00:00of much public concern the closures have been the subject of Senedd petitions and debates
00:09concerns have been expressed by members from all parties and these centres as we know play an
00:14important role in community engagement and tourism and their closure will be keenly felt
00:20the wider visitor sites may remain open of course but the visitor centres form a crucial part of the
00:27visitor offer and without which the sites may not be able to attract as many visitors as previously
00:33seen so recommendation two is that and I quote the recommendation NRW must urgently provide a
00:38credible plan to reopen all three visitor centres this must include clarity about its vision for the
00:44future of the visitor centres the service levels it wishes to see and a financially viable strategy
00:50and timetable to achieve this and all of this should be provided to the committee within three
00:55months now the government says in its response that NRW will provide the committee with more
00:59information regarding arrangements within the committee's time frame but over four months has
01:04passed and this information hasn't been provided to the committee so members across the Senedd
01:08I'm sure we'll want to hear from the minister today a clear timetable for reopening those centres
01:13three visitor centre sites are not closed and they continue to remain open and many people are using
01:19them for walking bike in access to play areas car parking toilet provision and more
01:23now the visitor centre sites provide a wonderful gateway to outdoor recreation and an important
01:28attraction for communities and tourists alike in mid Wales so I'm pleased to share with the committee a bit
01:34of an update the both community hub small grassroots charity which began in 2007 offering support and
01:42activities for local community stretching from northern Ceredigion to Machinthleth is now running a
01:47community space that is last which has proven to be a very welcome addition to the local community
01:53the invitations to tender for bulk nantar arian and quite a brain in are expected to be launched in
01:58November and it's hope that the contracts will be in place then for April 2026 and they're up and running
02:04the ongoing management of the w national nature reserve at unislaus is a core requisite of NRW statutory functions and
02:12it will continue and a long-standing approved management plan is in place for the site which
