00:00Those Los Angeles Dodgers head to the friendly confines there at Citizens Bank Park and walk away with another victory,
00:06taking a 2-0 series lead over the Philadelphia Phillies before they even head back to Los Angeles.
00:11And I want to start here with this ballgame joke. Forget about game one, game number two.
00:15The Dodgers priced so high coming into the playoffs, not because of what you think the Dodgers are on the field.
00:19They're 93 wins, the Phillies have 96, and the Dodgers are the away team.
00:23It was the fact of the matter is the playoffs are a different animal than the regular season.
00:26The reason I bring that up is you start to extrapolate and say, well, once you get to the playoffs, how is this going to look?
00:32Oh, look, Shohei Otani, perfectly informed now. He's a starting pitcher. He can go five to six innings pitch.
00:38He could be dominant. Checkmate he was. Wait a second. You got Blake Snell lining in the weight, laying in the weight here.
00:43Cy Young award-winning style pitcher. Oh, he's going to go number two.
00:47And then you have a multitude of superstar pitchers that you can throw behind him here.
00:50The bullpen be damned, I understand it.
00:52But this is why the Dodgers were that unbelievable one through nine lineup with superstar power and then the starting pitching to match if it worked out in their favor, Joe.
01:01And it has. And it turned out yesterday, Snell comes into Philadelphia.
01:04Six innings pitch, one hit, no earned runs, nine Ks. He was filthy last night.
01:09There were opportunities for the Phillies to score off him, but the Phillies don't hit good left-handed pitching.
01:14That's apparent. Matter of fact, the Phillies don't hit good hitting pitching, good pitching at all.
01:18No matter what hand they are, the Dodgers come away with a 4-3 victory over the Phillies.
01:22Forget the damn comeback late for the Phillies. I don't care.
01:25You got to score early when you have the chance.
01:28They couldn't do it once again because that's what this lineup is.
01:32It's kind of amazing when you consider it here, Donnie, because, I mean, we all know those big three, right?
01:39One for 11, six Ks in game one.
01:41Then they go one for 10 with five Ks yesterday.
01:45So, collectively, two for 21 with 11 strikeouts and no extra base hits.
01:50To me, if I'm being glass half full here, how in the hell have the Phillies lost these games by a collective three runs is beyond me, Donnie.
02:01With those guys and those kinds of numbers, it's not like they didn't have still opportunities to overcome those guys not stepping up
02:09and had opportunities to win the game.
02:11So, they're not that far off, one game at a time.
02:14But the problem is, you know, and it was always the problem, and I had said it,
02:18not having Wheeler to be able to be a stopgap somewhere in there to go toe-to-toe with these starters of the Dodgers is rough.
02:27And, you know, they got to play from in front, Donnie.
02:30I think if they can play from in front next game, they got a good shot of at least getting one in.
