00:00Beloved, I stand before you today not to entertain, not to flatter, and certainly not to soften
00:06the truth. I stand here to proclaim what is true, because what is true is what saves,
00:13what sanctifies, and what sustains the church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
00:18We are watching a storm approach. It is not on the horizon, it is at the door. It is ideological,
00:25it is spiritual, and it is absolutely relentless. And unless the church stands firm on the authority
00:32of scripture, the exclusivity of Christ, and the holiness of God, it will not survive intact.
00:39Let me be clear, this will affect all churches soon. We are living in days when truth is not
00:46merely rejected, it is hated. The world no longer asks the church to be quiet, it demands that we
00:53agree, it demands that we affirm what God condemns. It demands that we edit the word of God to suit
01:00the shifting standards of a depraved culture, that is the battlefield, and neutrality is not
01:05an option. Paul warned Timothy that the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine,
01:11but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in
01:15accordance to their own desires, a 2 Timothy 4, 3. That time is here, we are being told that love
01:22means silence, that compassion means compromise, that relevance means rewriting God's word.
01:28But love without truth is deception. Compassion without holiness is sentimentalism.
01:35Relevance without the gospel is apostasy. You must understand something. Church, persecution never
01:40begins with violence. It begins with legislation. It begins with policies. It begins with social pressure
01:47to redefine sin, to soften the gospel, to be more inclusive, by becoming less biblical. And when that
01:55happens, the church must not bend, not one inch. Jesus said in Matthew 24 that in the last days many
02:03will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. Many false prophets will arise and
02:09will mislead many. Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold. But what did he say
02:15next? But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. We must endure, not accommodate. We must
02:22shepherd, not entertain. We must preach the truth, not peddle comfort. And we must be prepared to suffer
02:29for it. Christ promised that his church would prevail. But he never promised that it would be popular.
02:35He never said it would be protected by earthly powers. He said, If the world hates you, you know that
02:41it has hated me before it hated you. John 15, 18. That is our legacy. That is our calling. So what do we do
02:50as this pressure mounts? We preach. We disciple. We pray. We train up men who will not sell out the pulpit
02:57for cultural applause. We teach our children that their identity is in Christ, not in feelings or movements
03:04or slogans. And we cling to the unchanging word of God as the only source of authority, comfort and life.
03:13Let me leave you with this. The church of Jesus Christ is not fragile. It doesn't need to evolve
03:19with the times. It needs to be faithful to the word. The early church didn't grow because it was liked by
03:26the world. It grew because it was filled with truth, filled with boldness, filled with the Holy Spirit,
03:33and willing to be hated. That is the kind of church that will endure. That is the kind of church that
03:40will glorify Christ in an age of compromise. And that is the kind of church we must be.
03:46This will affect all churches soon. But the true church, the blood, bought, spirit, empowered church
03:53will not bow. It will not break. And it will not be silenced. The authority of scripture must remain
04:00non-negotiable. The church is not built on human wisdom, popular opinion, or shifting cultural values.
04:08It is built on the infallible, inerrant, and sufficient word of God. When the church begins
04:14to treat the Bible as optional, adjustable, or merely symbolic, it ceases to be the church of Jesus Christ.
04:21God has spoken, and his word is final. The authority of scripture is not subject to debate.
04:27It does not rise and fall with the trends of modern philosophy, psychological theories,
04:34or political agendas. It stands alone as the only trustworthy source of divine truth in a world
04:41given over to lies. In every generation, the church has been tempted to dilute the word of God
04:48to make it more acceptable to the culture. Whether through subtle reinterpretation, selective omission,
04:55or outright denial, the temptation is always the same. Make the message more palatable by removing
05:02what offends. But scripture was not given to please the world. It was given to sanctify the church.
05:09Jesus prayed to the Father in John 17, 17, Sanctify them in the truth. Your word is truth.
05:17If the church abandons the authority of the word, it forfeits the means by which it is made holy,
05:23equipped, and faithful. The sufficiency of scripture is likewise under attack.
05:29Many today claim that the Bible is good for spiritual matters, but insufficient for dealing
05:34with the complexities of life, gender, family, justice, and human identity.
05:39That is a lie. 2 Timothy 3, 16-17 declares that all scripture is inspired by God and profitable
05:48for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God
05:54may be adequate, equipped for every good work. Scripture is not just helpful. It is completely
06:00sufficient to equip the believer for every good work. There is no need to supplement divine truth
06:06with worldly ideologies or secular systems. The church needs to return to a robust confidence in
06:13the word of God as the sole foundation for life and ministry. Churches that surrender the authority
06:20of scripture become powerless. They lose their voice, their clarity, and their impact.
06:26When pastors stand in pulpits and preach opinions, motivational slogans, or cultural commentary rather
06:33than God's truth, they are no longer shepherds of the flock, but entertainers of the crowd.
06:38The word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit.
06:45It confronts, convicts, and transforms. That is why it is resisted, and that is why it must be
06:51proclaimed without apology. The authority of scripture does not require validation by the world.
06:58It does not need to be revised, modernized, or softened to gain influence.
07:03Its power lies not in how cleverly it is delivered, but in the fact that it is the voice of God.
07:10To question or compromise its authority is to question the authority of the one who breathed it.
07:17And when that happens, the foundation crumbles.
