Our reporter Sophie Mei Lan Malin went to Horsforth, Leeds for a Sunday Roast.
Transcript
00:00We're just in the car on our way to Big Scoffs in Leeds.
00:03So Big Scoffs is the venture, the extension of Little Scoffs in Horseworth.
00:09This suburb of Leeds is up and coming.
00:12Many people describe it as a commuter haven,
00:15but perfect for families and full of coffee shops and cafes.
00:20And that's why the owners of Big Scoffs and Little Scoffs
00:24said they started out their journey
00:26because they wanted to have a comprehensive menu
00:28that was entirely vegan.
00:31And that's where Little Scoffs were born.
00:34But quickly they grew out of it
00:36and they started doing outside catering across the road.
00:40And it may have taken two years,
00:42but they noticed the upstairs unit perfect for a bigger restaurant.
00:47They've managed to convert it thanks to a crowdfunding campaign
00:51and lots of hard work.
00:53We tried out their Sunday menu,
00:55starting off with vegan pate gluten-free bread
00:59and then on to my mate's vegan gluten-free Sunday roast
01:03and I had the standard vegan roast
01:06with a choice of meat made out of Satan, of course.
01:09It all comes with a jug of gravy for the table.
01:13This is being vegan, but Yorkshire style
01:16in Yorkshire portions in a Yorkshire neighbourhood.
01:19Big Scoffs is open from Thursdays until Sundays
01:23and Little Scoffs is open all week
01:26for all your brunching needs.
