Bulli students reflect on English exam after first day of HSC

Bulli students who have completed their 2025 HSC English exams reflect on what they did well and offer study tips for the next few weeks ahead. Footage by Nadine Morton

00:00And I think it really benefited me just taking my time and answering to the best of my ability

00:04because my essay was just like my essay and I think the easy marks the first section of it

00:09so I think I'm glad I took my time with that.

00:11I think I did well at adapting my essay to the question

00:15because the question was good to mould the essay too.

00:19I thought my essay was pretty good.

00:21I got everything down which I wanted to get down

00:23and I think I answered the question pretty well so I was most happy with that.

00:27I don't think there's any secret to studying.

00:30You sort of just have to do it a lot and the more you do it the better you are at it

00:34so my top study tip would just be a lot of practice questions

00:37and using that to know your stuff well.

00:41My top study tip would be do it incrementally throughout the year

00:45and the load at the end of the year feels a lot less.

00:48I took notes throughout the year after every class lesson

00:51and it just made the end of the year a lot less stressful.

00:54It was just revision not catching up so yeah.

00:57My top study tip is to make sure you're comfortable when you're studying.

01:03Don't like wear your school clothes.

01:05Make sure you're comfortable.

01:06Have like a nice warm drink and you get in the mood for it.
