00:00And the United Socialist Party of Venezuela issued a statement expressing its opposition to the recent coercive measures imposed on
00:08Cuba.
00:08The statement, published on the party's official website, reads,
00:11The United Socialist Party of Venezuela warns political parties and governments in Latin America, the Caribbean, and around the world
00:19of the serious consequences of the recent unilateral coercive measures imposed by the U.S. government against Cuba,
00:26specifically the effects of the executive order issued on May 1st, 2026, which intensifies the two extreme and unprecedented levels,
00:34the economic, financial, and commercial blockade that has sought unsuccessfully for more than 60 years to break the sovereign will
00:41of our sister republic.
00:43The text continues by stating,
00:47That is why we in the PSUV are issuing an urgent call for unity among parties, movements, unions, student federations,
00:57and cultural and grassroots organizations around the world.
01:00We must immediately form a united political and diplomatic front to thwart attempts to fabricate a humanitarian crisis in Cuba
01:08as a pretext for escalating to greater aggression, including military threats, with unpredictable consequences.
01:15And concludes by stating,
01:16In fact, Cuba is not alone. Today more than ever it is essential to uphold this principle to safeguard the
01:22lives of 10 million Cuban brothers and sisters and to defend the stability, sovereignty, and peace of the entire Latin
01:30American and Caribbean region.
01:31We stand in solidity with the Communist Party of Cuba, its leadership, and its members at this moment of resolve
01:37and patriotic clarity.
