00:00Previously on Project Runway...
00:02Top 5.
00:04You'll be making a look for women and men who struggle with eczema.
00:08It should be comfortable on their skin, and it needs to produce a jaw-dropping reveal.
00:13This is gonna be bananas.
00:16Everybody here has won a challenge.
00:18I haven't won. I've been this close, and I'm like, this is my challenge.
00:22I don't know about the silver.
00:23It's a bit effeminate. I really like the design.
00:26Antonio and Vijay, you made our two favorite looks on the runway.
00:32Antonio, congratulations. You're the winner. You had our favorite look this week.
00:37I finally win!
00:40I think you being in the top is ludicrous.
00:43You didn't even have a reveal at all. What the f***?
00:46Polania, Jesus, both of your looks failed as a reveal.
00:49And even worse, you failed your client.
00:53You're both out.
00:56Whoa. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:59What the f***?
01:03A stake for the winner is $200,000, a spread in Elle magazine,
01:08and a life-changing mentorship with the CFDA.
01:12This is Project Runway.
01:14I told me!
01:14Tonight, you're both out.
01:28I'm in shock.
01:29Me and Jesus, we're the two that got two wins.
01:33This is out of control.
01:34I'm literally in lots of words.
01:39I've performed so well in this competition.
01:42I think I also delivered something nice on the runway, and I had a reveal.
01:46So I'm so confused as of why Vijay is not sitting in my spot right now.
01:51I'm sorry.
01:52But that is until someone convinced us otherwise.
02:07What?
02:09The f***?
02:09Hello.
02:11I think you're both really talented and worked really hard.
02:15I know you did, right?
02:17I convinced the judges that you both should stay.
02:24Oh, baby.
02:28Oh, I'm not going home.
02:32Oh, yes!
02:35If it wasn't for Christian, you both would be getting my ofidas in today.
02:40I don't think we should get rid of either of them.
02:42Really?
02:43They both won challenges.
02:44They're both talented.
02:45And then only three to the finale.
02:47I think it's a great idea.
02:48No, you can't pick me up.
02:52I'm not going to pick you up.
02:54This is so fun.
02:55Thank you.
02:55I'm so excited that my dream is still alive,
02:58and I have never been more motivated to make it the finale than I am right now.
03:03Good luck.
03:03Thank you so much.
03:04Good luck.
03:06This is great.
03:09They just went home?
03:10Oh, my God.
03:13I don't know.
03:15Bitch, I'm also in.
03:20No, but went home.
03:21No, but went home.
03:22No, but went home.
03:23No, but went home.
03:24Christian said that he wants to see both of us in because we've made great work.
03:30So, we're both safe.
03:32Are you kidding me?
03:33I want Jesus to go home.
03:35Christian, what are you doing?
03:38Shut up.
03:39The bitch is back, and I'm not going home.
03:43It's on.
03:44Get out.
03:44My way.
03:49Tots, toss, mama.
03:51Wow.
03:51Hello, designers.
03:54Hi, Heidi.
03:56The final five.
03:58I feel like I've said that before.
04:01Deja Vu.
04:02It's top five.
04:03We're all still here.
04:04I'm coming up a win.
04:05Wow.
04:07Let me take a deep breath.
04:11This feeling is good.
04:12I am more confident as a solo designer than I've ever been,
04:15and the finish line is really, really, really close.
04:19There's five of you, but unfortunately, only three of you will make it to the big finale.
04:26This is the most important challenge of this competition.
04:30This is the challenge before the finale, and knowing the two of us are going home,
04:35I can't mess this up.
04:37I just can't.
04:39Because this challenge determines who is going to the finale,
04:42we had to do something very, very special.
04:45Take a look.
04:47Roll the clip!
04:49Oh, hi, Heidi.
04:50Oh, girl!
04:52And hello, designers.
04:54It's Oz's most popular witches.
04:55Whoa.
04:56Ah!
04:57Cynthia!
04:58Ariana!
04:58We hear this season of Project Runway has more twists and turns than the yellow brick road.
05:03And we're certain the experience has changed you for good.
05:06We wish we could be there in person, but you are in amazing and talented hands.
05:10We're pleased to welcome to the runway the most swankified man in Oz.
05:13Oscar-winning costume designer of Wicked.
05:15And the upcoming Wicked for Good, Paul Tazewell.
05:18Good luck, designers.
05:19Wow.
05:20Ah!
05:21Wow.
05:21Wow.
05:22Wow.
05:23Woo!
05:23Are you crying?
05:25Designers?
05:26Wow.
05:26It is such an honor to have you in here.
05:29Oh, thank you.
05:29It's so great to be here.
05:30Oh, thank you.
05:31Thank you.
05:32Paul Tazewell is the first African-American man to win an Oscar for Best Costume Design.
05:40On top of, like, all his other accolades, because he's been really running these costume design Broadway streets since the 90s.
05:46So, you know, just in the presence of an icon, no big deal.
05:49You will be creating an avant-garde look based on the themes of the upcoming movie Wicked.
05:56Wicked for Good.
05:58To help inspire you, you are getting a sneak peek.
06:02Stop.
06:03Stop.
06:04Because I knew you.
06:07You're the only friend I ever had.
06:10Because I knew you.
06:13But there's no going back.
06:15Because I knew you.
06:19They're coming for you.
06:20Think of what we can do together.
06:28For you.
06:34Wow.
06:37I can relate to this so much because Antonio and I have such a strong brotherhood.
06:43And Glenda and Elphaba have such a strong sisterhood.
06:46So, like, wow, this is such a beautiful challenge for Antonio and I.
06:50Wicked focuses on the power of friendship, marginalization of people that are different, and also self-empowerment.
06:59So it's on you, hopefully, to take that inspiration and create it in your own way and reimagine the idea of Oz.
07:07And what if I told you, you might have not only one day, but, you know, two days!
