00:00Previously, the team that wins the block this year is obviously going to build a magnificent home, but they're going to have the best garden.
00:06Scotty really pushed the point when we first arrived about landscaping and how important it is here at Dalesford.
00:12Landscaping will probably win you the block this year.
00:14Half an acre of landscaping is a six-month job. You've got under three.
00:18This property is massive. This landscaping goes through the roof.
00:22We're allowed to sort of landscape early this time.
00:24I needed to lock in a landscape park ASAP.
00:27How you doing?
00:28Good, thank you.
00:29You could arguably fit three previous block backyards into one of these places.
00:33Big space. Big space means a lot of things that need to be done, which means a lot of money.
00:37Hustle is going to be our motto for this season. Hustle, hustle, hustle.
00:40We were talking about landscaping plans from day dot. Gardens are so important to us.
00:45I've got all this crazy paving coming in for here. That's going to be our point of difference.
00:50They keep just saying any money you win is going to go into your landscape.
00:54Tonight, Backyard Week officially begins.
00:58Best week of the block.
00:59Yeah.
01:00We can't wait.
01:00We can't wait.
01:00Full on week.
01:01It is going to be epic.
01:03Provided we can pull it off.
01:05Being outside, it's a whole new playing field.
01:07Just the scale of this week is ginormous.
01:10There's so many trees.
01:11I just don't know how we're going to pull it off.
01:13It's nearly unrealistic to think that you could landscape this whole backyard in a week.
01:18Keep calm and drink tea.
01:20We had poured a little bit of the concrete. Other than that, we've done no landscaping.
01:24Yeah, we have a lot to do.
01:25Let's make this luck ridiculous.
01:27We have this huge seven and a half ton fireplace and then an 18 by eight pickleball court.
01:32No other house has got that.
01:33And as we've reached the end of the competition, it seems all is fair in love and landscaping.
01:39Our point of difference to the landscape is these rocks and now they're in your landscape.
01:44Well, it's on our land.
01:45Finders keepers.
01:46Yeah.
01:47Loseers weepers.
01:47It's week 11 and it is the biggest week of them all.
02:01It's landscaping week.
02:02Garden says so much to a house.
02:05Like, it sells a house.
02:07We love landscaping.
02:08And driving through Dalesford, you see all these amazing back and front yards.
02:11You see the work that people put into them.
02:19So to sell this house, yes, your interior needs to be great, but your outdoors just needs to be next level.
02:32Yep, in just seven days, our blockheads need to turn these piles of dirt into backyards worthy of their Dalesford surroundings.
02:39But needless to say, it's going to be a very busy week.
02:44So we've got the entire backyard, the pool cabana, everything around the pool, all the landscaping, the earth moving, the excavation.
02:55There's a lot.
02:57Busy stuff.
02:58Concrete pours in one, two, three and five today.
03:00We've already got two pumps here.
03:02There's going to be a lot happening.
03:04Last week's going to look like kids playing in a sand pit compared to the next two weeks.
03:08All right.
03:10That's it for today.
03:11Be nice to each other.
03:12Have a coffee.
03:16Did you enjoy last night, Shayla?
03:18Yeah.
03:19What was shown?
03:20The first episode.
03:21So funny.
03:23Sunday night after judging, we watched the first episode.
03:26Welcome to our 21st season of The Block.
03:34It's weird seeing yourself on TV.
03:35Yeah.
03:36I loved it.
03:37Yeah, we thought it was cool.
03:37I loved watching that.
03:38They captured our back story so well.
03:40Desiree always has to take us to the shops.
03:43She loved all because she sings her songs in the back of the car.
03:49We're just like best mates.
03:50Close to getting the age where we're looking to start families and all that.
03:57Surprise.
03:59It was awesome.
04:01Nice surprise.
04:01Really nice.
04:02Yeah.
04:02Because I will not cop that.
04:04I did nothing towards you and nor have I done anything towards you this entire time.
04:09Not one thing.
04:11We walked out of that yarn.
04:12Sweet.
04:13That's us.
04:13We loved it.
04:14Yeah.
04:14We are who we are.
04:15We all saw ourselves on TV and it was like wow.
04:28We had a good laugh but we were enjoying ourselves and we have ever since.
04:32Who was not happy with how they was portrayed?
04:37Not portrayed but was anyone not happy?
04:40You're trying to get a million things done really quickly.
04:43So now I've lost to us here.
04:45It was like I just got torn off by my parents.
04:51How's your hand?
04:52You alright?
04:53Hiding in that hoodie.
04:56You alright?
04:58No.
04:59I think she's embarrassed about it.
05:04Everything.
05:04It was like f***.
05:12Just watching myself be like disgusted with house two.
05:16To me it came across like I was ungrateful.
05:20This is a problem to me.
05:22This retaining wall.
05:24It's so ugly.
05:27I hate it.
05:27I hate it.
05:30I just look like a spoiled brat.
05:33That's how it felt watching it and that's why I was like.
05:37That's why I was like oh gross.
05:39Like I feel gross about myself.
05:40I feel gross about the situation.
05:44This is the world that we live in.
05:49I feel myself in the time.
05:52This is the world that we live in.
05:57Watching the first episode was a little cringe.
06:00The first couple weeks for us like we didn't know what we were in for.
06:04We were like I don't know like birds who had just left them nest and were struggling to fly.
06:11The next two weeks just want to have a bit of fun.
06:13We used to have so much fun together.
06:15We used to get along so well.
06:16We never argued before we came on the block.
06:19We used to be friends.
06:19We used to be friends.
06:20Now we're enemies.
06:21Can you believe it?
06:22We're enemies.
06:24It's okay.
06:25We'll see what happens after the block.
06:26Monday morning we...
06:33We're feeling good.
06:34Oh we feel fantastic.
06:35We're feeling 40 grand richer.
06:36With a perfect score.
06:3930 out of 30.
06:41We did it.
06:41We got a perfect score.
06:43We won the week and we got a 10 from every judge.
06:50Congratulations boys.
06:52Last night the boys revealed their highly anticipated wine cellar.
06:57That's been 10 weeks in the making.
06:58And the judges absolutely loved it.
07:02Oh look at this.
07:10This is the perfect wine cellar.
07:12This is a home run.
07:15They now don't have the same houses.
07:18Yeah.
07:18And put themselves in a totally new bracket because of what they've added.
07:23While all the teams delivered their alfresco area and sheds last night,
07:29this morning at the Domain Open for Inspections,
07:32everyone's focus is on the boys' wine cellar.
07:35Oh my gosh.
07:38Wow.
07:39I love it.
07:41Wow.
07:42So cool.
07:43The boys just smashed it out of the park.
07:45Three 10s.
07:46Incredible.
07:48That's f***ing tick.
07:49Wow.
07:50Language.
07:53I tried so hard to fault it,
07:56but it honestly was freaking epic.
07:59Wow.
07:59Look at the floor.
08:00How amazing did that look?
