00:00PKR's Disciplinary Board has suspended Wang Samajiu Division Chief Lai Chen Heng for a year

00:06following the circulation of a video in which he appears to discuss financial matters involving the division.

00:12Wang Samajiu MP Zahir Hassan said he was made to understand the suspension would last a year,

00:18with Lai's Deputy Azmi Abdul Rahim taking over as Acting Division Chief.

00:22Federal Territory's PKR Chief Azman Abedin also confirmed the suspension, stating it took effect last Friday.

00:30The video in question appeared to show Lai commenting on financial contributions from a prominent businessman,

00:36allegedly referring to them as unaudited funds linked to a senior political leader.

00:41Lai said the clip had been selectively edited and circulated with malicious intent to assassinate his character during the PKR election season.

00:50In April, Lai denied claims of manipulation in the division's 2024 financial statements

00:56and later retained his position as Wang Samajiu PKR Chief by defeating Zahir by 92 votes.
