00:00And who better to lead us off the line than this man?
00:03John McGuinness, a legend of the island.
00:06Running the number one, look at the focus.
00:09Down the road, hand up.
00:11The tap on the shoulder, he clunks the bike into gear.
00:14Look over on the right-hand side for your starter.
00:19And finally we're away for TT25.
00:22McGuinness with his 112th start off down towards Bray Hill.
00:25Next up, Davo Johnson on the Kawasaki.
00:28Fellow Australian Cameron Donald here.
00:31Cam, you know what this is like.
00:32First race of the week.
00:33Got to get those nerves out of the way,
00:34especially after the practice week these guys have had.
00:36Absolutely, and straight out on that big bike.
00:39There's no easing into it on the superbike.
00:41Fastest machines on course.
00:42Dean Harrison's had a great week, hasn't he,
00:44in the run-up to the start here.
00:45Been quick on all machinery.
00:46We're on board with him now.
00:47Absolutely, through a blistering time down on the second night of practice.
00:51133 miles an hour at the top of the chart for most of qualifying weeks.
00:55Up and over Agos, just lift up a wheel.
00:58Look, and now on the run down to the first big braking zone at Quarterbridge.
01:02And laying the bike down on the right-hand side.
01:04Here it is, look, from the curb at the bottom of Bray Hill.
01:06There is nothing like this place.
01:09Michael Dunlop, after his 30th victory,
01:12gonna have to beat this man as well though, Davey Todd.
01:15Of course, his teammate and fellow team owner, Peter Hickman,
01:17missing after falling in practice.
01:19So we're down to the fast three, I think it's fair to say.
01:22But Todd is gonna be a threat for sure.
01:24As we come through Glen Helen for the first time.
01:27Blue skies in the background.
01:28You're on board with Josh Brooks.
01:30Rear-facing camera.
01:31Looking back, watching Davey Todd just close that gap rapidly.
01:37Todd's all over him, looking for a way through already.
01:40Yeah, he needs to get past.
01:41He can't waste any time.
01:43Slots it up the inside.
01:45Nicely done.
01:46Decisive move.
01:47Clean as you like.
01:50Davey Todd then leading at Glen Helen
01:52by just four hundredths of a second from Dean Harrison.
01:55Michael Dunlop, a further 2.8 back.
01:57We're on board with Davo Johnson now.
01:59Oh, and he gets past.
02:00Well, Dean Harrison, top of the Garrow.
02:02Now that certainly is a place to pass.
02:04Look at the ground.
02:05He's already pulling.
02:07Davo will use this though.
02:08He won't let him go.
02:09Hang on as much as he can.
02:12Michael Dunlop caught.
02:13James Hillier under brakes.
02:15Balaf Bridge.
02:16Launches it.
02:17The typical Michael Dunlop.
02:18Front wheel landing.
02:19He's back on the power.
02:20He's going to want to draft past James as quickly as we can.
02:25Davy Todd.
02:26Oh, look at that.
02:27Without doubt, the most stylish on the jump over that.
02:30That's that motocross heritage.
02:32Harrison up behind his teammate John McGuinness now.
02:35We'll look to dispatch him as quickly as he can.
02:37Gets alongside him on the brakes.
02:39Nicely done up the inside.
02:40So Harrison now leads on the road.
02:42Davy Todd leads on the leaderboard.
02:44Two seconds is the gap at Balaf.
02:46A further 2.8 back to Michael Dunlop.
02:48So just under five seconds across the top three.
02:51Dunlop swings through signpost.
02:55And we're on board with Dean Harrison as he comes out of Governor's dip.
03:00Full throttle now down Glyn Cruttery Road.
03:02There are 9.5 seconds across the top three riders.
03:06This man currently sitting in P3 just eight tenths behind Dunlop.
03:10He goes on to lap two.
03:12Can he take that time back?
03:13And will it be Dunlop, Todd or Harrison?
03:15Oh, Connor Cummins.
03:18Cummins is into the pits.
03:20Looks like that's game over because it's a stop at the end of the second lap.
03:23What a shame.
03:24Oh, it truly is.
03:25Connor's been back up to pace in excess of 131 mile per hour lapping.
03:29Qualifying is looking good with that Burrows team BMW this year.
03:34Harrison, yeah, on board the Honda.
03:38Run by his own team as we said.
03:40He was sitting up in P4.
03:42Waiting for him to come through the next split.
03:45Harrison already up at the bungalow.
03:49Listen to that five-blade how.
03:53He's been on it this week.
03:54I've been lucky enough to be course side a few times during practice week
03:57and he's been absolutely lit everywhere.
03:58Look, he's touched in.
04:00He means he's serious about it.
04:02He shows his leader at bungalow.
04:04Say when the other splits come through, you'll see him drop down to P3,
04:07but he's still very much in touch with this man, Michael Dunlop.
04:10He certainly was last time we checked.
04:12Dunlop comes through.
04:13What's he got on Harrison now?
04:158.1.
04:17So Dunlop's gapped Harrison.
04:19Dunlop has gapped Harrison.
04:20The question is, has he closed down on this man, Davey Todd?
04:23Davey Todd leading elbow almost down through there.
