01:30Caryads was built in 1896 in Southampton. Albert E. Payne was the designer and she's sailed around the world a couple of times and ended up winning the Vasco da Gama.
01:59With a gaff rig boat there's obviously a lot more ropes to pull than a Marconi but you know this was the type of vessel that they were designing and building back then and she was predominantly built for cruising.

02:20She's had two rebuilds in the past 20 years. During the time when they were towing her from Singapore back to Satun, Thailand the boat had rotted away at the dock for some time so the mizzenmast fell down.
02:36And a lot of the work that they had put into the first time unfortunately was lost. Since they had already done it before and they were really dedicated to the project they managed to bring her back to the glory that she is right now.
02:48It's been really nice we sailed down from England a couple months ago just went and did Mahon regatta. Then Cannes regatta and now Saint-Tropez.