07:17Oh, my God.
07:18Finally!
07:19Girl, I'm about to cry.
07:21A lot of emotions.
07:22I got saved.
07:23Paul Taswell.
07:24Wicked.
07:25Avant-garde.
07:26Damn it.
07:27Paul and Christian will meet you guys in the workroom, where there will be some other surprises.
07:32So enjoy.
07:33Good luck to all of you.
07:35To show.
07:37Look at it.
07:38Go.
07:39Yeah.
07:40Oh, my God!
07:42Hi, designers.
07:44So fragile, so expensive, so designer.
07:47Is this for Rio?
07:50So, not only did you get a special look at the film, you also get this fabulous special look at the costumes from the film,
07:56which is incredible.
07:57And you're going to get to talk directly with the man who made it all come to life.
08:01What you see before you is Elphaba and Glinda.
08:05For Elphaba, I leaned into all that was organic.
08:09I was influenced by mycelia, bark, the underside of mushrooms.
08:15Speechless.
08:15With Glinda, it's all that is artificial, all that is sparkly and beautiful.
08:20I then wanted to really establish that idea of the iridescent bubble, swirls, and those things that are whimsical.
08:29And pink and green define what the world of Wicked is.
08:32Think about this idea, taking the inspiration of Wicked for good, but still avant-garde.
08:37And whatever that means to you and your brand and your work, still needs to be fashion.
08:41It's still a runway.
08:42Push it.
08:43Really hard.
08:44You guys go sketch and we'll come around.
08:49This is my challenge.
08:52I'm good at avant-garde.
08:54Good luck to the designers.
08:55Good luck.
08:56Hi, I'm Glinda.
08:58Obviously.
08:59I'm thinking about doing a head-to-toe pink beaded bodysuit with gloves and do a beautiful cape of our gants out.
09:08Amazing.
09:09Well, make sure that you're also thinking about avant-garde, like something you've never seen before.
09:12Because, like, a pink bodysuit is fabulous, but, like, Jennifer Lopez will literally wear that every single night.
09:17And a flower cape, Valentino's made for, like, 20 years.
09:21So push it more.
09:23I'm not worried at all.
09:24I hope my win last week can carry me through this challenge and into the finale.
09:29My biggest competition is my brother, and I feel like I finally catch up to him.
09:34The judges really are going to see what Antonio Estrada is capable of.
09:38I wanted to tap more into the nature side, so I thought about a beautiful tree.
09:42Nature has no linear lines, so.
09:44Absolutely.
09:45But remember, you know, you still want that fashion moment.
09:48I'm trying to use the design style that I discovered for myself, sophisticated streetwear, and push it to avant-garde.
09:57The pressure is turned up to 5,000, and I really, really, really want to make it to the finale, so I'm determined to deliver.
10:06Wicked For Good is a movie about friendship being torn apart, and I kind of want to create a fabric that's kind of, like, peeling off or being torn apart.
10:17I really want it to be crazy, but in a good way.
10:20I mean, what I'm seeing is really exciting.
10:22Huge fan of texture.
10:23Also, like, your work is, you know, very quiet sometimes.
10:26I think this has to be the fantasy.
10:28Yes.
10:29Right?
10:29I really agree with Christian.
10:31My work, it's very quiet because I think that there is beauty in simplicity, but avant-garde should not be quiet.
10:41I love to play with restraint.
10:43A lot of Elphaba's journey, she's restraining herself because of her skin.
10:49Growing up, I was a little queer kid, and I didn't know really how to express myself.
10:54And so, when I saw Wicked, it did help me, like, feel comfortable on my own skin, and, yeah, it really means a lot to me.
11:00Oh, I'm obsessed.
11:02And so I want to play with this beautiful crystal overlay off the shoulders, just it flowing down into just beautiful fabric.
11:12You did do the first challenge where you had a glove through your giant wind cape, and that standing still might not be enough.
11:21This needs to be incredible, which you, above all people, can do.
11:30Avant-garde is my bread and butter.
11:31I think that I could do a hybrid of what I've done before, but these decisions are the ones that are going to push me into the finale, so I've got to make the right decisions.
11:39It's a lot of pressure.
11:40I have a really strong connection with Elphaba.
11:45I want to create this really amazing avant-garde coat dress with really huge hips.
11:53I don't know if avant-garde is in Jesus' wheelhouse, because he makes a lot of beautiful dresses, but a beautiful dress is not avant-garde.
12:02Then I want to mold the collar into around the neck and into a hat.
12:07I mean, the silhouette of the dress is something that we've seen before.
12:10It's literally exactly the same.
12:13I don't know what he's thinking.
12:14This challenge might be Jesus' downfall.
12:18I got this.
12:23And we're back.
12:24This is probably the most important chop of the season.
12:26Five of you left.
12:27Two of you go home on this challenge.
12:29Fabric is so important.
12:3030 minutes, $1,000 a shot.
12:33I love money, and I love spending other people's money.
12:36Ready, go.
12:37On your broomsticks.
12:44I have been eyeing this crystal fabric, and I find this beautiful green satin.
12:51My original plan was in silver because of Glinda's shoes, but that crystal fabric is more of a green tone.
12:58So, like, green is just a natural choice.
13:01BJ, all this red is for you.
13:04A lot of your budgets go into this one fabric.
13:06Setting myself apart from other designers is a strategy that I've used for the entire competition,
13:12because you need to have a unique point of view.
13:15All going to be red.
13:17Yes.
13:17The whole thing.
13:18Yes.
13:18Very powerful.
13:19It's a risk to use red, because I know that this is not the usual colors that you can associate with a movie, but no risk, no reward.
13:29Can I see your sketch, BJ?
13:30No.
13:30I don't know yet what I'm making.
13:33Well, I just want to see what you sketched.
13:35I don't know yet what I'm making.
