00:00The agency was established with the purpose of not only helping SMEs to succeed but also to flourish.

00:10Here in the SME House we provide services both from government and private institutions.

00:23The Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan was established back in 2017.

00:29The main goal of the agency is to increase the share of SMEs in the country's GDP.

00:35I am the real example, I'm standing here, woman entrepreneur, I am an exporter, I am SME.

00:41So what we did is dug out very ancient, very traditional recipes for jams, for fruit preserves, for anti-pasti sauces.

00:50And we all the time need different services.

00:53The Cobra has a specific infrastructure that puts small SMEs on the shelves of supermarkets.

00:59They help us to prepare the marketing plans.

01:09Entrepreneurs come here and get all the services both governmental and private in one space.

01:17It saves their time, gives them opportunity to speak with the representatives of different governmental institutions,

01:25ministries, different banks, private companies, international organisations.

01:31So we help SMEs go global by giving them opportunity to participate at different international events.

01:40As you know, we are SME, we can't afford having our own stands in international exhibitions because it's pretty pricey.

01:48That's what the Cobra does for us.

01:50They help us go on international markets, get the chance to make our presentation to the import customers.

01:57We have been together in Turkey, in Halal Expo, we have been in Dubai in Gulf Food, in Paris in Seattle, and many different places.

02:11One of the support tools that we provide to entrepreneurs, and it's mainly young people, is start-up certificates.

02:19So these certificates exempts them from taxes for a period of three years.

02:25There is also an online platform where they can have access to different government and public services.

02:33We have offices not only in Baku, but also in different regions of Azerbaijan.

02:39And we also have it internationally, and I'm very proud that how our services really help them from the beginning of establishing their business.

02:48We are not scared of challenges because we have tools to fight it, and COBI offers them.
