At least seven patients died after a fire broke out in the ICU of Jaipur’s state-run Sawai Man Singh Hospital. The blaze, suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, erupted on the trauma centre’s second floor on Sunday night. Families alleged that hospital staff fled as smoke spread rapidly, destroying equipment, documents, and medical supplies.

00:00:02Six patients dead in Jaipur Hospital fire.
00:00:05Six patients in neuro-ICU die in Jaipur fire.
00:00:09That's the breaking news that's coming in.
00:00:11Short circuit believed to be the reason behind the fire at Jaipur Hospital.
00:00:16Thick smoke caused panic in the hospital and ICU equipment.
00:00:21Blood samples gutted in fire.
00:00:23Six critical patients were killed in a fire at the trauma center of the state-run Savai Man Singh.
00:00:29Hospital in Jaipur late Sunday night.
00:00:32This is as per the officials.
00:00:34And that's the breaking news that we're getting.
00:00:37Short circuit is believed to be the reason behind the fire in which unfortunately six patients have died.
00:00:42Thick smoke caused panic in the hospital.
00:00:45And in fact, we're also learning that the ICU equipments and the blood samples have been gutted in the fire.
00:00:54And my colleague Devankur is now joining us with more details on this.
00:00:58Devankur, give us more details what exactly unfolded at the Jaipur Hospital.
00:01:01Around 11.30 in the night on Sunday, the unfortunate series of events unfolded in the Swai Man Singh Hospital.
00:01:13I'm right now on the second floor of the hospital and you can see the ICU which has been sealed by the authorities out here.
00:01:20Perhaps it's an effort by the hospital authorities to try to ensure that no one is able to go inside on the morning of Monday.
00:01:29Perhaps it's an attempt to hide what is the scenario inside.
00:01:33But we did go inside Anjali on Sunday on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday around 2 o'clock.
00:01:40And the telltale signs out here clearly pointed towards serious lapses.
00:01:45In fact, several of the relatives that we spoke to have told us that the hospital authorities were not even aware of the magnitude of the fire that had engulfed the area, the ICU.
00:01:56I do have some of the relatives of the patients who were admitted inside the hospital.
00:02:01How did you know?
00:02:03Anjali was in it?
00:02:03I was 12 years old.
00:02:05I was 25 years old.
00:02:05I was a good student.
00:02:06A nurse he was in it.
00:02:06A nurse.
00:02:07Anjali was in it.
00:02:09So how do we know that it's been known?
00:02:10How did you know that it's been named after 9 o'clock?
00:02:11We were separated by the hospital after 9 o'clock.
00:02:18About 5.5 o'clock after about 9 o'clock while the hospital had examined us.
00:02:22Do I know that the hospital was near the hospital?
00:02:22in fact the official figure so far is at seven
00:02:52anjali but several of the people that i've spoken to have mentioned that the death toll can go up but right now on the morning of monday perhaps it's an attempt to you know whitewash the entire uh scenario that prevailed out here on the intervening night of sunday and monday and that is why you see people the hospital staff working hard not to ensure that some amount of succor can be provided to the relatives of those patients who are no more but an attempt is going on right now to clean up the mess that was created in fact i can tell you that
00:03:22this is the fire extinguisher that was used to break the window panes out here so as to try to ensure that some of the patients could be brought out you can imagine the scenario uh the the smoke that was billowing out inside the intensive care unit of the biggest hospital not only of jaipur anjali but of the entire of entire rajasthan this is swai man singh hospital and those were the scenes prevailing
00:03:45inside uh well the relative of one of the patients is mentioning that this is empty
00:03:51well this argument clearly has broken out out here with the family members of the of the patient mentioning
00:04:13that uh there was no one from the hospital staff present inside the intensive care unit to try to
00:04:19save some of the lives which probably could have been saved had the hospital staff active in time but
00:04:25right now you can see on the morning of monday uh the uh the attempt right whitewash the entire floor but i
00:04:31can show you the beds out here you can see uh telltale signs of the smoke uh of of the bed engulfed in
00:04:38uh blacks uh fumes and the and the cloths that are the bed sheets that are kept out here are also
00:04:43uh completely lashed uh lashed with ace uh with with ash and uh out here there are several of the
00:04:51people relatives who have spoken to india today mentioned that for several hours they were not
00:04:56even told about the whereabouts of their uh family members and uh for several hours they kept running
00:05:04from pillar to coast to try to find out where their relatives are but it was only after three to
