01:01Good to hear Chris Lambert, the spotter for Denny Hamlin, call that pass for the lead. It's
01:05interesting. Chase Briscoe, we ride on board with him with the Toyota onboard camera. He said it,
01:10quote, sits down on the left rear in the middle of the corner and then kicks out on corner exit. So
01:15struggling with a loose race car, Kim. Well, yesterday Bubba Wallace got out of the car
01:20after practice happy. They said it was a solid, good day. He qualified in the seventh position,
01:25but it's been a free fall since the green flag. Now runs in the 16th position. It is a totally
01:29different story today. Listen to Bubba's radio. Gosh. Simple. You manage your best you can.
01:37So again, Bubba not happy with that car. He said it's plowing. He cannot hit his marks from yesterday,
01:42is what he told the team. I really think if you're a crew chief, you need to take note of
01:46what happened to the 11 of Hamlin. He easily had the lead. Two, two and a half seconds. You see on
01:52the bottom left, the 11 had a little bit slower total time. Not bad. Three quarters of a second.
01:57But you add that in with one lap fresher tires on Larson. That's about a two or two and a half
02:02second advantage. So now your two and a half second lead is gone. And it's not just time,
02:07it's track position. Now the five could play defense. The 11 is going to work by right here,
02:12Jeff, but definitely take some life out of the tires trying to do it. Side by side,
02:15battle for the lead. Three wide for third. Chase Elliott in the middle. Tyler Reddick down low in the
02:2245. And Chase Briscoe. And here comes Christopher Bell. Bell's arrived on the scene. Super swift.
02:29And he wants part of this fight as well. Remember this whole time, Brad Kozlowski on the upper left,
02:33continuing to lead. You see him on the pylon. He's a multi-time winner in Cup Series competition
02:42here at Kansas. And today he's up against it back at 27th. Caution's out. And it's for Cody Ware.
02:57And speaking of Kyle Busch, he should be the car one lap down. NASCAR should
03:01should confirm that. But I believe he will get the free pass. Kozlowski right behind him,
03:06who ran long, was lapped on that strategy. He was coming quickly on fresher tires, but was unable to
03:11get in front of the eight. So that strategy did not work out for the six. Let's see what exactly
03:16happened to the 51. Ooh. Oh, boy. I thought he had said something about the left front. So I don't know
03:24if the left front went flat. It looks like it's dragging right there. Under green, that can kind of be
03:29covered up a little bit. A lot goes into a green flag pit stops. But here under yellow,
03:33with the five right on your bumper, we'll see if the pit crews can perform, Kim.
03:39That's right. You see Christopher Bell top left of your screen. He said freed up a little bit,
03:43guys. Not too much, though. About a quarter number or a half number. We'll see what they do here for
03:48tires. They do have four on the wall, though, Marty. Cliff Daniels told Kyle Larson, I know the 11 fired off
03:53better than you, but I really feel like we were going to be better on the long run. They're going to go with four
03:57tires. Meanwhile, Denny Hamlin said he's still too edgy when he's out front, especially in turn one
04:03and off of turn four. He also talked about a vibration. They go right side only on the 11 four
04:09tires for Chase Crisco, who said he was a little bit too tight and wanted to undo part of the last adjustment.

04:25with 18 laps to go in stage one here in Kansas. Now that's one way to make two tires work and get
04:30clean air. Great start by the 11 of Hamlin.

04:41Back at the pack and look at this. Bell got a little squiggly there, right alongside his JGR team.
04:46Now he's got that inside run on Larson as Larson goes high. What a restart by Denny Hamlin as they
04:52come to nine to go. Chris Gale would love for this call to work out for that 11 team. But Dave,
04:57remember what Hamlin said before that pit stop. We're way too loose right here on the entry of turn
05:02one. Also the exit of turn four. Can he hold Chase Elliott back for nine more laps? The guys talked about
05:08it earlier. Chase Elliott spoke of the fact that their qualifying efforts have been subprime and that is
05:13what's costing them the points coming in. I remember they uh after he pitted under the green flag cycle
05:20he lost a couple of spots there but is charged back to the front. That last pit stop they tightened up
05:24the race car. Jeff Burton you can't do what he's doing right now if your car is way too loose and
05:29that's what it was before this as he still tries to get to Hamlin. Yeah remember when we talked to Bubba
05:34Wallace of NASCAR countdown to green he was cool calm collected said they just need to go out here and
05:39get a base hit. Well some of that patience is eroding take a listen to the radio. Come on man I don't give
05:45a about restart. I want to crash into turn one lap one on restart man. I want to crash.
05:52So that car was not good for the first portion of stage one they have not made it better for the
05:57driver of the number 23 Bubba Wallace. Stage one is almost done with the final lap with thanks to Credit One Bank
06:05and what a stage it's been by Denny Hamlin controversy last weekend closed door meetings
06:15and not a reluctance to talk about it just simply we are not talking about what happens internally
06:21at our team but there has been a direction established on how we will race and I guess
06:27the best way to shut everybody up is to go out there and dominate stage one
06:32and maybe even go on and win the race so well done Denny Hamlin fifth stage win this year
06:37for the JGR man. This is far from done two more stages to go and the Roval next weekend
06:44pit road is open and it is super busy Dave Burns. The first one to hit is Chase Elliott has a nice
06:49easy entry into his pit stall he said that was better but it's still not where he needed to be remember he
06:54was loose Kim. Top right Christopher Bell said I could definitely tell it was freer and I think
06:58it hurt me on the first few laps but after that I think it's okay so no major changes debate on
07:03what they were going to do during the stop code New York Yankees was the call Marty. Kyle Larson told
07:07Cliff Daniels honestly I thought the car is pretty good not sure we should make many changes he finished
07:12the second in that stage Denny Hamlin who gets a stage win playoff point in the bank for Hamlin he said I'm still
07:18too free once I'm out front the car is still too edgy but that last adjustment was sixty percent of
07:24what I needed and Hamlin will lose some spots here on pit road after winning the stage and the 45 on
07:30pit road in front of you Kim. So a little sloppy not super costly you see him in the third row but a
07:35little sloppy on the 11th. How about we get stage two going of this Hollywood Casino 400 Christopher Bell
07:41on the inside of Kyle Larson and Bell who finished runner-up here in the spring has looked incredibly
07:47strong today he gets a little shove from Ross Chastain Hamlin got into Chastain as well