13:36You don't have to show him.
13:37I like that she doesn't show anybody.
13:39No.
13:39Like, you can't get it at her.
13:41She's trying to win.
13:42I like it.
13:43All right, designers, one minute left.
13:45Ah, anxiety.
13:47What color are you using?
13:49Green.
13:50Oh, my God.
13:51You and Ethan are both using green.
13:53So, it's a battle between who has the best green look.
13:57Bitch, I'm not worried.
13:59He was not supposed to do green.
14:01He was supposed to do silver.
14:02I'm his biggest threat.
14:03Can you see what's inside of that?
14:08Bitch, you never want to show me your sketch.
14:10You want to see my fabric?
14:12BJ is a silent killer.
14:13I'll see it later.
14:14She never wants to show anybody her sketch.
14:16When you show me your sketch, I'll show you my fabric.
14:19I'm not showing you my sketch.
14:20Game is on, BJ.
14:26Let's make some magic happen.
14:33You guys really bought expensive fabrics.
14:36How much is it a yard?
14:38This is $750 a yard.
14:40Wow.
14:41Jesus said you copied his color.
14:46Get it straight, bitch.
14:47I don't want you to, like, start tea.
14:49But I never said that he was copying me.
14:51Don't put words in my mouth.
14:52You just accused me of saying that he copied me,
14:55and I didn't say that.
14:56Let me just clear the air.
14:57I want to clear it because you're starting tea.
14:59I'm just, like, asking why both of you are using green.
15:02You're initially going for silver.
15:05No, the original plan was that Ethan was going to use silver.
15:08I was going to do the green,
15:09and Antonio was going to do pink.
15:10Pink.
15:11Okay.
15:11Because we're hoping that we're on the top three.
15:13Period.
15:15Whoa.
15:15Whoa.
15:16Damn.
15:17What?
15:17Bitch.
15:19But I never said that he was copying me.
15:22Don't put words in my mouth.
15:23He said that you change it to green.
15:25Actually, my original thought was green.
15:28But then I thought, oh, what if I switch it to silver for the shoes?
15:32I'm not copying nobody.
15:33I'm just doing the correct branding.
15:35No one here owns green.
15:37She's got to go home.
15:40I know it's like when I'm, this is like the moment that I'm like,
15:43bitch, it's on.
15:45Jesus is fuming.
15:46I can already feel his heat coming down from his pores.
15:49I have my popcorn ready.
15:52Y'all are spicy.
15:53This is just getting me more fuel to send you home.
15:58Jesus can go from zero to 200%.
16:02And I am the opposite.
16:04I'm not taking it in a very personal level.
16:06But I think Jesus cannot do that.
16:09So there's going to be chaos and war.
16:12Let's see which bitch goes home.
16:13It's like, I'm done with it.
16:15I don't want that.
16:16She really is a shit starter.
16:18She's a shit starter.
16:19Uh-huh.
16:20I don't hear shit.
16:21I don't know shit.
16:21Nope, it's very serious.
16:23And I don't like it.
16:25You don't with the Gemini.
16:26Oh my God.
16:29I've gotten nowhere with my garment.
16:31I don't have time for this, y'all.
16:35I'm going to change mine into a gown.
16:37The fabric is too beautiful not to do a gown.
16:41I have a question with both of you.
16:43Like, this is like a random question.
16:46Uh-oh.
16:46For example, just let's say, of course,
16:49ideally, both of you want to be in the finale.
16:51But let's say there's only one.
16:53Have you guys talked about who do you think
16:56deserve it more?
16:59This is just like an honest.
17:00I think Antonia started in the bottom
17:02and then you started in the top.
17:04And then during the entire competition,
17:07it's kind of like he's on the top,
17:09on the top, on the top, and then like...
17:10Rich.
17:11What are you talking about?
17:13Honey, I'm just going up.
17:14I'm not saying you're going down.
17:15No, listen to me.
17:16I'm just going up.
17:19Security!
17:21Security!
17:22We need security on set.
17:25You never know.
17:26Like, last challenge,
17:27it was just sharp to me that
17:28I was in the bottom.
17:29You should have gone home, period.
17:34I mean, I like my look.
17:36When I ask a question,
17:37I'm just trying to know you
17:38and to get to know you.
17:40But I get in trouble sometimes
17:42because I'm always very honest.
17:44And sometimes I lose friends.
17:46Because of that,
17:47it might come across offensive.
17:49You missed the challenge, honey.
17:51Why did I miss it?
17:52Because there was no reveal.
17:53There was a reveal?
17:54The Christmas sweater?
17:55I'd rather wear a Christmas sweater
17:58rather than dancing with the stars
18:01that looks like a magician.
18:02My coat was stronger
18:03than all your three pieces
18:05if you really want to go there.
18:07Wow.
18:09My God, this week
18:10is to tenir a son.
18:13You're a fighting bitch.
18:15Oh, my God.
18:16Starting trouble.
18:17She's not going to with me.
18:19This is very loud.
18:25I'm not really trying
18:27to create drama.
18:31She looks at me.
18:32I'm like,
18:33bye.
18:36More comment.
18:38Jesus and I fight a lot.
18:40But for me,
18:41it's coming from competition.
18:44You put two competitive people
18:47in one group.
18:48So what would you expect?
18:49You know,
18:50we're not going to hug each other.
18:51We're going to stop each other
18:52because we want to win
18:53and it's normal.
18:54She said,
18:55I'm going to start to do star drama.
18:57I'm like, yeah, but you did.
18:58She is drama.
18:59You don't have a DNA, honey.
19:01All your looks
19:01look from different designers.
19:03Vigia has always seen us
19:05as frenemies,
19:06but she's pushed me
19:07way too far.
19:09I don't know
19:09if it's her strategy
19:10to make it to the top
19:11because I truly
19:13have no idea
19:14why she's still
19:15in this competition.