08:04Far out.
08:06Very cool.
08:07They nailed it.
08:0910 out of 10 out of 10 out of 10 out of 10.
08:12Oh my God.
08:12I feel sorry for anybody else who's doing a cellar
08:15because this is just like,
08:17you can't compete.
08:19You guys have a cellar coming up?
08:21We do.
08:21We do have a cellar coming up.
08:22I feel like we've got like big boots to fill.
08:25Yeah.
08:26I need to take a photo so we can copy the whole thing.
08:32Wow, wow, we are.
08:33Wow, this is cool.
08:35Look at the amount of wine.
08:37You would find me down here all day.
08:39Imagine how much,
08:40how litty, titty, mcnitty we would get down here, hand.
08:43Very well deserved.
08:44And if I had my time again,
08:47I would come here with Robbie.
08:56Thanks, babe.
08:57The other space everyone is keen to check out this morning
09:01is in house three.
09:04They came third last night with a score of 27 points.
09:08We wanted to be up there with the boys.
09:09We wanted to really test them.
09:11So that's why we threw so much at it.
09:13We created a speakeasy in the shed.
09:16Is this a shed?
09:18This does not feel like a shed.
09:21Is this compliant?
09:22I don't know if this is going to get signed off.
09:27This is such a gamble.
09:33Oh.
09:35Ooh.
09:36Nice.
09:37Not compliant.
09:39Wow.
09:40This is a bar.
09:43You're not allowed to produce a room
09:46that you're going to spend longer than 40 minutes in.
09:50Like, if you're not supposed to encourage people
09:51to spend time in here,
09:52this is about as encouraging as it gets.
09:58I'm going out there and I'm getting drunk.
10:01That'll only take 20 minutes.
10:03Yeah, true.
10:06Oh, my goodness.
10:09Wow.
10:10The shed was...
10:13Illegal.
10:15Not allowed.
10:16That's what the shed was.
10:17The shed was the most gorgeous tasting room,
10:20which I loved.
10:21Don't get me wrong.
10:23But not allowed.
10:28That was my plan,
10:29and I got declined on multiple occasions.
10:32So I was pissed off.
10:37For me, it was like,
10:38how do you have what?
10:40It's okay.
10:42I know it's okay,
10:43but I'm allowed to be, like,
10:45pissed off about it being unfair.
10:46I ask all those questions, right?
10:50And we get told no.
10:51So, like, I'm like,
10:52how is it okay for one
10:53and not the other?
10:56I don't know.
10:56Don't worry about it.
10:57I'm worried about it.
10:58It is what it is.
10:59Who cares, Hannah?
11:00I care, Candice.
11:01We move on.
11:02Two weeks to go.
11:03Just embrace it.
11:04It's fine.
11:05So, Candice,
11:06you were becoming frustrated as well,
11:07and you seemed to get a bit upset.
11:09It's just Hans' attitude.
11:10She was so negative.
11:14Like, literally,
11:15if anything you used to learn
11:16off watching the episode last night,
11:18is you and I need to have more fun.
11:19It would take it way too seriously.
11:22It's a TV show, Hannah.
11:23It's not life or death.
11:24I definitely want to enjoy
11:28the last couple of weeks.
11:29It's just, um...
11:31It's hard.
11:34Body's sore.
11:36Mind's gassed.
11:38Yeah, fatigue's setting in.
11:40I don't know.
11:40It's just like watching that s*** last night.
11:42It's just...
11:44I look like such a f***ing head.
11:47No, you don't, babe.
11:48No, you don't.
11:49You look like someone
11:50who's passionate about what they do.
11:51Yeah, it was a very hard,
11:53emotional morning
11:55for me.
12:00It's okay.
12:00I've had lots.
12:01Yeah.
12:03We all got you.
12:04We got you, guys.
12:05We got you.
12:06Thanks.
12:06I've had this day.
12:08While Han composes herself,
12:10the teams head to the green room
12:11to see the domain listings go live.
12:15Good to see the pictures
12:16on the domain board.
12:18Stunning.
12:19Oh, beautiful.
12:20Stunning.
12:21The pics on the domain board
12:22looked incredible.
12:23You deserve all the tens.
12:25Thank you very much.
12:28It was interesting
12:29to watch last night's
12:30first episode
12:31and I forgot how fast
12:33it all started to happen
12:35from week one.
12:36Talk to me.
12:37I want to...
12:37Talk to me.
12:38Dig a cellar.
12:40You want to dig a cellar?
12:41I want to put a cellar in.
12:43And then for last night
12:44for it to be...
12:44Yeah, it was special.
12:47After watching the episode
12:49last Sunday,
12:49we're going in
12:50and we're going to have
12:50some fun for the next two weeks.
12:52Yeah.
12:53We are going out
12:54with a bang
12:55and we're going to enjoy
12:55every last second.
12:57I just think it's important
12:58for Han and Ken
12:59that they know
13:01that we're all here for them.
13:02Home stretch though, guys.
13:03Home stretch.
13:04Two weeks to go
13:04and then we're going home.
13:05We'll be alright.
13:06We're surrounded
13:07by like the most
13:07incredible neighbours
13:09here on the block.
13:11We will carry you through.
13:12We will hug you.
13:13We will love on you guys.
13:16Han and I are on this
13:17ride together
13:17and we both get frustrated
13:19together and we feel together
13:20and we get disappointed together
13:21but I love you to bits.
13:23I love you to bits too.
13:24And you're doing amazing.
13:26You've done amazing.
13:31Thanks.
13:34It's too beautiful.
13:36It's the first day
13:50of Backyard and Pool Week,
13:52the busiest week on the block
13:53and the stakes are high
13:55as every team wants to claim
13:57they have the best backyard
13:58come auction.
14:01Landscaping week
14:01is probably one of the most
14:03important weeks
14:04and if you win
14:05landscaping week
14:06you've got a really good crack
14:07at taking home the competition.
14:10Our blockheads
14:11have been working hard
14:12with their landscapers
14:13over the past few weeks
14:14to get their plans
14:15for their backyards approved
14:16so they can hit the ground
14:18running this morning.
14:20They're going to need
14:21to make the most
14:22of every minute
14:23because come Sunday
14:24they'll deliver
14:25some of the biggest
14:26backyards we've ever seen
14:28with each one measuring
14:29more than a thousand
14:30square metres.
14:31From day one
14:33we said kitchen
14:34and backyard landscaping
14:36is our number one priority.
14:38Best week of the block.
14:39Yeah.
14:40We can't wait.
14:40Full on week.
14:42Budget is 50k
14:43which is not...
14:45Not enough.
14:46At all.
14:47What does 50k
14:48get you in the landscaping world?
14:49Three trees.
14:52Pretty much.
14:53This is why Scotty
14:54from day one
14:55said start your landscape now
14:56and you need more money.
14:58Yep.
14:59From the beginning
15:00of the competition
15:01I encourage teams
15:02to save as much money
15:04as they could
15:04for landscaping.
