00:00Did you know there's an invisible line that wild penguins never cross?
00:08Even though their main home is Antarctica, penguins have spread across the entire southern half of the planet,
00:13but you won't find them in the north, not even in the Arctic.
00:16If you look at a map of their habitat, it seems like some kind of boundary is stopping them from moving farther north.
00:22And there really is. The equator.
00:24For penguins, the equator is a natural ecological boundary they never cross.
00:28You see, millions of years ago, the first penguins appeared in the southern hemisphere.
00:32They lost the ability to fly, turned their wings into powerful flippers, and became the best swimmers among all birds.
00:38Just imagine in Antarctica, scientists found fossils of ancient giant penguins that were taller than a human and weighed over 100 kilograms.
00:46The world of penguins is the cold waters, and crossing the hot waters of the equator is deadly for them.
00:52The temperature is too high, and there's almost no familiar food.
00:55Moreover, in nature, penguins have no large land predators.
00:59Like the polar bear, it lives only in the Arctic.
01:01And this allows penguins to chill out almost safely on the southern side of the Earth.
01:05So these two lovers of the cold became symbols of the opposite poles that never meet.
01:10There's some of our surge already.
01:11The weather takes place on the south.
01:14It refers to an ultimate Christian mainland to roll of the country.
01:15And this picture matters at some乘