04:27Fully committed.
04:28Where does he go?
04:29He's 7.2 up the road, so he's managed to take a bit back.
04:32So the top three are spread out now over 15 seconds.
04:35Davey Todd has control of this race.
04:38Coming in now for the pit stop.
04:42Oh, Harrison high on the RPM, hard on the brakes.
04:45Lee Johnston in the pits.
04:47He's definitely going for a helmet stop,
04:50which I knew he does that all the time with his shoey helmet
04:53as the bike just rolls into Pitlion now.
04:55So you'd expect to see the rear stand on first,
04:57fuel cap open first,
04:58because that's the most important bit to put the fuel in.
05:00But we are going to run further up the Pitlion now
05:03and try and see as Davey Todd and Mike and the lock
05:06are going to be the next to arrive in Pitlane.
05:08I see Mike and the lock's in and he's already out.
05:11Really good pit stop by them.
05:13Slight crossover in the pits with Mike and the lock
05:15and James Hillier.
05:16It's very, very busy down here,
05:18but you can see the top teams are really calm and methodical,
05:21trying to get the information over to the rider.
05:23Well, looking at the splits we've got here in commentary,
05:25Todd's pit stop was some five or six seconds slower
05:28than both Harrison and Dunlop in front of him.
05:31So we're on board with him now.
05:32150, 161, behind McGuinness now.
05:37Glen Helen split for Harrison.
05:39Now Dunlop comes through, 12 between them.
05:41That's within 0.8 of a second of what it was before.
05:44Dunlop slightly further ahead of Harrison,
05:46but Todd is the crucial one here.
05:48The gap was 7.1.
05:50You're on board with Davo Johnson,
05:52waiting on Todd who's a little way further down on the road.
05:55He swoops through the left and the right.
05:57Here is Todd.
05:58He's up behind Johnson.
05:59Got to get through quickly on the exit.
06:01Oh, he's lost loads of time.
06:03Todd slides up the inside.
06:05Similar move that was made earlier on in the race,
06:07but he has lost loads of time.
06:08The lead is down to 1.5 seconds from 7.1,
06:11and that was all in the pit stop.
06:15Davy Todd now.
06:16Davy Todd locked in this fight as he comes through Glen Helen
06:19with Michael Dunlop.
06:211.9 seconds was the split between them last time we looked.
06:24Out over the crest of the road,
06:26and Todd too is pushed, and he does look comfortable on the BMW.
06:29He certainly does, Andrew.
06:31That BMW looks like it's sitting on the road so well.
06:33Look at the gap.
06:340.2.
06:35Cam, sorry to interrupt.
06:36It's 0.2.
06:37Two tenths, less than three tenths of a second
06:39between Todd and Dunlop.
06:40Dunlop is right there.
06:42Davy Todd must respond on this final lap.
06:45Oh, no.
06:46That's Ian Hutchinson into the pits.
06:49The bike is going up on its stand, and he pulls the seat off,
06:52so that's why seat broken for Hutchie.
06:54That's a shame.
06:55Well, we'll look to see him continue his brilliant recovery
06:58after that podium at the Northwest 200 later this week,
07:01but Dean Harrison now with Dunlop in behind.
07:03Michael Dunlop has caught Dean Harrison right in the middle of Kirk Michael Village.
07:06He's on a charge.
07:07How much time is this going to cost him?
07:09Oh, Dunlop's going up the outside here.
07:11Surely there's no room.
07:12Harrison stands the bike up.
07:14Just sees him in time.
07:16Dunlop definitely had to roll off in Kirk Michael.
07:18Without a shadow of doubt, he's done well to get through there,
07:20but not the ideal place to pass.
07:24Dunlop, 1.9.
07:26The gap has gone back up.
07:27So he's lost a little bit of time.
07:29Is it at Kirk Michael?
07:30I suspect as well Todd has responded and he's riding on the limit.
07:34Yeah, Davey's got it together.
07:35No more unforced errors now.
07:37He's made amends for those couple of slip ups early.
07:40No elbow down either.
07:42There's no time for showboating.
07:43He has a TT to win.
07:46Oh, here comes Dunlop on the exit of Glen Crutchery.
07:49Yeah.
07:50Sounded like he missed a gear on the exit,
07:51but he's coming out over the start finish line now.
07:54Dunlop then.
07:55The gap was 2.5 last we checked.
07:57Here comes Davey Todd.
07:59He won the senior at the end of the 2024 TT.
08:02That was his second TT win.
08:04Tucks down behind the fairing now over the start finish line.
08:07And he's done it.
08:08Todd takes his third TT.
08:10He wins the first race of 2025.
08:12Bookends last season and this season.
08:15It is Todd at the top of the table from Michael Dunlop by a tiny margin.
08:20Dean Harrison in P3.
08:22Nathan Harrison with a fantastic P4.
08:24Then Johnson, Hillier and McGuinness down to P7.
08:32Theodayman.
08:35Mark Nottingly Man.
08:36Theodayman.
08:37Theodayman.
08:38Peter.
08:39Theodayman.
08:40Theodayman.
08:41Theodayman.
08:42Theodayman.
08:43Theodayman.
