Nearly a hundred suspected illegal foreign workers have been detained following raids at a night market and bazaar in Kajang.
Immigration Department director-general Datuk Zakaria Shaaban, in a statement on Monday (Oct 6), said that the operation was conducted on Sunday after a week-long surveillance into foreigners who have overstayed.

00:18In the operation, 884 individuals were inspected, resulting in the detention of 97 foreigners, comprising 72 men and 25 women.
00:31The initial investigation found that some of the foreigners were believed to be operating businesses without valid permits, in addition to overstaying their visas and misusing temporary work visit passes.
00:43The suspects, who are aged 18 to 62 years old, have been taken to the Beranang and KLIA depots for further action.