00:05:08four hours in some cases that they were told that their family members are no more i spoke with uh one
00:05:14of the ladies uh who mentioned that she has lost her son in fact three sons mentioned that their mother
00:05:21uh they do not know where their mother is and the hospital authorities are not even telling them
00:05:26uh what has happened to her whether she is even alive or not uh aap yaha par jab maujub te koi bhi
00:05:32uh the the the entire tragedy uh you know began uh uh anjali at around 11 30 in the night but
00:05:55even after two o'clock in the morning there were no authorities all right the patient's relatives
00:06:03whether their patients are even alive or not right thank you for getting us those details uh right
00:06:09from the hospital those are the visuals from the hospital uh where the icu caught fire six patients
00:06:14have unfortunately died glaring lapses clearly from the hospital's side uh the safety equipments
00:06:21were not even functional the cylinders are empty uh we'll get you more details on this but as of

00:13:30And we're now getting some more breaking news
00:13:42NDA MP's fact-finding team blames complete administrative failure
00:13:46for the Karoo Stampede tragedy
00:13:48Stampede broke out as Vijay climbed onto his bus to address the crowd
00:13:52Women and children were among those trampled
00:13:55as people fainted in the heat and congestion
00:13:58Vijay threw water bottles from atop his bus
00:14:01People mending to pick them up got crushed
00:14:04MPs visiting the hospital found 51 injured under treatment
00:14:08In fact, a heart-wrenching case has also come to the fore
00:14:11in which a father lost his two daughters
00:14:14aged 12 and 8 in this tragedy
00:14:17So that's the update that is coming in
00:14:19The NDA MP's fact-finding team have blamed
00:14:23complete administrative failure for the Karoo Stampede tragedy
00:14:27My colleague Pramod Madhav is now joining us with more details on this
00:14:30Pramod, the NDA MP's fact-finding team are now blaming
00:14:34that it was a complete administrative failure
00:14:37which eventually led to the tragedy that unfolded in Karoo
00:14:41Well, this is a fact-finding committee of eight MPs that had come from
00:14:45that was sent by NDA, like that was headed by Hema Malni
00:14:49and even on that particular day, they were actually raising kind of questions
00:14:52about why the narrow position was allowed
00:14:55and like a lot of administration fault
00:14:56this is how they tried to show it
00:14:58actually, in fact, the chief minister kind of responded to it
00:15:00claiming that why such a kind of fact-finding committee
00:15:02was not sent to Bujarat or Uttarakhand or Manipur in the first place
00:15:07but here immediately showing that this is nothing but a politically motivated fact-finding committee
00:15:12However, the NDA committee has now blamed the administration on this matter
00:15:15while an SIT and a one-man commission is investigating this unfortunate issue
00:15:20Alright, Pramod, thank you for getting us those details
00:15:24So, as far as the Karoo stampede is concerned
00:15:26that's the latest that's coming in
00:15:28The NDA MP's fact-finding team that visited the stampede site in Karoo
00:15:33have blamed complete administrative failure for the tragedy
00:15:38Remember, the stampede broke out as Vijay climbed onto his bus to address the crowd
00:15:42Women and children were among those who were trampled
00:15:46as people fainted in the heat and congestion
00:15:49Political war has been going on since then
00:15:51In fact, Vijay threw water bottles from atop his bus
00:15:55But people bending to pick the water bottles got crushed
00:15:59which led to several deaths
00:16:02Dozens of people died in this tragedy
00:16:04And we're now getting some more breaking news
00:16:15External Affairs Minister Jayashankar's big remark on US trade talks
00:16:19He said, and I quote, India's red lines have to be respected
00:16:23This is what External Affairs Minister Jayashankar has said on the trade deal with US
00:16:28That's the remark that is coming in
00:16:30Any trade deal between India and the US has to respect New Delhi's red lines
00:16:35And efforts are underway to reach an understanding
00:16:38This is the remark that External Affairs Minister Jayashankar made on Sunday
00:16:44against the backdrop of a downturn in bilateral ties over Washington's policy on the tariffs
00:16:49Remember, 50% tariffs have been imposed by the United States on India
00:16:54100% pharmaceutical tariffs have also been imposed
00:16:58And amid the tensions, External Affairs Minister Jayashankar has made this big remark
00:17:03on the trade talks with US that India's red lines have to be respected by Washington
00:17:09Any trade deal between India and the US has to respect New Delhi's red lines
00:17:14And efforts are underway to reach an understanding
00:17:17This is what External Affairs Minister Jayashankar said
00:17:20Against the backdrop of a downturn in the bilateral ties over Washington's policy on tariffs