15:06This week
15:07they'll need to complete
15:07their entire backyard
15:09pool area
15:10and pool cabana
15:11and they'll also need
15:12to make sure
15:13they have enough money
15:14left in their budgets
15:15to finish next week's front yard.
15:19Because it was always
15:20going to be a hard task
15:22last week
15:23Combank
15:23stepped in
15:24and offered some help.
15:25Combank
15:26are giving
15:27each team
15:28a budget boost
15:30of $50,000.
15:33Oh, stop!
15:35Oh my god!
15:37Who has the most
15:38amount of money
15:39at this point?
15:39Who's doing okay
15:40with the budget?
15:41I think
15:41House 3,
15:43Britt and Taz.
15:43House 3's probably
15:44got the most money
15:45I would think.
15:46They've won a lot.
15:46They won 50k in a week.
15:48But then
15:48Sonny and Lucia
15:49don't really tend
15:50to spend much money.
15:51Ben and Emma.
15:52You know,
15:52they won the 50k
15:53for the domain.
15:54$50,000
15:55in cash
15:56thanks to domain.
15:58Well,
15:59I've done the math
16:00and I can tell you
16:01exactly how much
16:02each team is spending
16:03on their backyards.
16:05Em and Ben
16:06have allocated
16:06the most
16:07at $130,000
16:09which also
16:10needs to pay
16:11for the wine
16:11cellar
16:12they want to
16:13present this week.
16:15Britt and Taz
16:15plan to spend
16:16$100,000.
16:18Sonny and Alicia
16:19at $90,000.
16:21Robbie and Matt
16:22are spending
16:23$70,000
16:24but they've also
16:25won a $50,000
16:26fireplace
16:27and a $50,000
16:29pickleball court
16:30to include
16:31in their backyard.
16:33So that leaves
16:34Han and Can
16:34who have the least
16:35amount to spend
16:36just $50,000
16:38which according
16:40to Taz
16:40should get them
16:41three trees.
16:43It's hard this week.
16:45Dive straight
16:46to House 2.
16:48Because the
16:48backyards this
16:49year are so big
16:50I also suggest
16:51that the blockheads
16:52start their
16:52landscaping early
16:54to give them
16:54the best chance
16:55of finishing on time.
16:58House 3 and House 5
16:59are the only ones
17:00who took me up
17:01on this advice.
17:02They've both had
17:03landscapers here
17:04for weeks already
17:05giving them a clear
17:06advantage heading
17:07into this week.
17:09So we started
17:09landscaping three
17:10weeks ago.
17:11All the levels
17:11have been done
17:12all the concrete
17:13that we needed
17:13to be poured
17:14is poured.
17:16It's going really
17:16well.
17:16We're in a really
17:17really good spot.
17:18Quite happy
17:19where we're at.
17:20Britton Taz's
17:21landscaper Troy
17:22is no stranger
17:23to the block
17:24having been on
17:25board for the
17:26past three seasons.
17:28He's known
17:29for his modern
17:29contemporary style
17:30and has produced
17:32some beautiful
17:32backyards
17:33including Tom
17:35and Sarah
17:35Jane's winning
17:36landscape
17:36back in Gismet.
17:39It's good
17:39to have Troy
17:40on board
17:41because he's
17:41so meticulous
17:42with everything
17:42he needs to get
17:43done.
17:43So not only
17:44does he do
17:45the landscaping
17:46side of the
17:46render side
17:47of the thing
17:47and everything
17:47like that
17:48but he'll also
17:48get on the
17:49tools.
17:49He's a very
17:50good project
17:51manager.
17:52I reckon
17:52we're in a
17:53good shape
17:54best spot.
17:55And once you
17:55put all these
17:56trees in
17:57the creek
17:57through here
17:57mate
17:58it's next
17:58level.
17:59So how we're
18:00trying to set
18:00ourselves apart
18:01is being very
18:02on brief
18:03with Daylesford.
18:04So people
18:05here love
18:06landscapes.
18:07It's all about
18:07natural beauty,
18:08sustainability,
18:09wellness.
18:10So our house
18:11is a wellness
18:11house so
18:12incorporating that
18:13into the
18:13landscapes as
18:14well.
18:15Our plan is to
18:16walk out from
18:16your back doors
18:17through your
18:17fresco.
18:18You've got your
18:18seating area
18:19around a
18:20beautiful stone
18:21cladded fireplace.
18:22You've got a
18:22nice little runway
18:23of grass.
18:24You turn left
18:25and you go to
18:26the wellness area
18:27which is your
18:27sauna, your
18:28ice bar, spa
18:29and then from
18:30there you've got
18:31a pool cabana.
18:32And we have
18:32beautiful timber
18:33arbors from
18:34trees that have
18:35fallen down in
18:36the area.
18:36A natural creek
18:37runoff.
18:38We have a
18:39greenhouse,
18:39chicken coop,
18:40veggie gardens.
18:42It is going to
18:42be epic.
18:43The plans are
18:44there.
18:45Let's hope we
18:46pull it off.
18:47House 3's epic
18:48plans also include
18:49an epic amount
18:50of plants with
18:51more than 2,000
18:52trees and shrubs
18:53going into their
18:54backyard.
18:55So this morning
18:56Troy is meeting
18:57with Julie from
18:58Pope to talk
18:59about irrigation.
19:00As you can see
19:01the plants are
19:02going in this
19:02morning.
19:03Yeah, it all
19:03looks fantastic.
19:04So we are
19:05supplying a lot
19:06of the irrigation
19:07kits here for the
19:08block.
19:08Amazing.
19:08We are doing
19:09the Pope PC
19:10drip line which
19:11is perfect for
19:12all this heavy
19:12planting through
19:13here.
19:14Yep.
19:14So it's just
19:15really easy to
19:16use.
19:17You just need to
19:17roll it out.
19:18It's got little
19:18emitters every
19:1930 centimetres
19:20along which
19:21will just emit
19:22an even flow of
19:23water.
19:23All the houses
19:24this year will
19:25also have a
19:26rainbow controller
19:27system.
19:28That can be
19:28accessed via an
19:29app.
19:30So the owners
19:30will be able to
19:31control the flow
19:32of water with a
19:33touch of a button.
19:34So you can
19:34control your
19:35irrigation if you're
19:36on the couch,
19:37if you're on
19:38holidays, even
19:38overseas.
19:39And you're
19:39looking at like
19:4030% water
19:41savings by using
19:42a system like
19:43this.
19:49Aiden turns up.
19:52Can we go over
19:53your shed?
19:55Yeah, of course.
19:58I love Aiden.
20:00I think he's a
20:00great dude.
20:01I just don't like
20:02him when he comes
20:02to my house.
20:06The brief for the
20:06sheds that were
20:07delivered last
20:08night was that
20:09they couldn't be a
20:09habitable room,
20:11meaning you wouldn't
20:11spend more than an
20:12hour at a time in
20:13them.
