00:58It's the most frightful time of the year, and I'm traveling across the country in search of the 15 scariest homes we could find.

01:18And the most haunted in the heartland.

01:20Within the home, there's exactly 10 people that died.

01:26Apparitions of Appalachia, here we come.

01:30Stretching from New York to Mississippi, Appalachia is steeped in myth, rugged mountains, and the remnants of coal country.

01:42My first scary stop is in Greenville, Pennsylvania.

01:45My search for the scariest house in America has called me to Greenville, Pennsylvania, just south of Lake Erie and home to one of the area's creepiest legends.

01:58They call her the lady with the lantern, a ghostly figure who appears on the back roads at night.

02:06Some say she's searching for something. Some say she's watching.

02:11Either way, you're not going to find me on them back roads, day or night.

02:17I'm here to meet Edward and Tom. Why is their house so creepy?

02:28Because they live in the Addams Family home. That's why.

02:54My name is Tom, and this is Edward, and we live in an Addams Family-style haunted mansion in Greenville, Pennsylvania.

03:01We had no idea when we first purchased the home that it was a funeral home.

03:05A lot of people believe it's just text.

03:07We have shadow forms walking around at night. We have lights that come out of nowhere.

03:13But we're very happy with this house. It keeps Tom and me young.

03:17Plus, we look pretty good for 300 years old.

03:33The prior owner, his one son died, dropped a gun, shot himself in an artery, and bled out upstairs.

06:25Now, originally in these old Victorians, the third floor would be completely open and they would have their balls up here.

06:33Also, the structure of the French Second Empire style was meant to circulate the air, so it would actually keep this nice and cool the entire time that they were having their parties and entertaining.

06:46Let me tell you what's real messed up.

06:51This is where they had the parties.

06:54And someone hidden in the back.

06:59This is also one of the more active rooms, so we rarely come up to this floor.

07:04We use it mainly for storage, but what's also curious is that one of the dogs refuses to come up.

12:34And so kids use the walkway as they're coming back from school, and they'll just look right at you.