07:59oh Larson he drove it down into turn three with tons of speed
08:06Bell is able oh wreck off turn four uh-oh John Hunter Nemechek and the 60 of Ryan Priest

08:20what happens here oh just Priest comes up the racetrack yeah gets into the side of Nemechek
08:27Priest needed three lanes to try to save whatever handling issue he was having and he only had two
08:31looks like it starts tight yeah in the back kind of walks around Eric Jones is fully on the brakes
08:36Sendrick playoff driver Sendrick's sneaking through yeah he looks like he got tight like he was in the
08:42middle of you know leaving the corner just gets tight can't get slowed down wow been a terrific day for
08:48Hamlin so far he's led 57 laps and also had a couple of outstanding restarts the last two restarts
08:55but is there an issue with the 11 car listen to the radio just moments ago uh throttle didn't just stick
09:01under caution here um speed we're off the pedals is going

09:32what a turnaround for Bubba Wallace in that U.S. Navy Toyota Camry for 2311 racing he's got Ross Chastain
09:40starting to work on him in that bright orange Kubota Chevy but early in stage one Bubba was miserable he
09:48went backwards big time but the team have done good work Charles de Nike and the crew have made the necessary
09:56changes and he's back and he's back and he's fighting as hard as he can he's 10th in the
10:03playoff standings at the moment 28 below the cut line but if he can surge his way forward and maybe be in the conversation
10:10for another win on the season the Brickyard 400
10:13winner can keep his playoff dreams alive what a fight here between boss and employee
10:22Bubba Wallace and his co-owner
10:25at 2311 Denny Hamlin Hamlin has said before yes I'm a co-owner and I'm involved but when it comes to the
10:33drivers I let them do their thing because I'm out there on the track against them so I focus on what
10:40I'm going to do at JGR and we don't muddy the waters so to speak between the two there's a very clear
10:46line in the sand between me as a co-owner and me as a competitor and as a driver 99 of them right now
10:53is irritated he can't pass the 23 now there's one percent buried way down inside that he's proud of
10:58what he's seeing out of the organization now he's going to be happier now that he's in front of them
11:02and for the first time in this stage Denny Hamlin's lead has been trimmed to less than a second
11:11well he's got problems too because if the 20 can get a run off the top and the 11 doesn't clear the
11:16six right here very important corner exit cleared him oh that is going to be the difference I believe
11:20right there if he got stuck side by side he was going to be in an awkward spot he slipped in front of
11:25the six that should take some pressure off this final lap and you may be wondering why the the six
11:29racing so hard because he's going to be the first car lap down he'll get the wave and be back in the
11:34lead lap because the six has got to start to tail him to the longest line as opposed if he would have
11:39been able to stay on the lead lap he then could have started he would have restarted 27th that is a
11:44big track position difference final lap presented by credit one bank and Denny Hamlin has now led 92
11:50laps here today one stage one and Hamlin's going to win stage two sweeping those stages and doing
11:57everything he can do to make life easier on him next week headed to the roval and speaking of pit
12:03road it is open here we go dave burns fourth place for chase elliott there you saw the points he's
12:09earned on the day he said it's the best it's been all day but i still have the same issue he needs
12:13it to live a little bit longer he said i've been making it work but i've been pressing it pretty hard
12:17kim mr fabel finishes that stage in the second position said i need a number we probably should keep
12:22it on the free side though for this next run they'll put four fresh goodyear tires on it after an air
12:27pressure adjustment marty kyle larson said the balance is not bad this car is just very traffic
12:32sensitive and honestly i need to manage my runs a little bit better denny hamlin wanted playoff points
12:37today well the 11 team has maxed it out so far he said we're better on exit now tight on entry and that
12:44substitute pit crew they come in with the lead and they hold serve here on pit road all day long it's
12:50been joe gibbs racing versus hendrick motorsports it's that story that situation that scenario again stage
12:56three is underway here in kansas hamlin has been the leader of this race for 100 laps is it denny's day
13:08here comes denny hamlin top box this is for the lead of the race and he's through
13:13but watch elliott as denny slides up right in front of him
13:17coming off turn four the 11 is back out in front
13:26denny hamlin is just so impressive we see it every week

