00:10last week. The ten officers in question facing what has been described as fast-tracked disciplinary
00:19proceedings consist of eight serving Met officers. These are three police sergeants
00:26and five police constables, a former Met police constable and a Gloucestershire police constable
00:35who moved away from the Met. One of the officers, a police constable, remains under criminal
00:43investigation for perverting the course of justice. Investigations into a Met detention
00:50officer are ongoing, according to the Independent Office for Police Conduct. The police watchdog
00:57said it had asked the BBC to send any relevant, untransmitted material, while the misconduct
01:05hearings are likely to be held in the coming weeks. The Director General of the Independent
01:12Office for Police Conduct, Rachel Watson, said they were appalled by some of the behaviour
01:21and conduct displayed by a group of Met officers based at Charing Cross in the BBC Panorama documentary.
01:30She added the public would rightly expect swift action being taken to remove officers who have
01:38no place in policing.
