00:25Milton Williams, how you doing this week?
00:26What's going on, boss?
00:30We're doing great.
00:31Maybe not as good as you guys on Sunday night.
00:34It was a statement win.
00:35It was a nationally televised audience in Buffalo.
00:39I don't know, looking back on that, even almost a week later,
00:41how did it feel to get that victory under your belt in front of the whole country watching?
00:47No, it felt good.
00:48It felt good.
00:49We had a great week of preparation.
00:52And we went out there, and we just executed.
00:54We played the way we wanted to play.
00:56And, you know, executed for the most part in all phases.
01:00So, we're going to try to get ready to do that this week as well.
01:05You know, I heard an interview with Christian Barmore where he was discussing how great it is
01:09to be able to play next to you.
01:11You come from a great offensive line in Philadelphia.
01:14What's it been like so far this year playing alongside Christian Barmore?
01:19Man, it's been great.
01:20It's been great.
01:22I feel like I said the same thing every time you're asking the title.
01:26But, no, man, it's just having another guy right there to know that teams can't just key on you.
01:33You know, because if they do, I mean, then we got another ultra-talented guy
01:38that can go make something happen if he's one-on-one and vice versa.
01:41So, you know, we just like being in those scenarios and being able to play with each other,
01:47you know, control the line of scrimmage, control the middle, and just work off each other.
01:52And we feed off each other energy, and, you know, we're going to help each other make plays
01:56as the season goes.
01:57How much pride do you guys take in stopping the opposing team's running backs?
02:01Because one of the stats that has jumped out through the first five weeks,
02:04no individual running back has had over 50 yards in a game against you guys,
02:09which I assume you've got to take great pride in.
02:12Oh, yeah.
02:12And I didn't even know that was a thing that people tracked.
02:16But, you know, we always emphasize, you know, of course, we want to go get quarterbacks.
02:23We want to make plays.
02:24But in order to get to that, we've got to be good on first, second down, you know,
02:29stopping the run and get them in the passing situations where they have to drop back.
02:35And then we can go try to take over the game that way.
02:38But, no, it's all about stopping the run first and then, you know,
02:42taking advantage of those opportunities in the pass game when you get them.
02:45I was looking at some of your comments after the Buffalo game.
02:48We asked you in the offseason, you know, to highlight the favorite sack of your career.
02:52It was Mahomes in the Super Bowl.
02:54Now you've got Josh Allen last week.
02:58I guess independent of just the schedule, Rattler's the next quarterback on the schedule,
03:02so I imagine he'd be on your list.
03:03Is there another QB you have circled?
03:05I know you're kind of keeping track of that.
03:07Is there another QB you have circled?
03:10The crazy part is I don't really have no quarterback circled.
03:14But every quarterback I play circled, if that makes sense, you know?
03:18Sure.
03:19Like, I'm trying to get everybody that I go against.
03:22So whoever on the schedule, they on the list.
03:25And I'm definitely trying to get them.
03:26I'm not sure if you watched your former team last night in their game against the Giants.
03:32And I'm also not sure how many times there's been four straight tush-push plays, which I know not everybody loves.
03:40But did you get a chance to watch any of the Eagles last night?
03:42Yeah, I watched a little bit of it, man.
03:47I did see the tush-push when they ran it a couple times in a row.
03:51I was like, man, that's tough to stop.
03:54You know, they got big Dexter Lawrence right in the middle.
03:57I feel like they stopped it.
03:59The Giants did a good job of, you know, holding them probably twice.
04:02But, I mean, after that, it's like, it's tough sledding after that, man.
04:07There's really ain't too much you really can do.
04:09No.
04:10You said you were watching.
04:12What do you think's, looking from afar, what do you think's wrong with that offense and that team?
04:16They've dropped two in a row.
04:19You know, I really can't just say.
04:23They just look out of sync to me.
04:27Just being there and watching them, you know, watching the year like what we had last year.
04:32I just feel like they're out of sync and they're missing some guys.
04:36They're missing some guys on the line on both sides of the ball, secondary.
04:41And it's just, they're just out of sync right now.
04:45So, you know, I'm not really, I know y'all asking me questions about them.
04:49I'm not really focused on them as much as I am the Patriots.
04:53So, I did take a glance at the game, man.
04:56Those are what I took from it.
05:00One last one on the Eagles.
05:01Not trying to dwell on it, but we talk about A.J. Brown a lot on this show.
05:05Big fan of A.J. Brown.
05:07Great player.
05:07I'm curious.
05:08What was he like as a teammate?
05:11Great teammate.
05:12Great guy.
05:14He want to win.
05:15He want to win and he want to impact winning.
05:18And he want to be great.
05:20Just like all of us.
05:21But I feel like he did put up a lot of numbers and a lot of, you know, good films for players
05:29and other people to watch just to see the type of player that he has been.
05:34So, no, he was a great teammate and one of the best receivers that's ever been on my team.
05:40Before we let you go, Milton, and I know the NFL is different than baseball where you're
05:46in town for a couple of days or the NBA or NHL where you may get an off day when you're
05:50in another town.
05:51But it's New Orleans and then Nashville the next couple of weeks.
05:54Do you have a favorite stop, a favorite city to go visit in the NFL?
05:57Oh, not really.
06:04I mean, I've been in New Orleans a couple of times.
06:05So, there ain't even nothing to go down there no more.
06:07Like, I went to school in Louisiana.
06:09So, New Orleans is a cool, I mean, the food good down there.
06:13So, that's cool.
06:14But, oh, the city in particular, not really.
06:17I just be, I done went to so many places, man.
06:20I don't even like, you know what I'm saying?
06:22I'd have been everywhere pretty much in the U.S., you know, playing football.
06:27And it took me to a lot of places.
06:29So, I'll probably just have to say just going back to Texas, just being home.
06:35In my career, I've been playing with a lot of teams up north, a long way from Texas.
06:41So, whenever I go back to Texas and we play the Cowboys or the Texans or somebody in Texas
06:47just to get back down where I came from, it always feels good.
06:52You got anything queued up for the plane ride?
06:54You got any TV shows or movies you're going to watch?
06:58Um, nah, this plane ride, if it's going to be a long, I'm probably going to get a nap first.
07:04And then if I wake up, probably listen to some music, play some Candy Crush, something like that.
07:11Nice.
07:11No Angry Birds.
07:12No, okay, cool.
07:13Okay, you moved past that.
07:14That's okay.
07:15Howie, is it easy for you to fall asleep on a plane?
07:17That's not easy for everybody.
07:18Is it easy for you to fall asleep?
07:19Oh, yeah.
07:20Oh, yeah.
07:20I put my music in.
07:22I got my little R&B playlist.
07:25Oh, nice.
07:25What's on that?
07:26What's on that?
07:28Oh, man.
07:29A lot of old school Chetty Pendergrass, Osley Brothers.
07:36Just a lot of stuff I grew up with with my mom.
07:39You know, wake up on Saturday, it's time to clean up.
07:42And she got her jams going.
07:44So, just listening to that kind of relax me, take me back a little bit.
07:49Just old school R&B.
07:52Shoot.
07:52About three songs in, I'm asleep.
07:54Okay, nice.
07:55Well, hey, best of luck with the Candy Crush.
07:57Best of luck with the playlist and the nap.
07:59Get Rattler, too.
08:00Yeah, add Rattler to the list.
08:02And we'll talk to you in a couple of weeks.
08:03Thanks so much.
08:05A hundred percent.
08:05Appreciate y'all.
08:06All right.
08:06All right.
08:07Milton, the Milkman Williams, joining us here on a Patriots Friday.
