00:13the historic market town of Hay-on-Wye. So, Hay-on-Wye would like to congratulate

00:20Jackson and Gill opticians on becoming Optical Success Academy practice.

00:27Of the year, even. As voted by its members. So, we welcome Mr. Connor Heaney, the head of Optical

00:37Success Academy, to present this auspicious prize on this day, Wednesday, the 8th of October,

00:59What we're here is, we run an organisation for independent opticians in the UK, and obviously

01:05there's a lot of big chains like Specsavers and places like that. So, I think for independents

01:09to do well today, they have to be different and really put a lot of personality and put

01:14a lot of themselves into their businesses and get involved in their communities. And I think

01:18Annette and the team here at Jackson's have done an amazing job. And at our annual conference,

01:23we had a hundred opticians there. There were four practices that were nominated as finalists

01:30and got up on stage and kind of told their story of all the things they've done in their

01:33business. And Annette was voted the winner out of all of those, by her fellow peers and

01:38other independents. So, yeah. Exciting time to hear.

01:42Thank you very much, Conor, for coming today to do the official presentation. And I'd just

01:49like to thank all the staff that have been involved with practice since the beginning.

01:55Those that have gone and those that are new, those that have been for a while. All the

02:02people that have helped along the way. And even, and the town of Hay-on-Wye, because without

02:06them we wouldn't be flourishing. And also to my friends, and some of them are here today,
