00:07His story is deeply tied to the very roots of Pakistan cricket, a time when the country
00:12was just finding its feet in the world of test cricket.
00:16He may have played only 20 test matches, fewer than his brothers Hanif, Mushtaq, and Sadiq
00:23Mohamad.
00:24But his contributions were vital during Pakistan's earliest cricketing triumph.
00:29Wazir Mohamad was a tough middle-order best man, remembered for his calm presence and
00:33unshakable defence.
00:35His most unforgettable moment came during their historic Oval Test in 1954, Pakistan's first-ever
00:42tour of England.
00:43When wickets were tumbling and Pakistan seemed finished, Wazir Mohamad walked in with quiet
00:49determination.
00:50Betting with the tail-enders, he stood firm for the four long hours, scoring an unbeaten
00:55victory.
00:56That helped Pakistan post a defendable total.
00:59That innings turned the match around and Pakistan went on to the record of a famous 24-run victory,
01:05their first-ever win in England.
01:07A few years later, against Australia in Karachi, Pakistan again found themselves in deep trouble

01:15Wazir Mohamad joined forces with Captain Abdul Hafiz Qardar to rescue the innings.

03:24He notched up 11 centuries and 26 fifties, with the highest individual score also being
03:29189. With the ball, he bowled 102 deliveries in first-class cricket but did not claim any
03:36wicket. In terms of aiding, he held 35 catches in his first-class career.
03:42Wazir Mohamad was right-handed batsman and bowled right arm occasionally, showing his exposure