19:17You really want me
19:17to go there.
19:18Ready, set, go.
19:20Hi, everybody.
19:21Christian.
19:22There's not that much done.
19:24I was going to do
19:28a jumpsuit.
19:28I kind of had a nightmare
19:29that J-Lo sent me home,
19:31so I changed my mind.
19:33I'm not doing a cave.
19:34It's almost like a shawl,
19:35but I want to make it big
19:36and I want to make
19:37my own flowers.
19:38It has to be huge.
19:40Focus on this
19:40wow moment piece.
19:42You need a flower cocoon.
19:44Flower cocoon bubble.
19:46Let me write that down.
19:48How do you spell cocoon?
19:48Cocoon.
19:49I don't know.
19:51C-A-C-O-O-N?
19:58This is one of
20:00Alphaba's friends
20:00from the forest.
20:01Tree creature.
20:03Yes.
20:03This is really cool.
20:05It was really hard
20:05to find texture
20:06and the right color
20:07of trees and moss.
20:08I don't think
20:09you should go
20:10too costume-esque,
20:13like a tree.
20:15What's going to make
20:16you stand out?
20:17Knowing that I could
20:18have gone home
20:19in the last challenge
20:20is shaking my confidence.
20:22I'm worried about my look
20:23not standing out
20:25in the room full of glitter,
20:28sparkle, and 3D definition.
20:31I'm concerned.
20:33Who is she?
20:34Lady Godiva.
20:36So you're sticking
20:36with your plan,
20:37like you're not going
20:38to see the body at all.
20:39Yeah.
20:39Like you're covering
20:40her up in green.
20:41Even if it was just
20:42a small amount
20:43into a V or something.
20:46You know, I could
20:46plunge this down
20:48and really get it
20:49close to the body.
20:50I think so.
20:51I don't want them
20:52to be like,
20:53this just isn't enough.
20:54Throughout this competition,
20:55I have had to tone it down
20:57because, you know,
20:59my sentiments for fashion
21:00is really loud and bananas.
21:02But this challenge
21:03is my opportunity
21:05to really turn
21:06what I'm good at
21:07up to 100.
21:08This is that one challenge
21:10you could push it
21:10even just a little bit more.
21:12Okay.
21:13I don't want it
21:15to kind of look like
21:16what I did for
21:17Unconventional,
21:18you know, the gown.
21:18I want to make her
21:19a little more sexy.
21:20I think you can do all this.
21:22I've just met me.
21:23I know, but it's a lot of work.
21:25I can handle it.
21:27I need to send her home.
21:27You really,
21:28I guess,
21:29what did you just say?
21:30BJ just killed the vibe
21:31not too long ago.
21:33She,
21:34she's one of those.
21:36I am sad
21:36because there's a lot
21:37of assumptions
21:38that I am steering the pot.
21:40One of the things
21:40that I learned
21:41in this competition
21:42is that
21:42you've got to be
21:43very careful
21:44because people just
21:45really create
21:46drama out of nothing.
21:48BJ, the room
21:49is very frazzled
21:50about you today.
21:51I know.
21:52I don't know why.
21:54It just feels so weird
21:55because they,
21:56they thought that I should,
21:57that I should got
21:58eliminated last challenge.
22:01I don't know.
22:03Alphaba is a person
22:04that kind of like
22:05being rejected
22:06for who she is.
22:07And, you know,
22:08it's like,
22:08yeah,
22:09it's like,
22:10you know,
22:10it's like,
22:11I felt rejection
22:11so many times
22:12and it's not that easy.
22:14It's kind of like,
22:14I kind of relate
22:15to that character
22:16as a trans woman
22:17being rejected,
22:19being said no
22:20a lot of times
22:21about her.
22:22It's like,
22:24no matter how hard it is.
22:27Understood.
22:27Yeah.
22:28Trust me,
22:28I was an out
22:29little gay boy
22:30when I was on this.
22:31Yeah.
22:31In 2008.
22:32Yeah.
22:33It was rough.
22:34It wasn't fun.
22:35Yeah.
22:35But you're here
22:36and there's so many
22:36allies in the world
22:37and people are going
22:38to be so inspired by you.
22:40There are things about me
22:41that people don't understand.
22:44As an immigrant woman,
22:45as a trans woman,
22:47and as a fierce competitor,
22:49but those are the things
22:50that I like about me.
22:52I see my uniqueness
22:53as a special power
22:55and I want to channel
22:56all of that
22:57into this design.
22:58You get to create
23:00and show people
23:01what you can do.
23:02Yeah.
23:03So be proud of yourself.
23:04You get to be proud of yourself.
23:09Smittles, baby!
23:13Here we are.
23:14Here we are.
23:15A little trepidatious
23:17about them being like,
23:20it's too similar
23:21to the first one.
23:23But it's a totally
23:24different headpiece.
23:26Totally different.
23:27Yeah.
23:28There's not a lot
23:28of time to pivot
23:29and pivoting last week
23:32hurt a lot,
23:33but I'm hoping
23:35that I kill it.
23:36One stumble
23:36could let me fall
23:37out of this competition.
23:39Oh no!
23:40I think I could be in trouble.
23:41When the beat drops
23:45Hands up, hands up
23:47When the beat drops
23:48Hello, designers!
23:50Hi!
23:51Hello!
23:52Wow, what an honor.
23:54Hey, it's far!
23:55Oh my God,
23:56an Oscar winner.
23:57I have never had
23:59an opportunity
23:59to have my work
24:00critiqued
24:01by an Oscar winner.
24:03How are you?
24:04It's a pleasure.
24:05So this is...
24:07This is it.
24:08Definitely avant-garde
24:10and it would be great
24:11to understand direction
24:13so that it doesn't
24:15feel random.
24:16Okay, I'll do that.