13:37more about elliott uh we need the driver the crew chief up here to do a little bit of analysis with
13:43this earlier in the race the right rear was proppy he called it pro ppy proppy and then uh complained
13:50about the rear a little bit uh later on he just said on the radio after he got passed for the lead i
13:55was as easy as i could be on it and after he had the lead he was unable to hold off hamlin so driver
14:00what's going on there he's trying to preserve that right rear isn't he and if today doesn't just prove it
14:05right there's 23 cars the 44 spins this might bring the yellow out let's see what he does in the
14:09grass oh i would thought we were going to see some green flag cycles not so much as the 44 brings the
14:16yellow out with the slow spin through but what i was saying about denike and bubba walls just remember
14:21how vocal bubba was at the beginning and for good reason that car wouldn't run inside the top 10 now
14:25here he is third with great speed let's have a look at what happens then we'll talk more about bubba
14:31wallace keep your eye on the 44. ross chastain is on his inside carson hosovar coming through as well
14:39oh well he just didn't want to lift he tried to turn left and ends up catching the 44 in the rear bumper
14:46here they come dave pit road is coming alive and even crew chiefs play alan gufson will roll out the
14:54right left rear so chase needed something to hang on a little bit better and not abuse that right rear that
14:59was the adjustment they made with eric him stop right bubba wallace my lateral grip has gone away
15:04needs some longevity then bottom left chris real said i'm really close can't trust the back but he
15:09told his crew chief adam stevens do not tighten it up too much marty denny hamlin told chris gale i
15:14probably pushed too much early in that run trying to catch the nine i lost some right front grip at the
15:20end of that run though when the race off pit road remember we talked lee about him having the throttle
15:24sticking earlier that issue now he says i have a steering issue as well in the 11. that was
15:30sticking under this caution and bubba wallace is going to be on his outside his teammate christopher
15:34bell's right behind ready to get this going after a caution back to racing 52 laps to go here in kansas
15:43how bad is this situation for hamlin how well can he manage it big crash into turn one caution caution
15:50caution's back out logano's involved syndric gregson
15:57what happened let's find out mid-pack they all just get stacked up
16:05noah gregson in that green and white four car was the first one to kind of
16:10change lanes but it was because of the stack up
16:20they were just ping-ponging off each other 46 laps to go here in kansas
16:29and denny hamlin leads the field to green he's flanked by his teammate
16:34in christopher bell what's it like in turn one again had a rehearsal before here goes chase briscoe
16:40around on that high side up near the fence it's three jgr toyotas at the front of the pack
16:45but elliot on the inside wallace is stuck in the middle there larson who was seventh when he made
16:51contact with the raw currently
16:57that was denny hamlin a moment ago steve he said i don't know how much longer i can hold it that's
17:02what hamlin said 29 to go he's hanging on for all he can he's been the dominant car today kansas has
17:09snake bitten this 11 team so many times over the year this could be a pivotal moment in the championship
17:15hopes for denny hamlin yeah lean not a word from kyle larson since that brush with the wall the only
17:20transmission on the radio was cliff daniel saying great job saving that and a caution has come out
17:25here with 15 to go there's debris on the track oh yeah tire carcass it looks like and that's probably
17:33from who yeah we saw him in the wall a little bit ago so you have to believe that had something to do
17:51with this pressure around the pit crews at kansas speedway chase elliott from fourth position hits
17:55first he needs his team to go back to the adjustments they had to run before kim
18:00making the call for bubba wallace it's right sides only sounds like and it is in fact right
18:05sides only christopher bell just needs to be a half number three or also right sides only for him
18:10denny hamlin survived 30 green flag laps cam he gets into a stall cleanly without the power steering
18:16how does the exit it's pretty good but they do lose some spots here on pit road taking the two tires
18:21for the 11 team lost a bunch of spots denny hamlin goes from the lead back to sixth place
18:29anything is up for grabs here anybody can win this there's going to be nine laps to go from here
18:36let's do it bell and bubba wallace up front saint smith trying to bulldoze his way through a little
18:43further back who's sneaking through on the inside there chase elliott elliott as hamlin was in the middle
18:53then he moves up look at that light blue kelly blue book dot com chevrolet the four-time winner this
19:01season up against the brickyard 400 winner and the cautions out
19:09carson josevara around now who is the leader here oh no caution oh gosh pardon me
19:14now it flies lights are out on that toyota gr supra you hear the crowd they know something special's on
19:26the line and we have said this many many laps to go any of this front group can win it's been one of
19:35those days it's been superb here in kansas but who has the magic when it counts bell gets a good job
19:45a push from reddick though a little better draft to help
