A woman who joked with her boyfriend that if he had enough money for a jet ski he could first buy an engagement ring made his dream come true on their wedding day. For years, Brody Felice, 28, from Coventry, Rhode Island, had dreamed of owning his very own jet ski – something inspired by his girlfriend Marissa's own childhood. Marissa, 28, was raised in a house with a pond, and so she and her family would often take out their jet skis and talk about them. Brody thought this was the coolest thing, Marissa said, and early in their relationship, Brody expressed he would love to have a jet ski of his own one day. Around six and half years into their relationship, with Brody's urge to buy a jet ski growing, Marissa joked that "if he had money to buy a jet ski, he better have money to buy a ring," as she had been waiting to get engaged. Brody went through with a surprise proposal, but with the likes of a wedding and building a new home to pay for, the jet ski had to be kept at bay, Marissa said, as the couple reprioritized their finances. Ahead of the couple’s wedding, though, Marissa wanted to make the day extra special for Brody, so she tasked her brother Steve, Brody's best friend, with discovering the make and model of jet ski Brody wanted – and also to prevent him from impulse buying one in the meantime. With the jet ski secured and hidden in Steve's garage, Marissa then planned for the big reveal, on May 31, at their family home.
