Oslo saw mass demonstrations on October 11 ahead of the World Cup qualifier between Norway and Israel, as pro-Palestinian protesters called for Israel’s exclusion from international football over its actions in Gaza.

Protesters gathered outside the Norwegian parliament before marching to Ullevaal Stadium, chanting, waving Palestinian flags, and carrying banners reading “Red Card Israel.”

Security was tight, with police closing off parts of the stadium, reducing crowd capacity, and searching bags.

Activists, including the leader of the Palestine Committee Norway, Line Khateeb, criticized FIFA and UEFA for allowing Israel to participate despite allegations of human rights violations.

“We think Israel should be banned from FIFA… They have no room in international football,” Khateeb said.
