00:00Newcastle United women's manager Becky Langley has shown faith in her side, despite a tough start to their season.
00:08That bit at Palace, you felt that the girls have it in them and it's going to take time.
00:13We have navigated so much change on and off the pitch.
00:16Player recruitment, facilities, we're building our own kitchen, we've got our staff offices coming this week.
00:23So there's so many different bits that have been tough to navigate,
00:25but I really feel like that confidence and that spark was there in the last 20 minutes against Palace.
00:31You can see the quality of a Morgan, you can see the quality of Jordan in those latter stages of the game.
00:38I felt like we finished the game on the front foot and it felt electric at the end,
00:43but it was just obviously really disappointing that we couldn't convert that last chance and get the three points we were all really after.
00:49There's obviously no one as disappointed as myself in terms of results at the start of the season,
00:54but I'm also like, if we're in this business, we've got to have broad shoulders and be able to bounce back.
00:59Do you feel like there is a big expectation this season?
01:02I think there's always been a big expectation ever since I joined.
01:06We had our target on our back in Tier 4, that we were Newcastle United Football Club playing in an amateur league.
01:14And Sunderland full-back Trey Hulme has made clear that the Black Cats will be ready
01:19for their first game back after the international break, a home test in the Premier League against Wolves.
01:26Now, like I said, we know that we need to be better in the first half.
01:29Obviously, we started slow and they scored earlier and then they scored again from the set piece,
01:33which will be disappointing.
01:34But, you know, like I said, we were all in the game second half and the first half we weren't.
01:38And that's the end of it, really.
01:41It is a little bit of a bump in the road, but overall it's been a strong start to the season.
01:46Important to try and rebuild that momentum going forward.
01:50Yeah, definitely.
01:51Look, we're disappointed we lost the game.
01:53We know why, but, you know, we'll keep the positivity as best we can.
01:56And like I said, we'll come back after the international break and be ready to go.
01:59Speaking of which, you'll be away with Northern Ireland,
02:01but it'll be all guns blazing when we head back to the stadium and like to face Wolves.
02:07Yeah, definitely.
02:07The international lads will, you know, enjoy their time away
02:09and the lads that aren't going away with training, they'll work hard and we'll come back and we'll be ready to go.