20:15But what Britton
20:16Taz delivered has
20:17raised some concerns.
20:19This morning we've
20:20been having a look
20:20around with our
20:21bidding surveyor at
20:22all the sheds, and
20:25he's not terribly
20:25happy in here.
20:26And not every
20:27this one?
20:27No.
20:28Why?
20:29It's the fact that
20:30it's not really what
20:31we were talking about
20:32what it was going to
20:33be, really.
20:34That's what's in the
20:34plan.
20:35We spoke about the
20:37plastering, we spoke
20:38about cabinets,
20:39insulation,
20:40water racks.
20:41And we also spoke
20:43about how the whole
20:45thing's presented in
20:46the end.
20:47And a block of
20:48storage on a plan
20:50compared to a nice
20:52stone bench, and
20:53there's a bit of a
20:55difference between
20:56having a wine cellar
20:58with a bench you can
20:59have a glass of wine
21:00at, and having a
21:01flat-out bar.
21:02You thought it was a
21:03bar area.
21:03Why would you think
21:04that?
21:04Describe this place to
21:05me, please.
21:05This place is like
21:07as shed as shed
21:08can be.
21:08It's got skylights,
21:10it's got...
21:11It's got floor,
21:12a hard-foot floor.
21:13It's got floor-to-ceiling
21:14wine.
21:14It's got curtains.
21:15So it's a bar.
21:17Well, it's not a bar.
21:18It's sort of a cellar,
21:20but not a cellar.
21:20If we had have seen a
21:22drawing with this big
21:23kitchen bench in here,
21:24I would have said,
21:25you've got no way.
21:27The basic bit is for us
21:29to finish these builds
21:30and get an occupancy
21:31permit, for you to be
21:33able to sell it at
21:34auction.
21:35We currently don't have
21:37our surveyors' approval
21:38for this room as it is,
21:41so we've got to change
21:42it.
21:42What the hell?
21:46Like, we've sacrificed
21:47three months, you know,
21:49of our lives to be here
21:50at the end of the day
21:51to try and sell the house
21:52to set our young family
21:53up, and then for him to
21:55say, well, you can't
21:55sell your house, you're
21:56like, well, that's why
21:58we're here.
22:01So a wine cellar's not
22:02habitable space, right?
22:03Correct.
22:04So, like, same with the
22:04boys, as an example.
22:06But they've got a wine
22:07cellar with a bench there,
22:09yeah?
22:10Yeah.
22:10They've got a large
22:11amount of wine being
22:11stored.
22:13We're sitting in an area
22:14with a nice, big, open
22:15kitchen bench with
22:17skylights.
22:17That's not kitchen.
22:18That's not, that's just,
22:19they've got the exact
22:19same stone as us.
22:20Exact same thing.
22:21It's just, we're getting
22:22double standards here.
22:23Yeah, it's just not fair.
22:24I don't think you're
22:24getting double standards here.
22:25Yeah, I reckon?
22:26I don't think you are at
22:26all.
22:27Most of that room is
22:28dominated by it being a
22:30wine cellar.
22:31Very little of this room
22:32is about it being a
22:34wine cellar.
22:35It's, it's not a wine
22:36cellar.
22:37So if I add more wine,
22:38essentially, is what
22:39you're saying, I can get
22:40some more custom work made
22:41up in there to put more
22:42wine.
22:43So what is it?
22:43So you're telling us a
22:44problem.
22:45Yeah.
22:45Okay, we're obviously not
22:46builders.
22:46You're the one who's
22:47going to tick off on this.
22:47So what's the solution?
22:49I'm not here to try and
22:51tell you what to do or how
22:52to do it, right?
22:53We're just trying to get
22:53it.
22:53That's your job, right?
22:54You need to tell us we
22:55can't sell it out.
22:56But for me, for me, it's
22:58more of a bar than it is a
22:59wine cellar, yeah?
23:00If you make it more of a
23:02wine cellar and not a
23:04bar, then the building
23:06surveyor will go, okay,
23:07cool, that's a wine cellar.
23:10Why don't you sketch
23:11something up and we'll get
23:12the surveyor to approve
23:13it, but put more detail in
23:15it?
23:16Sorry to be the bearer of
23:17bad news.
23:18Oh, something cut.
23:20It just dampens what is
23:22meant to be one of our
23:23most exciting weeks in
23:25landscaping week.
23:26Like, we have been
23:27looking forward to this
23:28since we started.
23:28It's just so frustrating
23:32because...
23:33Because you try to do
23:34the right thing, right?
23:35And get everything ticked
23:36off and it was.
23:37And then for them now to
23:38say, oh, actually...
23:39Actually, we won't sell
23:40you out.
23:40Like, it's just so
23:41rubbish.
23:42It doesn't make any sense
23:44and we're just getting
23:44to give it.
23:47I can't wait to go
23:48home.
23:49Couldn't agree more.
23:50It's f***ing.
23:53Ah!
23:55Ow!
23:55To get even more of
23:58the block, head to
23:59Domain and see the
24:00latest block listings.
24:01See room reveals, floor
24:03plans and behind-the-scenes
24:04content.
24:05Only on Domain.
24:20It's a mid-morning
24:21backyard week and it's
24:22quite interesting to see
24:23the teams that had their
24:24landscapers here weeks
24:25ago, they're coasting.
24:27So house three and house
24:28five, they're in a good
24:29spot.
24:29But houses one, two and
24:31house four, they're way
24:33behind.
24:37Walking into this week,
24:39we're feeling confident.
24:40Obviously, we have all this
24:41land, but we're so lucky
24:42because we have this huge
24:44seven-and-half tonne
24:45fireplace and then an 18 by
24:47eight pickleball court.
24:49No other house has got
24:50that.
24:51Robby and Matt's
24:52landscaper, Paul, is
24:53located in Dalesford.
24:55He's been on the block once
24:57before.
24:58In 2018, he delivered a
25:00winning terrace for Norm and
25:01Jess at the Gatwick.
25:03Paul?
25:04Paul wants perfection and
25:06he's got a really good team
25:08of local guys and they work
25:10really well together.
25:12These guys are incredible.
25:12As soon as they walk out,
25:15because that's the shot,
25:16isn't it?
25:16Yeah.
25:16Let's make this, like,
25:17ridiculous.
25:19So the vision for this week,
25:20we have a seated lounge area
25:23with the incredible Trends
25:26fireplace.
25:27Behind that, we have two
25:28pools.
25:29We have a pool cabana.
25:32Behind that, we have a dream
25:34court, pickleball court.
25:35The backyard is an entertainer
25:38and family dream.
25:40Like, the kids will be running
25:41around on the grass, play
25:44pickleball, jump in the pool.
25:46It's amazing.
25:51As part of Backyards this
25:52week, each team will also
25:54present a pool cabana that's
25:56already been printed by
25:57Contour 3D.
