00:00No white flags for the flag, I took a pledge of allegiance
00:16Break up, stay tough, no one damn will reach you
00:19I finally can see the light
00:23You're not even easy
00:26You're not even easy
00:55One of the most iconic places in motorcycle racing.
00:58I'm glad that this event still exists in modern times
01:03and it's definitely worth being preserved.
01:14The GT time is always the best time for me.
01:18The two weeks I look forward to every single year.
01:22There's so much built up to this point.
01:25So much excitement, but also so many nerves.
01:28There's so much pressure.
01:29For the people that don't know, it's 60 kilometers to do one lap
01:33or 37 and three quarter miles.
01:35Average speed is 136 miles an hour, which is currently myself.
01:40I hold the lap record currently here at the Isle of Man TT.
01:43I think in kilometers, that's 219 kilometers an hour average,
01:49something like this anyway.
01:51It's normal country roads.
01:53It's not a purpose built track.
01:56It has a few bales and a few rectus L barriers put up in places
02:00to try and help us should we fall off or slip off.
02:04But generally speaking, it's just a normal road.
02:06And it's a vast area that has maybe 260 corners with straights over 200 miles an hour.
02:16It's an amazing place to ride a bike and there is nowhere else in the world like it.
02:29You're brain, as you go around the TT course, your brain completely adjusts to this crazy speed that we're doing.
02:41It becomes normal in most areas, but then in some areas that's really built up and
02:48Kurt Michael is the main one where you have the houses directly on the side of the road.
02:54There's no pavement, they're just directly to the front door of the house from the street.
03:00And when you go through there and we're going through maybe 180 miles per hour and what's like nearly 300,
03:11300 kilometers, but it feels like you're doing 500 kilometers because you feel like you're in a tunnel at that speed.
03:20The houses, the road becomes more narrow the faster you go.
03:24I had a big high side in a place which is 180 kilometers an hour.
03:29I've broken my collarbone, my scapula or the shoulder bone in three places as well.
03:35And then three ribs and four vertebrae in my back.
03:38I'm watching Isle of Man TT 2025 instead of competing, but overall I'm actually, yeah, not too bad.
03:47For me and for all the riders that are here, nobody ever sees.
03:52It's not that we don't see the danger, it's that we're more worried about not living than we are living.
03:58And being able to do something like this, for us is living.
04:14I'm not sure where the line is between courage and madness, to be honest.
04:22I thought that the TT is something that's normal for any motorcycle racer or any motorcycle fan even.
04:34I thought that they would come to the TT and want to take part and want to race it.
04:43Why would you not want to race? It seems fun.
04:46So I think maybe the line between the madness line, I don't know where that is in my brain.
04:54Why would you not want to race?
05:03For me, I know I'm one of the favourites and people think that there would be pressure, but
05:09honestly, the most pressure is from myself.
05:15It's not from outside, it's not from sponsors or the team.
05:19It's the most pressure that is on me is always from myself because I always want to win races
05:27and get the best results possible.
05:29And I'll always be trying my hardest to provide these results literally for myself.
05:37And for sure, there's pressure there.
05:40But once I know I got my first wins last year, I know I can do it again.
05:46I'm faster now, I'm better now, better team, better bikes, everything.
05:50And yeah, I can do it again.
06:16I'm faster now, I'm faster now.
06:35Hey, keep it up every time for a minute, who's ready to dare my mind.
06:39You take it anywhere, make a place, they gotta get penalized.
06:42They be the best, then who am I? My crew got the people who leave a while
06:46That's something you should probably keep in mind
06:47Stay in your place, don't give a sign
06:49I ain't leaving them at a time, no matter who better than me or mine
06:53And they get in the way, make a place, they gotta get penalized
06:56Cause they be the best, then who am I? My crew got the people who leave a while
06:59That's something you should probably keep in mind
07:01Stay in your place, don't give a sign
07:12I'm happy, happy back here
07:40He's still on the podium too, still number two
07:43Couldn't ask for much more really
07:45I didn't watch today, I get too nervous
07:47Normally we stand up in the grand sand
07:49But when there's a race that I know he's going to be pushing for
07:52We just sat, go and have an ice cream
07:54Sit down, just watch the live timing instead
07:56Cause I'm like, I don't want to watch it
07:57Everyone came back like, the pit stop was awful, blah blah blah
08:00And I'm just like, I didn't see it, so it's okay
08:02It gets to get the nerves
08:04It's a tough race, not just for the rider but for the bike as well
08:07So you need everything to fall in place to win here at the TT
08:11And today just wasn't the day
08:15We've got another big day tomorrow for the senior
08:18Hopefully everything runs smoother
08:20I think it's really difficult for him to be able to be in the paddock now and watch the racing
08:31He came in the wheelchair and came in the winner's enclosure
08:35And I thought that was so cool that he's not feeling great for sure
08:39And not super well right now but that he gets to still come in the winner's enclosure
08:46Where if you just race for a team and you got injured then you wouldn't come
08:50But we're not just team mates, we're core team owners too
08:54We get on really really well actually
08:56Obviously we're fierce competitors on circuit
08:58And we want to beat each other as much as anything
09:01However at the same time we understand our goals
09:04We understand the goal of the team and the supporters involved
09:08And we know that together we can actually be a stronger unit than what we can be apart
09:13And that is already showing even now
09:16For me it's crazy because I don't feel
09:27I don't understand why almost they want an autograph or photograph with me
09:34It's just I'm just racing motorbikes
09:38It's what I have always wanted to do
09:41All my life I've raced bikes
09:43And I'm just doing what I love doing
09:47So it's, for me I guess it's normal
09:52But at the same time
09:54I remember being a child and going to a race
09:59And asking for the autograph of my favourite races and stuff
10:04And that's the reason I always remember that
10:08Whenever anybody asks for a photograph and signature or something
10:13I will never say no because
10:18I remember how happy it made me when I was a child
10:21To get just a scribble on a piece of paper from one of my heroes
10:27I think that it's harmless
10:30...not a game for years
10:32...not a lot of time
10:34It's really Ooh
10:36I don't know what to do.
11:06honestly the worst bit is the wind the wind's fucking bad and it's the opposite direction
11:33we've had all week that writing to brand me well i'm at 45 degrees and i still can't like
11:38get in until i can't turn you're just like
11:41that's long down the hill and it just doesn't turn at all
11:50just going straight line
12:03attention paddock um as you all know the
12:07of course the riders have now come back the competitors have now come back off the sighting
12:11lap and we've had a consultation with some of the competitors and the the general feeling is is that
12:20it is unsuitable for racing tonight i'm afraid that the senior race for 2025 is cancelled thank you
12:37so
12:56you're right
13:07You
