the game even better throughout the early access.
03:01That's exactly how we want to approach this exciting moment in Moonlighter's history.
03:06Thanks again for your support, and for helping us shape Moonlighter 2.
03:09See you in Fresno.
