00:00On the occasion of World Food Day in Italy, the Supreme Pontiff of the Vatican, Leo XIV,

00:05called the people to fight for the eradication of hunger worldwide.

00:10During his speech at the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, FAO,

00:15the Supreme Pontiff stated that the fight against hunger is a shared responsibility,

00:20which challenges governments, institutions, companies and citizens.

00:24The Pope further indicated that the eradication of hunger cannot be limited to solemn declarations only.

00:31He also condemned the deliberate prevention of food to communities or entire people,

00:36which validates international humanitarian law.