26:00Each cabana includes a powder
26:01room with space for a toilet
26:03and sink and can be styled
26:05however teams choose.
26:06Oh, yeah, we're going to do a
26:07cabana this week.
26:08What should we do?
26:09In Adelaide, a cabana is a
26:11meat stick.
26:14And for those who know Matt...
26:16No.
26:17Our issue is this room here,
26:18we've got to get that
26:19sorted, so that's going to be
26:20Matt and I, or my biggest
26:21focus this week.
26:22Matt will probably be in the
26:22garden with you.
26:23Yeah.
26:24I just grabbed the pool cabana
26:26and was like, I'll take
26:27charge of this.
26:28It's a very awkward room,
26:30so we're just trying to work
26:31out how we can get at least
26:34a three-person sauna in here.
26:35I think it'll be the icing on
26:37the cake for the whole house.
26:38If he can secure the sauna,
26:40Robbie's plan is to include
26:42it on the left-hand side of
26:43the cabana with a bench seat
26:45in the middle and separate
26:46powder room on the right.
26:49I just spoke to the
26:50electricians and they said,
26:52yeah, we can get some power
26:53to a sauna.
26:54The only other person I have
26:55to get approval from is Matt
26:56because he won't pull the
27:00trigger on anything risky.
27:01So Matt's the head of finance,
27:06the keeper of funds, and I
27:09have to run everything past
27:09Matt because I have an idea,
27:13spending habit, which was taken
27:15off me after a couple of weeks.
27:17And Matt's been in charge of
27:18budget ever since.
27:20Oh, hello.
27:20Oh, hello.
27:21I just want to speak to you
27:23about the cabana.
27:27Yeah.
27:28I've spoken to the sauna people.
27:31Best price they can do is $3,000.
27:34Yeah.
27:34I think hold off on saying yes
27:37just now until we work out
27:39how much we can actually afford.
27:43We had to rein it in this week
27:45because after we paid all of
27:47our invoices for the wine cellar,
27:50we don't have as much to put
27:51into the backyard.
27:54Well, what's the other option
27:55if we don't do a sauna?
27:56A furniture or cabinetry
27:58or something like that.
28:02It's wellness.
28:02Yeah, it's wellness.
28:03You need a sauna.
28:04You've also got to pay for the sauna.
28:07That's the thing.
28:08That's your problem.
28:08See, that's...
28:09I think we do it
28:12because if we keep delaying it,
28:13we're just going to run out of ideas
28:14and it's just going to be
28:15a lounge area.
28:17All right, cool.
28:17Well, let's do it.
28:19Cool.
28:22A lot of our saying
28:24is like,
28:25oh, that's future Robbie
28:26and Matt's problem.
28:27No, that's how you operate, mate.
28:29He didn't want to do the cellar.
28:30Now it's always like,
28:31oh, that's the best idea
28:31in the world.
28:35Head in the clouds,
28:36feet on the ground.
28:39Just like the cellar idea.
28:41See what the result is this week.
28:42Let's see.
28:43This is the landscape team, boys.
28:48This is Adrian.
28:49Tyler.
28:50Hiya.
28:50How you doing, right?
28:52Yeah, sweet.
28:53Our landscape has arrived Sunday
28:54from Queensland
28:55and started Monday.
28:56We had poured a little bit
28:58of the concrete for it.
28:58Concrete, yeah.
28:59Other than that,
29:00we'd done no landscaping.
29:01Yeah.
29:01So, yeah, we have a lot to do.
29:05House 4's landscaper, Dylan,
29:06has some previous experience
29:08on the block.
29:09He's the brother
29:10of ex-contestant Josh
29:11and was on site
29:13helping him and Elise
29:14back in Elstonwick.
29:16Dylan from Jadebilt.
29:17He has organised
29:19all our trees,
29:19all the soil.
29:20Dylan knows his stuff.
29:21Yeah.
29:22As well as their landscaper,
29:23Dylan,
29:24Sonny and Alicia
29:25also work with
29:26landscape designer
29:27Paul Pritchard
29:28to come up with a plan
29:29for their backyard.
29:31We step off
29:32the back of our alfresco.
29:34We have a hard paved path
29:36all the way down
29:37to the pool.
29:37On the right-hand side,
29:38we have an open-air harbour.
29:40Straight ahead,
29:40you'll have the pool.
29:41Down over to the right
29:42on our lower section,
29:43we have a veggie garden.
29:45Then off to the left,
29:46have a bocce court,
29:47the pool house,
29:48fire pit,
29:48and then big grass area
29:49at the back.
29:51So what element of that
29:52is going to set your backyard
29:53apart from the rest?
29:54I think the openness of ours.
29:57I don't like the idea
29:58of filling the entire space
30:00just because you have it
30:01doesn't mean that
30:02there has to be
30:03something going on
30:04in every nook and cranny.
30:06We'll start swinging around.
30:07Yep.
30:07Yep.
30:07There it goes.
30:11We know the task at hand.
30:12This week's going to be busy.
30:14The aim today is to do
30:15as many pavers down
30:15as we can possibly.
30:17We're slow to start,
30:18but hopefully quick to finish.
30:20being outside,
30:29it's a whole new playing field
30:30and just the scale
30:32of this week's room reveal
30:33is ginormous.
30:35The plan is,
30:37we've got to do this whole backyard.
30:39This week,
30:40we've got a pretty incredible design
30:42that's been created
30:43by our landscaper, Colin.
30:44Colin draws on his artistic background
30:48to create his landscape designs
30:50and he's never been on the block before.
30:53There's so many trees, Colin.
30:57And this is the little drum.
30:58We're replanting Daleford.
31:00As you are standing on the alfresco,
31:04you will look down
31:05and there'll be some little steps on the right
31:08with some bigger landing steps on the left there.
31:10In the middle of the landing steps,
31:11we're going to have a massive planter
31:13with a beautiful tree in the middle of it.
31:15So then when you step off the steps,
31:17you'll go straight onto pavers.
31:19The pavers will follow down
31:21onto the pool area
31:23where you'll find the pool cabana,
31:25fire pit to the right of that
31:27with veggie gardens around there.
31:29This backyard's point of difference
31:31will probably be the tree selection.
31:33Yeah.
31:34Plant selection's like 90% natives.
31:36We're going to have a lot of trees as well.
31:38Yeah.
31:38Our landscaper prides himself
31:40on selecting trees that suit the area.
31:43You really do want to be looking out
31:44over your garden
31:45that seamlessly blends into the hills behind.
31:49Yeah.
31:50And the other thing,
31:51with our house being so elevated,
31:53I definitely think that
31:55that's a real advantage for us.
31:57It's our main point of difference.
31:58Yeah.
31:58And it's our main point of difference
31:59to show this week in particular.
32:01Yeah.
32:03Em and Ben are hoping to make
32:04the most of this point of difference
32:06by building a wine cellar
32:07underneath the right wing of their house.
32:11But with the way the space is looking at the moment,
32:13they've got a lot of work ahead of them
32:15in order to pull it off by Sunday.
