00:00Let's talk about the evolution of Ricky's Room.
00:02So you're directing for browsers and now I'm assuming you want to branch off and kind of do your own thing.
00:11So where did the idea of Ricky's Room come from?
00:14Because it's got a very specific look to it.
00:16Yeah, yeah.
00:17So the very first, I would say, Ricky's Room scene was probably like, because Ricky's Room essentially kind of is like my OnlyFans, just with a lot of production into it.
00:26That's kind of what it started into.
00:28So I was at my old crib with my roommate and then I was just chatting away about just like elevating and like, you know, producing and doing more stuff and just having some stuff with like my name attached to it.
00:39Like worst case scenario, something happens.
00:42I also want to be in a sense of security.
00:44Like, God forbid, the company I'm working for, just like, you know, we're not going to resign.
00:49You know, and that happens.
00:50I've seen people not get resigned and like, it's just a matter of just like their personal decision.
00:54Our analytics are saying like, they might not be working.
00:57Bought out by somebody else.
00:58Yeah, yeah.
00:59And they're just like, hey, that can happen, you know?
01:01And it's just, it's always good to have some kind of like your own comfort with that.
01:06And so, yeah, I did a little shoot with Alina Lopez and Kiss of Sins at my crib.
01:13My roommate like shot it on the phone.
01:15Two of like the fucking best.
01:17I know.
01:17Yeah.
01:17Like you can't get better than those two.
01:19And it was just all phone footage.
01:20And it was just like in my room.
01:22And we were like, you know, like Ricky's room.
01:25Having that type of conversation.
01:26Like Ricky's room.
01:26Like, hey, that's kind of like, Ricky's room has a nice little vibe to it.
01:29At first I was like, I'm not trying to have my name in it.
01:31I'm trying to like, I'm thinking about future expansion and not like focal point of like a person or whatever.
01:36Right.
01:37But I was like, it has a, like Ricky's room, it kind of has a roll tongue to it.
01:41Like you can say it like really easy.
01:42And that's really important, I think, in branding.
01:43So I was like, all right.
01:44I looked it up.
01:45And at the time it was like two racks for the, like the thingy.
01:49And I was like, ah, it's a little steep.
01:50I'm not ready to like commit, commit, commit.
01:52Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:53And then my roommate was like, man, you kind of, you need to just commit.
01:56And I was like, oh, you're right.
01:56So I just bought the domain.
01:58And then I didn't use it for like another like seven, eight months at the time.
02:01But it was good to have it to like force me to keep going with it.
02:04And then, yeah, I wanted to like use my crew.
02:09And actually, I don't know if RK knows this.
02:12I don't know if it even matters.
02:13But like I was testing out the theme of Ricky's room on my Rally King scene.
02:18So I was shooting the scenes like with a nighttime vibe.
02:22And like the scene was really good.
02:24And I was checking how the scenes were doing amongst other scenes.
02:26And they were like doing like slightly better or like just like really good scenes.
02:30I was like, all right, cool.
02:31Then I tried it again with another performer.
02:32I was like, all right, cool.
02:33And they were very gonzo.
02:33It was just like, it was pretty much essentially the exact same thing as Ricky's room.
02:36Just, I guess, Rally King's bottle shooting the way I was going to shoot it.
02:41Because it wasn't the way Rally King shoots their thing.
02:43It was, I was shooting it different.
02:44So it came off of like a little one-off.
02:45So I did like one every month.
02:46Right.
02:47And each time they like worked out.
02:48And I was like, all right, cool.
02:49Let me just like focus on that.
02:51Because I don't think they were looking for that to be like their continuous thing.
02:54So I just dropped out of like doing those little producer ideas.
02:57And just like did something different.
02:58And then I just made that the focal point of my thing.
03:00And then one of the shoots, it actually wasn't a nighttime thing as well.
03:04I did Indica Flower.
03:06And then I did, I found the spot.
03:09I forgot it was very far off because she has like a little earthy tone to her.
03:12So we found the outside spot.
03:13Daytime shoot.
03:14Very thematic and cool.
03:16And then I did another one with Lacey Lennon and Anna Fox and like a beach house.
03:20A nice little beach house.
03:21Very outdoorsy and stuff like that.
03:22And those were like coming, like if you go on a site, those were like one of the first five scenes.
03:25So like when we first started, there was no real like this is a theme.
03:29It was kind of like just shooting like very premium level type porn, like artsy and like, you know, high definition porn.
03:36And then it kind of just catered to like the nighttime vibe because I was kind of like more, I like that vibe.
03:42And for me, it also allowed like the crew to be able to have other jobs or do other things because I shoot at like 7, 8 p.m. a night.