24:17It needs to be
24:18intentional.
24:19Yeah.
24:20My worry is that
24:21are they gonna get it?
24:22Are they gonna see Wicked?
24:24The face of your model
24:25is open
24:26and how does it relate
24:27to the green skin?
24:30I think it could be
24:31kind of cool
24:31if all of her face
24:32was covered too.
24:33Well, that's what
24:34I was wondering as well
24:35and I think that it would
24:36also push the avant-garde.
24:37It's a good idea.
24:38Yeah, I'm excited
24:39to see that.
24:40Thank you.
24:41Antonio.
24:42Hello, your majesty.
24:47Thank you.
24:48Tell me about your design.
24:49So, originally
24:50when we spoke
24:51I wanted to do
24:52a cat suit.
24:53I remember Chris was like,
24:54oh, J-Lo's done that.
24:55I'm like, you know what?
24:56Right, right, right.
24:56I'm trying to do
24:56the most beautiful
24:58evening kind of
24:59ever made.
25:00And I'm adding
25:02the green heart
25:02because it's a special
25:04place for my alfaba
25:05which is my twin brother.
25:08Okay.
25:09We've seen many
25:11evening dresses.
25:12How is this
25:13an avant-garde
25:14statement?
25:15Because
25:16this poppy flower
25:17that's on the floor
25:18it's gonna be
25:19her flower cocoon.
25:21Kind of like wings?
25:25Pushing your silhouette
25:26is the direction
25:27that I would suggest.
25:28Really make it
25:30something we've
25:30never seen before.
25:31I mean, that was
25:32fueling almost
25:33all of my decisions
25:34when I was
25:34designing Wicked.
25:35So, how can you
25:36take us to
25:37that next level?
25:38This is my
25:39interpretation
25:39of her hat.
25:41Right?
25:42So, I want the point
25:43to be dramatic
25:43like avant-garde.
25:45And I wanted
25:46to do a 3D heart
25:48because, you know,
25:48my brother's doing green
25:49and I mixed
25:50the pink in it.
25:51The twins, obviously,
25:53are helping each other
25:55but they're not
25:56helping each other
25:57editing the look.
26:00If I'm Jesus,
26:01I will tell Antonio
26:02right now
26:03to get rid of
26:04that ugly flower.
26:07It represents
26:08the love that she
26:09will forever in her life
26:10have for Glenda.
26:12Wonderful.
26:12It touches my heart.
26:14There may be
26:15strengths in what
26:16you have already
26:17that if you focus
26:18on that
26:18and make that
26:18really beautiful
26:19then you really
26:20won't lead to
26:21anything else.
26:22Where I'm at
26:22in my process
26:23is getting the
26:24moss effect
26:25full throttle going.
26:27What I see
26:28currently are
26:29silhouettes
26:30that in and
26:31themselves
26:32are interesting.
26:33It's how do you
26:34keep all of it
26:35talking to each other.
26:37Talking to each other.
26:39Mmm.
26:40I like Bolaunias
26:41but it doesn't
26:41read avant-garde.
26:43It reads street wear.
26:45There's a lot at stake
26:46because two people
26:47are going to go
26:48so girl go big.
26:50Push yourself
26:51beyond your comfort zone.
26:52That's what
26:52avant-garde is all about.
26:54Everybody
26:54I'm hugely impressed.
26:57So win or lose
26:58let's rejoice-ify.
27:00Yeah!
27:02Bye.
27:02Bye.
27:03Oh I hope it works.
27:04Tomorrow
27:05two of you
27:06go home
27:07and get to watch
27:08me in the finale.
27:09Hey!
27:16Guys, this is it.
27:22I woke up
27:23feeling like
27:23a wicked bitch.
27:26Ah!
27:27What are you looking?
27:28It ain't much
27:29so much better.
27:30I like this more.
27:32Hi everybody!
27:33Hi person!
27:34You have an hour
27:35and a half left.
27:36That's it?
27:36Oh my god.
27:37Uh-huh.
27:38It's a moment.
27:40What if you cut it off
27:40just like leave this
27:42but cut this off
27:43so it can
27:44It can bellow.
27:44This is making it heavy.
27:47Wow!
27:47She's very
27:48Victoria's Secret Angel.
27:50Uh-huh.
27:50All right models
27:51to hair and makeup.
27:53Let's go!
27:55Ah!
27:56Perfect.
27:57Gorgeous.
27:58The lighter shade
27:58so her eyes could pop
27:59maybe like from the corner out.
28:01Nude lip
28:02and lashes.
28:04You should fix
28:05the inside of this garment
28:07because that's gonna
28:08get you home.
28:09Click your heels
28:09but I don't think
28:10you want to go there.
28:11How much time
28:12do we have left?
28:12Ten minutes.
28:13Oh!
28:16This is it.
28:17Only three out of five
28:19are going to the finale.
28:20I want it.
28:21That's it.
28:22Time to head
28:23to the runway.
28:24That's it baby.
28:27Yeah!
28:28Hello!
28:29Hi!
28:31Welcome to the runway.
28:32The final five!
28:33Yes!
28:34As you know
28:35in fashion
28:35one day you're in
28:36and the next day
28:37you're out.
28:38But tonight
28:38two unfortunately
28:40will be out.
28:42For this challenge
28:43you had to create
28:44an avant-garde look
28:45based on the themes
28:46from the new film
28:47Wicked For Good.
28:49And please tell me
28:50what was it like
28:50having Paul's input
28:51and looking at your designs?
28:53Oh my god.
28:54It was extremely magical.
28:56He's also right over there.
28:58Hi Paul!
28:59You're here.
29:00Thank you.
29:01Thank you so much Paul
29:02for all the guidance
29:03that you've given
29:03the designers.
29:05Absolutely.
29:05My pleasure.
29:06Let's meet the judges.
