00:00On Friday morning, Cuban men and women strengthened the historic bonds of solidity that unite them with Venezuela
00:06in an act that reaffirmed their support amid a context of U.S. imperial aggression against the Caribbean.
00:11A correspondent, Belén de los Santos, has saw the details.
00:15More than 50,000 Havana residents headed today to the monument honoring the liberators in Montbolivar.
00:22Their goal was to express their solidarity with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
00:27amid the escalating aggression and military deployment by the U.S. government that threatens peace in the region.
00:36We are here to support them through this moment and to tell them that whatever their people may need,
00:41we Cubans are willing to give even our lives for our America and particularly for the Venezuelan people,
00:46which is like a brother for Cubans.
00:49We Cubans have more than enough reasons and motivations to continue defending the cause of Venezuela,
00:54which is like defending the Cuban cause.
00:55It is an act of solidarity, as we are used to get from Fidel, Chávez, Maduro, D.S. Canal.
01:00Here is the Cuban revolution and trade unionists.
01:04The first vice president of the Venezuelan General Assembly, Pedro Infante,
01:08expressed his gratitude for this Caribbean embrace.
01:12In a conversation with Telesur, he highlighted the importance of considering this U.S. escalation
01:17as a continuation of a long series of attacks against the popular government of our America.
01:25The U.S. president has declared a few days ago that he authorized the CIA to operate inside Venezuela.
01:30They've truly been operating in Venezuela for years.
01:33They've been operating in different countries for years to overthrow what they consider inconvenient governments.
01:37Let's just remember when they overthrew the government of Joao Aguilar in Brazil.
01:42Let's remember what they did to Salvador Allende in Chile.
01:44Let's remember all of the actions the CIA has taken against Cuba.
01:47Let's remember the CIA's participation in the 202 coup d'etat against commander Hugo Chávez.
01:52Only now they declare it openly, cynically, without a shred of shame.
01:56It's U.S. imperialism in its most imperial form or version.
02:00We believe that, and that's why we are infinitely grateful for the gesture of the Cuban people, of the president of Cuba.
02:07Despite the U.S. aggression against the region, which in addition to the military advances,
02:12is consolidated in the xenophobic attacks against Latin American migrants,
02:16the Caribbean responds firmly, assuring it is not willing to give in to imperial pressure.
02:22Just as hunger is used as a weapon of war against Palestine,
02:31it is being used against Cuba, against Venezuela, against Nicaragua.
02:35But here there are people in resistance.
02:37This morning, another example that our lives will always be at the service of the resistance people, of revolution.
02:45Venezuela raises its voice with the truth, with arguments,
02:48and with the strength of the people firm in its determination to remain free.
02:52Belen de los Santos, for Tell Us Your English, from Havana, Cuba.