32:17The cellar is currently a concrete slab.
32:22Yeah, it's just the footings.
32:25Nothing that we can even give dimensions for
32:27to start doing some, you know,
32:29cabinetry takeoffs or designs.
32:32Yeah.
32:32Furniture or anything.
32:33Yeah.
32:35Yeah, we won't be able to deliver the cellar
32:36to the level of the boys.
32:37Yes, we will.
32:38I want to finish the cellar
32:40to the same standards as the boys.
32:42As in joinery and things like that.
32:43Yeah.
32:44The boys delivered such an incredible cellar
32:46and at the moment I'm looking around at our cellar
32:48and it looks like a mess.
32:51But they started building their cellar week one.
32:54They did.
32:56So I've just got to get on the phone
32:58and try and find some more carpenters, I reckon.
33:00You need labour.
33:01Find some more help, yeah.
33:02You got the cash, you just need labour.
33:03Yeah.
33:04It just seems a little bit unachievable at the moment.
33:07I just don't know how we're going to pull it off.
33:09It's the first day of Backyard and Pool Week
33:21and the block site is buzzing
33:23with more than 100 tradies
33:25working across all five houses.
33:32And over in House 2,
33:33after an emotional morning for Han,
33:35Can is bringing the positivity.
33:39I'm feeling excited to have some fun with my number one.
33:48And, yeah, it's landscape week.
33:50Huge week ahead of us.
33:52Massive two weeks.
33:53We're going to polish off this.
33:54We're going to come home strong.
33:55We're going to make the most idyllic,
33:57beautiful Japanese Zen garden.
33:59I can see some rocks.
34:00I can see some dirt.
34:01And I'm liking what I'm seeing.
34:02So, before we even came to the block,
34:06we decided we were going to do
34:07a Japanese-inspired garden with Christian Jenkins,
34:10who's an absolute legend
34:11at doing Japanese Zen gardens.
34:14That's the vibe we're going for.
34:16Christian has been on the block twice before.
34:19He was Omar and Oz's landscaper back in Gisborne.
34:22And he designed Mitch and Mark's winning front yard in Hampton.
34:25But, despite his experience,
34:29he's a little worried about the task ahead.
34:32Landscape this whole backyard in one week.
34:34Now, I'm just really nervous.
34:40I feel it's nearly unrealistic
34:43to think that you could landscape this whole backyard in a week.
34:47Anyway, keep calm and drink tea.
34:54Keep calm and drink tea.
34:57House 2's Japanese-inspired backyard
35:00includes sandstone paving
35:02to connect their custom-built fireplace,
35:04pool area and pool cabana.
35:06They'll have grass around the perimeter
35:08and several large rocks scattered throughout.
35:12And to finish the space,
35:14they're going to build custom wooden arbors
35:16inspired by traditional Japanese torii gates.
35:20So, torii gates are used in Japan
35:23as an entry to a sacred place
35:26or a spiritual place.
35:27They're used to separate zones as well.
35:31So, we intend to use them in our garden
35:34to separate out different zones and entryways.
35:39Of course, the girls are so low on budget,
35:41they're planning to make the torii gates themselves
35:44from timber available in my sawmill.
35:48They've also had to pull back on some other plans.
35:50They're no longer able to have a water feature
35:52and they'll be the only team without a sauna.
35:55Not having budget, it's hard.
35:57We all know I'm a perfectionist,
35:59so it's been really hard for me
36:01except that we can't have the champagne on the beer budget.
36:05I think, yeah, we're quite disappointed
36:09with the fact that we haven't been able to give Christian
36:12a bit more money to be more creative.
36:15Anyway, it is what it is.
36:17Sometimes miracles happen on a tight budget.
36:19More money, more problems.
36:21As we reach the end of the competition,
36:26Han and Kan aren't the only ones with money problems.
36:29Most of our teams are running very low on block pucks
36:32and with a backyard pool area
36:34and pool cabana to style this week,
36:36last night I had a surprise for everyone.
36:39Freedom Furniture have decided to give all of you
36:43$10,000 to spend in store for your backyard.
36:46I absolutely love freedom,
36:52so when Scotty announced last night
36:54that we were getting an extra $10,000,
36:55I was wasting no time.
36:57Do you want this?
37:02I had seen some pool furniture
37:04that I would absolutely love.
37:09Do you need it?
37:10I think I would need two of them.
37:12Two.
37:12Perfect.
37:13I got two sun lounges.
37:16I got a large umbrella,
37:17a couple of side tables.
37:19I got some lanterns.
37:21Basically everything that was left in freedom
37:23that I hadn't bought in previous weeks.
37:26Are you gonna, are you gonna,
37:28are you gonna buy it?
37:33Yeah, you've done well.
37:34Thank you so much.
37:36Didn't take me long to spend my money at all.
37:38I've still got some, actually.
37:40Keeping it in the, uh,
37:41keeping it in my back pocket just in case.
37:44And how's lunch going for you?
37:46I'm, I'm absolutely starving,
37:47so it's great.
37:50Love Jats.
37:50Who doesn't love Jats?
37:59Back at the block,
38:00Alicia's tradies are also breaking for lunch.
38:03I'm on smoke-o!
38:05So leave me alone!
38:06I'm on smoke-o!
38:07With so many hungry tradies on site today,
38:11Bunnings are keeping them fueled with a barbecue fundraiser
38:14for a local primary school.
38:17I'm so hungry.
38:18I'm on smoke-o!
38:30Oh, it's a treat!
38:31How sick is that?
38:35Wow!
38:36In house one with their first tree now planted,
38:39Emma and Ben are meeting with Freedom stylist Serena
38:41to discuss furniture options for this week's spaces.
38:44Yes, like that.
38:45I popped together a couple of mood boards
38:50that we can kind of use as inspirations.
38:52I had a consult with Freedom and I went crazy.
38:55I picked some, uh, some sun lounges,
38:58a beautiful bar,
38:59I picked some chairs to go in the backyard
39:01and I set a few styling options as well.
39:05Two, do you reckon two sun lounges?
39:07Two sun lounges.
39:08But after my meeting with Serena,
39:11I could see that the concrete
39:12was all getting set up ready to be poured
39:14and it was...
39:15It just looked like a lot of concrete.
39:17So I mentioned it to Ben really quickly.
39:19It's all just going to be paving,
39:21that whole thing.
39:22What are we going to put on it?
39:26A bit late now.
39:29House one's current landscaping plans
39:31include a large area of pavers
39:33that will flow down from the deck to the pool.
39:35The boys had just spent all morning
39:39forming all this area up.
39:41The truck was, like, on its way,
39:42ready to pour all the concrete,
39:43but it was killing me.
39:44I was like, there's too much concrete here.
39:46Yeah.
39:46It looks like a skate park.
39:48I know we're pressed for time.
39:49Can we potentially just put a little patch
39:51of not concrete in there?