29:08CFDA award winning
29:09stylist
29:09and image architect
29:11La Roche.
29:12Yes La!
29:13Hello!
29:14Editor of Elle magazine
29:15Nina Garcia.
29:16Woo!
29:18And my friend
29:19supermodel
29:20actress, producer,
29:22fashion diva
29:23and wicked fan
29:24Tyra Banks.
29:25Woo!
29:26Woo!
29:26Woo!
29:27Woo!
29:27Woo!
29:28Woo!
29:28Vee Banks herself.
29:31Miss Ty Tyra Banks.
29:33Let's start the show.
29:42I love my love.
29:44She was morphing
29:45into the dress
29:46and the dress
29:47is morphing
29:47into the hat.
29:48It's gorge.
29:49Stunning.
29:51My vision
29:51has come to life
29:53to perfection.
29:54Such an iconic moment.
29:56Uva gorge.
29:57I've accomplished
30:06everything I wanted
30:07to accomplish
30:08for this look.
30:10She looks
30:10so, so elegant
30:12and so avant-garde.
30:15It's making me feel
30:17so proud of myself.
30:18When your eyes are
30:20You can walk to me,
30:21talk to me.
30:22I'm happy
30:23seeing this green
30:24goddess walk
30:25down the runway.
30:26My look
30:27does not have sparkle.
30:29It does not have
30:30that much volume.
30:31But it's me.
30:32Definitely me.
30:33And I'm obsessed.
30:34I am hopeful
30:35that it's still enough
30:36to get me to the finale.
30:38Oh, you're messing
30:41with trouble.
30:42Seeing my look
30:44walk on the runway,
30:45I feel the spiral detail
30:47is so beautiful
30:49and the movement,
30:51it's so powerful.
30:52I mean,
30:53the color
30:53is so dramatic.
30:55and I'm really,
30:56really happy
30:57with the outcome
30:58of the dress.
30:59I'm not regular.
31:07This is all so magical
31:08to be able to see
31:09my look just fly
31:11down the runway.
31:12It's sparkling
31:13under the light.
31:14The lines are gorgeous.
31:15It looks expensive.
31:17It looks unique.
31:18It looks so avant-garde.
31:21And I think that
31:22I did myself
31:22so proud today.
31:24It looks so good.
31:27Yeah.
31:31This is going to be
31:31so hard today.
31:33Oh, my gosh.
31:34Designers,
31:35please step onto
31:36the runway.
31:39We've scored your designs
31:41and we want to talk
31:41to all of you.
31:42Jesus,
31:43we're going to start
31:43with you and your model.
31:46I really wanted
31:47to just create
31:47something very powerful.
31:49I wanted to do a heart
31:51to incorporate
31:52the paint
31:53of Antonio's fabric
31:55because, to me,
31:56it represents
31:57the love that Elphaba
31:58has for Glinda,
31:59but for me,
32:01it's the love
32:02that I have
32:02for my twin brother.
32:03Avant-garde
32:04means being innovative,
32:06being experimental,
32:08and that all
32:11came through.
32:13It really is
32:14pushing the boundaries.
32:16Thank you.
32:17Well done.
32:19Oh, Jesus.
32:21It's okay to be emotional.
32:23I think it's really,
32:24really, really beautiful.
32:26Now,
32:27the shoes came out
32:28really draggy to me.
32:29But you know what?
32:30This is a runway look.
32:32This is the avant-garde moment
32:34when you can be outrageous.
32:36Gonna hit Nina first.
32:37She's gonna photograph it.
32:39No, it's gonna hit me first
32:40because I'm gonna get it
32:40right off the red carpet.
32:41Oh, no, we're gonna get it.
32:43Oh, no, no, no, no, no.
32:43Yes, baby, we get it first.
32:45No, I get it first, man.
32:47It depends on your celebrity.
32:48Sorry.
32:48And we know who my celebrity is.
32:50All right.
32:51Nina came back feisty tonight.
32:53Yes, ma'am.
32:53I know.
32:54That's what you say
32:54every time I come here.
32:56Whatever.
32:57Jesus.
32:58Kyra.
32:58I don't see two days.
33:00I see two months.
33:01Yes.
33:02I did love the look.
33:03It came out
33:03and I was like,
33:04wow, the sparkles,
33:06how you place them all.
33:07I don't know.
33:08It just gives it
33:08this kind of texture
33:10in a way.
33:11It's divine.
33:12Thank you so much.
33:13Thank you.
33:14Okay, Antonio,
33:15let's get your model out.
33:17I knew that I was gonna do
33:18a pink dress
33:19inspired by Glinda.
33:21Mm-hmm.
33:21And what really came to my mind
33:23is the poppy flower
33:25in the movie.
33:25I love the dress.
33:26I think the dress is beautiful.
33:28Does it read to me
33:29immediately wicked?
33:31No.
33:32I'm seeing a little bit
33:33more Vegas.
33:34The construction
33:35on the actual dress
33:36is really beautiful.
33:37Let's talk about the back
33:38because that's what
33:39I'm most troubled with.
33:41That's a disaster
33:42and it is not
33:44defying gravity.
33:46It's bad.
33:47Tell the truth.
33:48Shame the devil.
33:49It's, it's, it's, it's, it's a,
33:51it's like a bad piñata.
33:53I know that deep inside,
33:55you know this is
33:56catastrophic.
34:01Antonio.
34:01I know that deep inside,
34:03you know this is
34:04catastrophic.
34:07The back of the dress
34:08looks really unfinished.
34:10I see all your seam works.
34:11It is a bit messy
34:12from the back,
34:13but I do love the volume.
34:15This brought me back,
34:16I feel like,
34:17to the beginning.
34:18So even though
34:19I was rising to the top,
34:21I feel like I'm back
34:21to square one,
34:22so I'm shutting down.
34:26Um, I think the dress
34:28is beautiful
34:28and I actually
34:30like the flower.