07:21Cultural compromise will lead to apostasy. The pattern is consistent throughout history.
07:27When the people of God begin to mirror the world rather than reflect the holiness of God,
07:32they drift into spiritual ruin. The church is called to be distinct, set apart, a light in the
07:39darkness, not a mirror of it. Yet in our day, many churches have blurred the lines between biblical
07:45conviction and cultural conformity. In an effort to be accepted, to seem loving, or to avoid offense,
07:53they have redefined sin, reimagined justice, and replaced sound doctrine with emotional appeals.
07:59The result is a generation of professing believers who cannot distinguish between the voice of Christ
08:06and the voice of the culture. Apostasy does not begin with outright denial of the gospel.
08:12It begins with subtle accommodations, allowing the world's values to shape the message of the church.
08:19It begins when pastors stop preaching on sin because it's unpopular.
08:24It begins when churches embrace worldly ideologies under the banner of relevance.
08:30It begins when scripture is twisted to support agendas that are hostile to the truth.
08:36James 4, 4 says,
08:38Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God?
08:42The church cannot be both faithful to Christ and approved by the world.
08:47The moment cultural acceptance becomes the goal, faithfulness to God becomes optional.
08:53Cultural compromise often masquerades as compassion.
08:57Churches say they are loving people by softening their stance on issues like sexuality,
09:02gender, marriage, or the exclusivity of Christ.
09:06But love that hides the truth is not love at all. It is deception.
09:10Real love tells the truth, even when it is costly.
09:15The gospel itself is offensive to a world that hates the holiness of God and the lordship of Christ.
09:23Jesus said,
09:24If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.
09:30That message does not align with the self-centered, affirming culture
09:35that demands validation for every lifestyle and belief.
09:40The church that compromises in order to be accepted will soon find itself preaching a gospel
09:46that no longer saves.
09:49The progression from compromise to apostasy is often slow, almost imperceptible at first.
09:55A softened sermon here, a neglected doctrine there, and before long the foundation is eroded.
10:02What remains may still have the name of church on the sign, but the power is gone.
10:06The lampst and is removed.
10:09The presence of Christ is no longer among them.
10:12Revelation speaks clearly about churches that tolerate false teaching,
10:17immorality, and spiritual apathy.
10:19The warning is not just for ancient congregations.
10:23It is for us.
10:24When a church chooses cultural credibility over biblical integrity, it may grow in popularity,
10:32but it is dying in truth.
10:34The word of God does not change, and neither does the call to holiness.
10:39The church is not tasked with adjusting the message to fit the times,
10:44but with proclaiming the unchanging truth in every season.
10:48When that charge is abandoned in favor of fitting in, the result is not merely error.
10:55It is apostasy.
10:57True churches must prepare to suffer for truth.
11:00The idea that faithful Christianity guarantees comfort, acceptance, and ease is foreign to Scripture.
11:07Jesus said in John 15, 20,
11:11If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you.
11:14The apostles were not praised for their boldness.
11:17They were beaten, imprisoned, and martyred.
11:21The early church did not grow by aligning with culture.
11:24It flourished under pressure, in caves, in chains, and under threat of death.
11:29The truth is never welcome in a world that is enslaved to lies,
11:34and those who stand for truth must be ready to pay a price for it.
11:39Today, we are entering a season where the cost of faithfulness is rising.
11:44The culture is increasingly hostile toward biblical convictions,
11:49especially when they confront the idols of identity, morality, and authority.
11:55Churches that speak clearly about sin, judgment, salvation, and the lordship of Christ
12:02will be labeled as hateful, divisive, and dangerous.
12:06Pastors who refuse to compromise will be pressured, censored, or even prosecuted.
12:12Members who hold fast to biblical truth in the public square may lose jobs, reputations, or freedoms.
12:21This is not alarmism.
12:23It is the logical result of a world that calls evil good and good evil.
12:28Suffering for truth is not an unfortunate consequence of discipleship.
12:33It is part of the call.
12:35Philippians 1, 29 says,
12:37For it has been granted to you for Christ's sake, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for his sake.
12:44The New Testament repeatedly presents suffering as a mark of genuine faith.
12:50It purifies the church, exposes false converts, and displays the surpassing worth of Christ.
12:56When the cost of following Jesus is high, only those who truly treasure him will remain.
13:04That is why suffering is often the furnace where real churches are forged.
13:09A comfortable Christianity, free of opposition, is usually a compromised Christianity.
13:15The churches that the world applauds are often the ones that have abandoned biblical fidelity.
13:20They may grow in size, they may receive praise from the media, but they are not confronting sin, calling for repentance, or exalting the exclusive claims of Christ.
13:31They are admired because they are harmless to the world.
13:34But the true church is a threat to the darkness.
13:37It speaks light into it, it confronts it, it disrupts it, and for that, it will suffer.
13:42True churches must prepare their people for this reality.
13:45They must preach the whole counsel of God, not just the parts that are easy to hear.
13:49They must disciple believers to endure hardship, to resist compromise, and to find their hope not in earthly peace, but in eternal truth.
13:59They must raise up men who will shepherd the flock with courage, who will stand in the pulpit with conviction, and who will not flinch when the pressure comes.
14:08The days of cultural Christianity are fading, and what will remain are those churches that are grounded in truth and willing to suffer for it.