39:55So Em suggested putting just, like,
39:57a big circle in the middle of it
39:58to soften it with a bit of grass,
40:01a bit of greenery.
40:01If we're going to do it,
40:02we need to do it now.
40:04It just needs a big circle there.
40:05Just somewhere there.
40:07Everybody jumped on it
40:08and marked it out,
40:09cut it all out.
40:10I'm really sorry.
40:11I know you're cutting it for time.
40:16I think it'll look better.
40:18Yeah.
40:18Thank you, everyone.
40:19Love, everyone.
40:20Love, everyone.
40:20It's Monday afternoon of Backyard and Pool Week
40:40and concrete has been poured,
40:42paving is going down
40:43and fridges are being stopped.
40:47And over at House 4,
40:49Alicia is escaping the chaos.
40:52What are you doing in there, Alicia?
40:53You've been shopping online, are we?
40:55Yes, I'm block shopping.
40:57I need a couch
40:58and some furniture for outdoor.
41:00Sunny and Alicia are yet to win a room.
41:03However, last night,
41:04they did score a perfect 10 from Darren.
41:08Love Darren.
41:10Which means they get a 10 grand cash injection
41:12to their budget.
41:15We've never seen the big bickies before.
41:17This is new to us
41:18and to be personally delivered our big bickies,
41:20that was pretty cool.
41:20Look at those bickies.
41:23Big bickies.
41:24That's cash.
41:25Wow.
41:27Thank you, Arnett.
41:29Let's start for a moment
41:30about the lack of a win.
41:31Is it hurting
41:32or is it just something you're rolling with?
41:34We want to win.
41:35Yeah.
41:36We would love a win,
41:37but at this point in the game,
41:40we just...
41:40If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen.
41:41There's no point setting your heart on it.
41:42Nope.
41:43Yeah.
41:44This week is your week.
41:45You're trying my hardest.
41:46Come on.
41:47Trying my hardest.
41:47All right, see you.
41:48See you, mate.
41:49Thanks, Scotty.
41:50Has anyone gone through the block
41:53and not won a win?
41:55Yep.
42:00Season 21.
42:02Sunny and Alicia.
42:05We're losers.
42:06We're big, fat losers.
42:10It's landscape week.
42:11We've got lots to do.
42:13So, my best mate from Adelaide, Jordan.
42:18Second best mate.
42:20He's an excavator.
42:22He owns premium excavations in Adelaide,
42:24and we have a lot of soil to move.
42:27So, we called him up and brought in the big dog.
42:29Oh!
42:30Get in.
42:31G'day, mate.
42:33How you going?
42:34Oh!
42:34Oh!
42:34I can't breathe.
42:37Oh!
42:37He's a laugh.
42:39He's another version to us.
42:40We're pretty much like a tripod.
42:44We're going to do some work.
42:45Do some digging.
42:46You are, though.
42:46Yeah, absolutely.
42:47That's what I'm here for.
42:48It was just that sense of home and relief and, um, you know, another face, a familiar face
42:54that we could use.
42:55And he is a machine on the machine.
42:58Yeah.
42:58You need to move some dirt.
42:59Very good.
43:00Dirt.
43:00Dirt daddy.
43:01Well, I've got to get him into induction at one o'clock, but then once he's done, he's
43:04all yours.
43:05Unreal.
43:05Loving it, man.
43:06Yeah.
43:10Of course, it's the beginning of Backyard Week.
43:12The facades of the houses are now starting to take shape.
43:23This series of the block, we've got three houses where we've included James Hardy cladding.
43:28You know, the sort of suite of products allowed us to create individual looks.
43:34What I've got in the background behind me, we've got the matrix board in the darker colour,
43:40and then we've got the linear weather board.
43:43House five is Boredom Batten.
43:45Now, it's the fourth time we've done Boredom Batten.
43:49There are so many benefits and reasons why we've done it.
43:52You know, it's about the longevity of the house.
43:55It plays into our sustainability and resilience theme for this year.
43:59Stefan John won the series of the block with a similar look.
44:04Fireproof, wetterproof, termiteproof, and it's going to last a million years.
44:10House four, we've used the stereo cladding.
44:13Like, it really sets off the whole sort of box modern style, which is what this house is.
44:19Yes, can't wait to see this done.
44:20We're so excited that we ended up with this house compared to others because I think it stands out on the block.
44:25So, talk to me about the rocks.
44:37Oh, the old rock saga.
44:39So, house two, the landscaper, asked us to store their rocks for them, and we said, no worries.
44:51They just need to be gone by the end of today.
44:55That was last Thursday.
44:57That was last Thursday.
44:58It's now...
44:59Monday.
45:00And now the fences are up.
45:07Last week, the fences by modular walls started going up, which means teams no longer have easy access between each other's backyards.
45:16You know how I got those rocks delivered next door?
45:19Yeah.
45:20And I still had a few to get around here?
45:23Yeah, you still had, like, four or five.
45:24You used them in the garden.
45:26I've just seen them then.
45:27They're just...they're boxed up on the other side right in the concrete.
45:30I just think that's unbelievably devilish.
45:33When the rocks were there laying next to each other, you couldn't really tell which was which.
45:38When the digger operator moved ours, I think he's picked up a couple of Christians and put them in our garden.
45:46Actually, I reckon it's really cheeky.
45:48And I think there was two big ones of mine that went in there, two flat ones.
45:50No, no, there's not.
45:51No, no.
45:51I haven't got none of your rocks.
45:53I've got natural field granite.
45:54Yours are blue...
45:56They're mine at Hillview.
45:57Yeah.
45:57I've got no Hillview.
45:59I would never contaminate my rocks.
46:00I'd only heard that Christian was quite the sole...namaste guy.
46:09He wasn't very namaste about his rocks.
46:13There's some in the landscape that you've used.
46:15I think there's four in the landscape.
46:17It's just so f***ing cheeky.
46:18That's okay.
46:19Regardless, they're not getting shifted now because you can't get them out because you
46:22can't take an escalator over all the Rio.
46:26Our point of difference to the landscape is these rocks.
46:29Okay.
46:29And now they're in your landscape.
46:31I was like, bro, they all look the same to me.
46:34A rock's a rock.
46:35Well, the thing is, we were lovely enough to be able to store your rocks for you guys.
46:40Yeah.
46:40And for longer than the day, the deal was we would have the rocks there till the end
46:44of that day.
46:45Yeah, that's right.
46:45And they're actually still there.
46:47Yeah.
46:47So I think if anything, we've been doing you guys a favour.
46:51Does that entitle you to use the rocks?
46:53Or someone just had to grab you?
46:54It's on our land.
46:54That's okay.
46:55We just agree to disagree and we get on with it.
46:57It wasn't like, we're stealing these rocks.
47:00No.
47:00It was just like, oh, rocks are there.
47:01They were next to the rocks of ours that looked exactly the same.
47:05As I was saying, our point of difference are those rocks.
47:07Yeah.
