A tight knit Bendigo school community is mourning the tragic loss of a 15-year-old student. The teen was hit by a truck this morning at a busy intersection with the cause of the crash under investigation.

00:00Police begin their investigation on Bendigo's main road, redirecting traffic away from where
00:09a schoolboy lost his life.
00:11A hugely disgusting situation for everybody, the entire community.
00:17The teen was hit by a truck at around 8.30 this morning, a passerby attempting CPR but
00:23the 15 year old died at the scene.
00:24They worked tirelessly to try and save this poor person but unfortunately they passed
00:29away.
00:30Don't expect to see something like that at the front of your workplace.
00:33Just hope the family is ok and anyone that witnesses is ok.
00:37But yeah, send love to their family.
00:40The boy was a student at Girton Grammar, a co-ed independent school with a community consisting
00:45of more than 1,100 students.
00:48That community is now in mourning.
00:50In a message to parents, Girton Grammar's principal said the school was devastated and would
00:55be providing support to students.
00:57Parents have also been asked to talk to their kids about how they're feeling.
01:01The Premier has also offered condolences and support.
01:04I'm deeply saddened by the tragedy, she said.
01:07My heart is with the family, loved ones and entire school community who are grieving the
01:11loss of one of their own.
01:14An investigation into what caused the crash is ongoing.
01:18The truck driver wasn't injured.
