00:00The Philippines sees the Manila Delhi direct flight as a crucial link for strengthening

00:09tourism and connectivity. This ease of flying, you don't lose a day, this short shorter time

00:20for travel will be an incentive for more Indians to try to discover the Philippines to up and go

00:27and same for business. We know that for Indians with rising incomes, outbound Indian tourists,

00:36travel decisions are moderated by two factors. One is ease of visa access which we have addressed

00:43since June this year with our 14-day visa-free policy for Indian tourists. But the second

00:53criterion is direct flight. We're working with our tourism ministry in order to build on these

01:02incentives especially now that the two base criteria have been met. And also we're also looking at

01:10promoting the Philippines as a destination for Indian film, Indian cinema, because we know that

01:15Indians also love visiting places that they have seen on screen.

01:19Hospitality veteran KB Katru shares his insights on hotel pricing.

01:47Things will improve, they'll stabilize and as far as the inbound is concerned, I think our pricing is not

01:54heavy, what people say. Look at the dollar value, what was 20 years back and what we're charging now.

02:03And when you compare with other gateway cities of the world, we are still a very reasonable destination.