34:33I want it.
34:34You can have it, Tyra.
34:35Thank you, Antonio.
34:36Hi, Vijay.
34:37Hi, Heidi.
34:38Let's bring out
34:39your model.
34:40Wicked for Good
34:41is about friendship
34:43being torn apart.
34:44So I bought red silk
34:46and I literally
34:46shredded it apart.
34:49And Paul mentioned
34:50that one of the
34:52most important
34:52design elements
34:53for Wicked
34:54is the spiral.
34:56The deconstruction
34:57of wrapping that boning
35:00and making it look shredded
35:02looks fantastic.
35:03The shoe is spectacular.
35:06Kind of took my breath away.
35:08There was a lot
35:09of creativity to it.
35:11I really loved it.
35:12I think it's beautiful.
35:13I think it's avant-garde.
35:14And then the shoe
35:15looks clunky.
35:16Does it read Wicked to me?
35:18No.
35:19The red totally
35:20threw me off.
35:20Had this been in green
35:22or black,
35:23you could have told
35:23the same story
35:24and it would have made
35:26more sense
35:26for the movie.
35:29But I do think
35:30that you did make
35:30something really interesting.
35:32I used to teach branding
35:33and there are certain things
35:34with branding
35:35that are non-negotiables
35:37and one of those
35:38and one of those
35:38is color.
35:39So for me,
35:40that's like a big miss,
35:41like a huge miss.
35:43Thank you, Vijay.
35:44Thank you.
35:44Thank you so much.
35:45Okay, Ethan,
35:46let's bring out your model.
35:48This could have easily
35:48been a $50,000
35:51couture dress
35:52and you ruined it
35:53with those underwear.
35:55That is one of my biggest
35:56pet peeves
35:57on the red carpet
35:58when it's the wrong
35:59underwear.
36:00But it's fab.
36:02I love the addition
36:03of the ostrich feathers.
36:05It also is Elphaba
36:06with the cape
36:07and the end
36:08of the first movie
36:09when Glenda threw
36:10that cloak around her
36:11and she flew off.
36:12I think you did
36:12an incredible job.
36:14It's gorge.
36:15I mean,
36:15you definitely took a risk
36:16by hiding her face
36:18because it could have been
36:19like they either hate it
36:20or love it.
36:20I happen to love it.
36:21You know,
36:22it's like,
36:23ah.
36:24What I like the most
36:25about your work
36:26is when you play
36:28with these opposites,
36:29right?
36:30So here is
36:31a sense of modesty
36:32but at the same time
36:34of sexiness.
36:35I was just blown away.
36:37I think it's very stunning.
36:38This is unique.
36:39This is special.
36:41Thank you, Ethan.
36:42Thank you all so much.
36:44You can leave the runway.
36:45Thank you, baby.
36:46Okay, Polonia,
36:47let's bring out
36:47your avant-garde look.
36:49Paul was explaining
36:51his inspiration.
36:52He went to nature
36:53to see all the textures
36:55and the colors
36:56and I was inspired deeply
36:57because I'm a plant person
36:58but since this is avant-garde,
37:01I had to go
37:01a little bit bigger.
37:02I'm so torn here.
37:04I love the gouches.
37:06However,
37:06I don't know
37:07about that tail.
37:08It's giving me
37:08a little crocodile tail
37:10and it's not even even.
37:12So there's a...
37:13Well, yeah,
37:13that speaks to nature
37:14and the unevenness
37:15in nature.
37:16It's supposed to be
37:17representative of moss.
37:17But does it give you
37:18a little crocodile,
37:19alligator tail?
37:20To me,
37:21personally,
37:21no, it doesn't.
37:22I love it.
37:23I think there's
37:23different levels
37:24of avant-garde.
37:26Right.
37:26There's avant-garde
37:27couture
37:28and there's avant-garde
37:30street fashion.
37:31I think it's
37:31absolutely stunning.
37:33My issue is
37:34everybody else
37:35took a chance
37:36and I think
37:37this was pretty safe.
37:38In your opinion,
37:39what you've seen so far?
37:40That's not helping you, babe.
37:43Really?
37:44You don't think
37:44this is you?
37:45I think this is you.
37:46I'm uncomfortable
37:46putting this on the rack.
37:47I love it,
37:47but this is,
37:48to me,
37:48this is like big.
37:50Well,
37:50you're going to have
37:51to be uncomfortable
37:51a lot in this business.
37:54That's the name
37:55of the game.
37:55Fashion is all
37:56about the new.
37:58It's safe.
38:00Delania,
38:00be quiet.
38:01I have never yelled
38:02at a girl like this before.
38:04I was rooted for you.
38:05We were all rooted for you.
38:07God.
38:08Is it really
38:08that serious?
38:09Oh, bitch, it is.
38:11That was iconic.
38:12Now,
38:13let me critique you seriously.
38:14I actually agree
38:15with Tyra.
38:16Rick Owens
38:16is considered
38:17to be one of
38:18the greatest avant-garde
38:19designers of our generation.
38:21And for me,
38:22this is what that feels like.
38:23I do think it's avant-garde,
38:25and I do think
38:25it's really beautiful.
38:26It's the thing
38:27of not being able
38:29to take the critiques
38:30that loses me
38:31with you every single time.
38:33Because if I didn't care,
38:34I wouldn't say anything.
38:35I always say, like,
38:37cuss us out in your head.
38:38Right.
38:39I'm sorry.
38:40I'm not trying
38:41to be disrespectful.
38:45If I didn't care,
38:46I wouldn't say anything.
38:47I always say, like,
38:48cuss us out in your head.
38:50Right.
38:52I'm sorry.
38:52I'm not trying
38:53to be disrespectful.
38:54That's okay.
38:55Thank you.
38:56Sorry.
38:57I gave yours
38:58a high score.
