It's the final day of the World Triathlon Championships in Wollongong, south of Sydney. Thousands of athletes from 73 countries have been competing across the four-day event, dubbed as the "number one triathlon in the world."

00:07and I've never seen a city like this before.
00:09Just full of so many different coloured flags, languages, cultures.
00:13It's been an incredible four days and it all comes to an end today.
00:16Only 5,000 athletes have travelled from all over the world to compete in the competition since it begun.
00:22But no better represented is Australia.
00:25Green and gold seems to be everywhere.
00:271,500 athletes from Australia competing in different events like the elite triathlons, also the para triathlons.
00:35And you might not be able to see it but behind me we've got the para triathlon relay going underway.
00:41The support here has been amazing from the crowd.
00:44No matter where you go you might run into a medal winning athlete.
00:49We spoke to one just before and she ended up being a silver medalist.
00:53I competed in the women's PTS4 category and won the silver medal.
00:57It's so fun, it's great to see everyone's hard work and just be competing with some of the best athletes in the world.
01:03Very lovely and very well organised, a fantastic event, fantastic, you know, everything.

01:29It's the men and women's elite triathlon event this afternoon before a spectacular closing ceremony to wrap up an amazing fall days for the city, world championship athletes and triathlons.