03:48So like you can essentially have a 9 to 5 and then clock in your 7 to 11.
03:53And then also for me, because like, you know, I have children.
03:55So like also I'm thinking like I want to be able to have a good amount of daytime and then maybe like they sleep and like, you know, go off set and go to set and do my job that way.
04:06So I was just thinking in that way of future.
04:09I always like to think way into the future of things.
04:11And it just worked out.
04:12Yeah, I just kept doing more and more and more.
04:14And then people liked it.
04:15And then now we're here.
04:16Wow.
04:17Yeah.
04:17And when did you realize that like it was actually going to be a successful endeavor?
04:23Because like you've really grown it, you know, like people have done websites and it's been fine.
04:28But like you've really like done the branding, like you were doing the marketing, like you have the booths at the conventions.
04:33Like when did you decide to take that step and you decided that the money was worth it?
04:39Because those aren't cheap.
04:40Yeah, they aren't.
04:41I'll tell you this right now.
04:43So Avian, because I did Avian and X3, like back to back.
04:48I know how much that is because we looked into it.
04:52Yeah.
04:52So I know how much.
04:53I have an idea of how much you spent and it was a lot.
04:56Yeah.
04:56Yeah.
04:56That was commitment.
04:57And, you know, and there's no immediate ROI.
04:59Like that's why it's such a commitment because like you don't, you won't, like you'll see it like eventually over time.
05:03But like you won't see that what you put in and at least in that hat right back at you.
05:09No, you know, but I think it was very important.
05:10It was still good.
05:11But nowadays, a lot of my Ricky's Room scenes are, have been trade because the talent is like, hey, I'm down to do a trade.
05:18And like we both like, so it's a cheaper scene.
05:20But like the first 45 scenes, they definitely weren't trade.
05:23Like it was just like hit the agent or I talked to the model, then I hit the agent or whatever.
05:28And I didn't release it to like probably I was on scene 50.
05:33Like no one even knew about Ricky's Rooms.
05:35I always shot them and it was like a dark with the socials.
05:38So it was just like I committed to like a good amount of scenes before I even released it, which is like adds up, you know, each scene is a certain amount of money.
05:45So like from then, like for me, I feel like if you're committing that far, like 40 scenes before you even drop, then you're assuming we're going to continue this, you know, because Rooms were just like, let me put this money somewhere else.
05:55So it was just like, you know, I thought like, you know, even right now I'm like six years ahead in where I figure out the company can be and like where we can deal with this.
06:03So I've always felt like it was going to work because I looked at like, you know, I tried it.
06:07I tried it proof of concept production wise on like, you know, different site, but like a certain theme.
06:15And then like my OnlyFans makes a super solid amount of money.
06:19That's essentially a site as well.
06:21If you look at it and if I just like, all right, let me just put instead of putting my stuff on the OnlyFans platform, let me just put it on this platform and put my name on it.
06:30And if I'm doing all the work that OnlyFans is doing back end, they're using 20% for, if I put that in and use that 20% in a different route, then I essentially have copied and pasted.
06:41And that's essentially what I've done.
06:43So are you putting these scenes only on reviewsroom.com or is it on OnlyFans?
06:49Now, now recently I've, I've come to find that it doesn't hurt the site to just spread it everywhere.
06:54I've kind of just been churning and it may not work for everybody.
06:58So don't quote me.
06:59Like you do this and you're like, I lost so much fucking money that that's not on me.
07:03I think this works for me because like I do it like it may come across like as I'm like just putting my content like fucking everywhere.
07:10But like I actually think about it and how I'm doing it because for me with the brand, I think it's really good work.
07:19So I'm like, I have no problem with people stealing it and like, you know, putting it on tube sites and like showing like, oh, this is a really good scene.
07:28Boom, boom, look at it.
07:29Like, especially in the very, very beginning because I'm like, you don't know who I am.
07:33So it's like, all right, cool.
07:34You're like, oh, this site is really good.
07:35Oh, then you're showing people.
07:37So from a brand standpoint, that's going to take some time.
07:39And you're definitely not going to get no ROI because they're stealing your shit.
07:42But you will get brand identity over time if it's good stuff.
07:46So and you got to have a happy place of just not making sure that you're just like a completely stolen product.
07:51You still have to like make sure you're getting, you know, income and DMCA when you need to and stuff like that.
07:56But for me, it also helps that your stuff is so identifiable.
07:59Yeah.
08:00See, so then it can be like, that's also really important.
08:02Yeah, because everyone's going to get their stuff taken.
08:04But if you can kind of pinpoint what this is and when you keep seeing it, you're like, I keep seeing that.