47:08And those rocks are now in your garden.
47:12Yeah.
47:12Finders keepers.
47:13Yeah.
47:14Losers weepers.
47:15Tough titties.
47:16Ha ha ha.
47:19Ah!
47:20Ah!
47:24Monday's MG getaway, we went to the lake house at Dalesford.
47:37Oh!
47:38Wow!
47:40This is amazing.
47:44Luxury!
47:45Luxury!
47:48Wow.
47:49This is stunning.
47:50Look at this view.
47:54That place is absolutely insane.
47:56Cheers, mate.
47:58Cheers.
47:59Cheers to the celebration.
48:01Celebrating the cellar.
48:03And three tens.
48:04And three tens, obviously, yes.
48:05Off to dinner, so we were lucky enough to sit in the library area with Scotty.
48:11Just because you've got three tens, we've got beluga caviar donuts.
48:15Oh, nothing starts tonight like a beluga caviar donut.
48:19Oh, you don't get that every day.
48:20Oh!
48:21That's because you've got a 30 out of 30.
48:23And then a special guest arrived.
48:27Ha ha ha!
48:28Hey, guys.
48:29How are you?
48:29How are you?
48:30In comes Dave Franklin.
48:32Yeah!
48:36Award-winning landscaper Dave Franklin first appeared on the block in 2012.
48:42Over the years, he's worked with several teams to produce some amazing landscaping.
48:46And his designs have taken out the win five times.
48:49Come on!
48:50Meet the new boss!
48:52In recent years, he's come on board as a judge.
48:55And on Sunday, he'll be scoring the team's backyards.
49:00I hear you had a big win last night, so I've got a surprise for you guys.
49:03We had a great week.
49:03Oh!
49:04Oh.
49:04Do you want to do the honours?
49:05And there it is.
49:06$10,000 thanks to MG.
49:09Wow!
49:09We can talk about what you've got to do with this $10,000 on your garden.
49:13Show me the plans.
49:15We're pretty lucky.
49:15We're sitting down with Scotty and Dave Franklin going over our landscaping plans for this week.
49:20So that's a huge advantage.
49:22I do love the fireplace.
49:23I think it's, you know, something that's out of this world.
49:26It's how to make that work with the pool, the pickleball court and everything like that.
49:30He gave us lots of advice on plants and layout as well as we need to put in some mature trees.
49:38I would be trying to get something that looks like it's been here for 10 years.
49:42Okay.
49:42You know, something that tells a story.
49:43Plus block your neighbours out.
49:45Okay, so don't be scared of buying something at four or five metres tall.
49:48When you have someone like Dave with his years of expertise and knowledge giving us a bit of a clearer direction, that really helped.
49:56Oh, you asked me to drop this off.
49:57I did ask you to do that.
49:59It's a first for the lake house.
50:00A toolbox with big biggies on it.
50:02Because the boys scored three 10s last night with a perfect score, 30 out of 30, they also get a massive cash injection to their budget thanks to honours.
50:14Three lots of 10.
50:1730 grand.
50:19And there's another 10.
50:20Hey, there it is.
50:22Let me just see if there's no secret gnomes or anything in here.
50:24No, there's no gnomes, mate.
50:26Cheers, mate.
50:26Congratulations, boys.
50:27Cheers to you.
50:29Well done, guys.
50:29Thanks, mate.
50:30Welcome, Dave.
50:31Good on you, bro.
50:31Thank you, Dave.
50:32Cheers, mate.
50:32We're ordering Macca's for Chump's Dinner.
50:43Oh, Maccy D's.
50:45I'm thinking, like, 10 Big Macs, 10 large fries.
50:50How many Chump's Dinners have you guys attended?
50:52How many weeks have we been here?
50:53We are yet to miss a Chump's Dinner.
50:55I think we are basically the king and queen of Chump's.
50:58Chump and Chumpette.
51:00Dinner is...
51:01Thanks, guys.
51:02Thanks, guys.
51:02Thanks, sir.
51:03Maccy D's.
51:04Yeah, it's a big day on Mondays.
51:06You know, you've got your walk-arounds and then, you know, some head builder might come
51:10and yell at you.
51:11It's not a wine cellar.
51:12If you make it more of a wine cellar and not a bar, then the building surveyor will go,
51:18okay, cool, that's a wine cellar.
51:20Did everyone get approval today from surveyor?
51:22Because the surveyor was coming around today, remember?
51:24Like, to make sure the sheds were above board.
51:27The question was asked about if everyone was compliant, and we just sort of stayed silent.
51:30As the weeks grow on, your battery is more drained, you are more fatigued.
51:37For us, right, if people are constantly coming at us, it does feel personal, so we're just
51:42sort of pulling back a little bit to protect our own space and try and enjoy these last
51:46few weeks.
51:46And it seems Britt and Taz aren't the only ones who are choosing to be tight-lipped with
51:53their neighbours tonight.
51:54There was some chatter around secret gnomes.
51:58Yes.
51:59There's definitely a secret gnomes.
52:01You reckon?
52:02How long have you had the gnomes?
52:04We've had the gnomes since Domaine, so Domaine was like week eight.
52:08So we want a secret gnomes.
52:11So there's a bonus point.
52:15We don't have it.
52:16The boys could have it, though.
52:18The boys could have it.
52:19I want the gnome.
52:21We're doing a very good job at playing along and pretending that we don't know even what
52:26a secret gnome is.
52:28A secret gnome's different.
52:29You have to say, hey, Scotty.
52:31We want to play our secret gnome, and everyone's like, what?
52:34Oh, really?
52:34Yep.
52:35So we're definitely going to use the gnome on Sunday?
52:37Because we can't use the gnome next week.
52:39The gnome is deleted after this week, so we have to play it.
52:44Everyone feeling good for tomorrow?
52:45I'm excited for more obstacles to overcome tomorrow, and yeah, like, let's see what goes
52:52wrong.
52:53Yeah, I just can't wait for that.
52:54Who's ripping up their concrete tomorrow?
52:56Yeah.
52:59Tomorrow night, the question is answered.
53:02It's about 10mm over 100mm.
53:03This may have to be ripped up.
53:05Oh, it looks like we're going to have to lose all this paving.
53:07Pulling up the slab of concrete was the last thing that we wanted to do.
53:10Oh, my God.
53:12Are you serious?
53:14Devastating.
53:18Iceberg!
53:18Dead ahead!
53:20Also, the backyards continue to take shape.
53:24It's the biggest wood on the block, my arbor.
53:27Now, that's an arbor.
53:28That's huge.
53:29Art Han and Ken struggle to get on the same page.
53:35Candice has just snubbed the Kibana.
53:37I'm not doing what everyone else is doing.
53:39And where does that get us?
53:40The bottom of the leaderboard.
53:42The Kibana is a Kibana.
53:43And that is all it shall be.
53:45Oh, my God, Candice, you're driving me absolutely bonkers.
53:46Please stop.
