00:00It's always sad, always sad to lose colleagues or friends to other political parties, but that's their choice.
00:06What the Tory party's got to do now is to change.
00:09We suffered our worst ever election defeat just over a year ago,
00:13and the reason for that was that we ultimately didn't deliver for the British public when we were in office.
00:19On some of the big issues facing our country, like immigration, like the economy, the party just didn't do enough.
00:25What I want to see us do is listen to the public, learn the lessons from the past and change.
00:32Change the party so that we can begin over time to regain the trust and the confidence of the British public.
00:39And that is what you've seen here in Birmingham, in Manchester rather,
00:43where we are bringing forward policies on how we can get the economy going, make people feel better off,
00:49how we can secure our borders, bring migration right down.
00:52And in my area of shadow justice, how we can tackle activist judges who are bringing the judiciary into disrepute, frankly,
00:59and restore public trust and confidence in our legal system.