38:59Thank you.
39:00I knew immediately
39:01that it was yours.
39:02I also did see Alphaba.
39:04She looks modern also.
39:06You know,
39:07this is now.
39:08Thank you, Belania.
39:09Thank you.
39:10There's five of you,
39:12but unfortunately,
39:12only three of you
39:14will make it
39:14to the big finale.
39:15Antonio,
39:17should you be
39:18in the finale?
39:19Please tell us
39:20what two designers
39:21do you think
39:22should come with you?
39:24Who do you think
39:25you should say?
39:25I would love to see
39:27my brother
39:28do a collection,
39:29and I would love
39:31to see Ethan
39:33do a collection.
39:34I've been so proud
39:35of what he's been doing
39:36in the competition.
39:37Belania,
39:38who would you take
39:39with you?
39:39God.
39:42I would go
39:44with the two twins.
39:45So you'll send BJ
39:47and Ethan home?
39:49Yeah,
39:49that's what I'm saying.
39:51No,
39:51that's coming
39:52from your heart.
39:52I think it's very brave.
39:55Ethan,
39:55what about you?
39:57This is tough.
40:01The twins.
40:04Throughout the whole
40:04competition,
40:05I have volleyed
40:06so many ideas
40:07and my work
40:08has grown
40:09so much.
40:10Like,
40:10they've been just
40:11watering the seeds
40:12the whole time.
40:13Aw,
40:14that's nice.
40:15Hey,
40:16Jesus.
40:17I would,
40:17of course,
40:18like to see
40:19my brother
40:19be in the finale
40:20with me
40:20because I am
40:21so proud
40:22of what he's done
40:23and what he's learned
40:24in this competition.
40:25And then,
40:26Ethan,
40:27I saw the growth
40:27in him
40:28through this competition.
40:29I would love
40:31for top four
40:32because I think
40:33Belania found
40:33who she truly is
40:34as a designer.
40:35I truly don't know
40:37if BJ really knows
40:38what her DNA
40:39is in the competition.
40:42The strategy is
40:44they don't want me
40:44to be in the top three
40:45because they know
40:46that if I'm in the top three,
40:48I have a strong chance
40:49of winning this.
40:51So who would you
40:52take with you?
40:53I will definitely
40:54take Ethan
40:55and Belania
40:56because I think
40:58that these two people
40:59are kind
41:00and I think
41:01that we need
41:02the money more
41:03than them.
41:05What makes you think that?
41:07It's hard to say
41:08yes to speak.
41:09That is so stupid.
41:11I like to work
41:12with people
41:12who are kind
41:13and humble.
41:14Are you saying
41:15that we're not kind
41:15and humble?
41:16Oh my God.
41:17You're the one
41:17that started all the drama
41:18in this competition, BJ.
41:20If you really want
41:21to go there
41:21because you are not
41:23the humble person.
41:24You were starting drama
41:25between everybody
41:26in this competition
41:27and you know that.
41:28So don't stand right here
41:30and look like
41:30you're the innocent girl.
41:32Period.
41:33Between you
41:34and your brother,
41:34who's the better designer?
41:35I'm not going
41:36to answer that long.
41:37Why not?
41:37I'm not going
41:38to answer that.
41:38You saw the hearts
41:39on the dresses.
41:40It's a competition.
41:41Please don't do that.
41:42I mean, he was always
41:42on top and I was
41:43on the bottom,
41:44so I'm proud of him.
41:45Right.
41:45So you think
41:45he's the better designer?
41:46Oh, I mean, yeah.
41:48If you want me to say,
41:49he's the better designer.
41:50Great, that's all
41:50I'm trying to get to.
41:51It's okay.
41:51He said it.
41:52I have different
41:52family values
41:53as maybe you should
41:55one day, too.
41:56It's fine.
41:57There can only be
41:57one winner
41:58at the end of the day.
41:59Yeah, the best winner
42:00should win.
42:00Yeah, but let's get there.
42:02We have a lot
42:03to talk about.
42:04You can leave the runway.
42:05Thank you.
42:05Thank you so much.
42:06Thank you.
42:06Thank you.
42:07Wow.
42:10It got heated in here.
42:12That was really wrong
42:14for you to say that.
42:15Please don't.
42:16See, that's what I'm saying.
42:17Kind and humble, right?
42:19We are humble.
42:20Oh, my God.
42:22I don't even want
42:22to be in this room with them.
42:24They're attacking me.
42:25Be kind and humble
42:26because you're the one
42:27with the big mouth.
42:28Let's not talk.
42:28How about that?
42:29Get her out of the room
42:30if she's not comfortable.
42:31She's saying that
42:31we're not humble?
42:32How am I not humble?
42:33They're attacking me.
42:35Oh, dear God.
42:36I'm not doing this.
42:37I'm going to go.
42:38No.
42:39Nope.
42:39I'm not going to stand there
42:40and have them humiliate me.
42:42I didn't come here for that.
42:43No, mama.
42:44Girl, calm down.
42:45Nope.
42:45And stay.
42:46I made my decision.
42:48Girl, you could...
42:49They're not going to humiliate me,
42:51especially this bitch,
42:52and catch me if you can't touch me.
42:55Antonio, relaxate.
42:56I'm leaving.
42:58He is going to leave,
42:59and I know my brother,
43:00because he's not going to be up there
43:02and be humiliated, okay?
43:03And that was really wrong, BJ.
43:05And you know that.
43:07What the ?
43:08Law, you really went there.
43:10How dare you try to pull my brother
43:11and I against each other,
43:12and I'm not going back in.
43:13And BJ is being disrespectful.
43:17I'm not going to stand there
43:18with that bitch, BJ,
43:20saying that we're not humble
43:21and that we don't need the money.
43:22She doesn't know my financials.
43:24Who the is she?
43:25I'm going home.
