00:06I don't think they're fair.
00:08I think Josh Allen is so physically gifted,
00:11and he's become such a good quarterback that I don't think if you're saying
00:15this guy is the next Allen, I don't think that's fair.
00:20I do think looking at how they started their careers, though,
00:23is instructive in some ways.
00:26It doesn't mean that May will eventually ultimately end up where Allen is now,
00:31and Allen's game has changed even over the course of the last 12 months, guys.
00:36He's not throwing as deep as he did last year.
00:39He's making fewer mistakes.
00:41He's on pace for a career low in interceptions and turnover-worthy plays.
00:44He's become maybe a little bit more conservative,
00:47but you still have these incredible explosive plays because he is that talented.
00:51So very few guys get to where Allen is right now.
00:56But I think their paths can be similar in that May was viewed as really raw,
01:00although maybe slightly less raw than Allen was coming out,
01:03but that was the wrap on Allen as well.

01:05And he's cleaned it up, though,
01:07and he's cleaned it up even more quickly than Allen did.
01:10It was year three when Allen really became the guy there.
01:13By the end of his second year, he was still statistically one of the worst
01:18quarterbacks in football.
01:19It was day ball.
01:20It took day ball to get him.
01:21Yeah.
01:2126, 27, 25, and, you know, just about every important statistical measure.
01:27He was terrible early.
01:29Like, May has never been called terrible.
01:31No.
01:31You know, like, there was a stretch where, like, oh, this guy's a bust.
01:34I remember calling games against him.
01:35He was awful laughing at it.
01:38And maybe that's because...
01:38McCourty was, like, picking him off left and right.
01:40You think May was maybe a little bit more polished?
01:43Yeah.
01:43As raw as May was, I think he was even a little bit more polished than Allen was.
01:46So, I'm not projecting that out and saying, well, then he'll end up better than Allen is.
01:51I think he's going to be sort of more in the middle on this spectrum of where Allen started
01:57and where Allen is right now.