00:17:26In fact, Jayashankar also acknowledged that there were issues between India and the US
00:17:33and many of them were linked to the inability to firm up the proposed trade deal
00:17:37even as he noted that there are things that one can negotiate and there are things that one can't
00:17:43The External Affairs Minister also said that both sides have not arrived at a landing ground on trade discussions
00:17:48and that an understanding was necessary as the US is the world's largest market
00:17:53But at the same time, he said that India's red lines should be respected
00:17:58So the biggest takeaway is that, as Jayashankar said, that amid the trade talks with US
00:18:04the red lines of New Delhi must be respected
00:18:07Though he also acknowledged that US is the world's largest market
00:18:12and that trade talks are necessary
00:18:14There should be an understanding between the two nations
00:18:16But at the same time, he also mentioned that India's red lines must be respected by Washington
00:18:24And India Today Global's Pranayupad is now joining us with more details on this Pranay
00:18:30External Affairs Minister Rajeshankar has made this scathing remark that amid the tensions between US and India
00:18:37over trade talks, he has made it clear that though US is the largest market
00:18:42but at the same time, New Delhi's red lines must be respected
00:18:45Definitely, you know, as a trading partner, as a strategic partner
00:18:51India made the red lines very clear while negotiating this bilateral trade agreement
00:18:55And external affairs minister Rajeshankar only reiterated those red lines
00:19:00That what are the red lines and why they must be respected
00:19:02Because these are the red lines which India drew
00:19:06Because of the paramount interest which you will recall, Anjali
00:19:10That Prime Minister Narendh Modi, while addressing Anjali, also mentioned these things
00:19:15That the interests of the farmers, be it in the dairy sector, be it in the farming sector
00:19:19Be it in the fisheries sector
00:19:21These are the red lines, you know, which are very important as far as the interests of Indian farmers
00:19:26Besides that there are some small and marginal enterprises
00:19:31Their interests are paramount
00:19:33Because a large number of people, those who are dependent for their livelihood in these sectors
00:19:40And that's why India made these things clear
00:19:42Because we know that, you know, around 95% of the deal was already done
00:19:47And these are the 5% areas where the deal is stuck
00:19:49And US want access
00:19:52We have heard many, you know, Scott Besson and, you know, Howard Lutnik
00:19:56And many other people from the Trump administration
00:20:00Recently, Howard Lutnik was the Commerce Secretary for the Trump administration
00:20:04He said that why India can't buy even a single bushel of corn from the United States
00:20:09While India's concern is that most of the US corn is genetically modified
00:20:16And we do not give access to any genetically modified crop
00:20:20Thank you so much for getting us those details
00:20:23And for that context on the tensions between India and US
00:20:26As far as the trade talks are concerned
00:20:28And at the top of this hour, we're getting some breaking news
00:20:35Rattled Pakistan wants India on future conflicts
00:20:38Two days after Indian Army Chief's warning to Pakistan
00:20:42Pakistan Defence Minister Asif warns India against any future military conflict
00:20:47Two days after Indian Army Chief warned Islamabad
00:20:50That it will be erased from the world map
00:20:52If it continues sponsoring terrorism
00:20:55Pakistan Defence Minister Khwaja Asif on Sunday
00:20:58Cautioned New Delhi against any future military conflict
00:21:01Saying India would be buried under the wreckage of its warplates
00:21:05Asif's response came days after India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh
00:21:09And Army Chief General Upendrad Redi
00:21:12Cautioned Pakistan against any misadventure
00:21:15So that's the latest that's coming in
00:21:17The rattled Pakistan has now warned India on future conflicts
00:21:21And this comes just two days after Indian Army Chief's warning to Islamabad
00:21:25India Today Global's Pranay Upadhi is now joining us with more details on this
00:21:31Pranay Pakistan has now warned India on future conflicts
00:21:35Saying that India will be buried under the wreckage of its warplates
00:21:39How do you see this remark and what could be the implications on the tensions between the two countries
00:21:45Anjali, if you see there has been a rhetorical and provocative statement
00:21:52By not only the Pakistan military establishment, Pakistan Army through ISPR
00:21:57But also the Pakistani Defence Minister
00:21:59In response to the statement or warnings issued by the military establishment of India
00:22:05And warning Pakistan to desist from sponsoring terrorism
00:22:09Because what Indian Army Chief General Upendrad Redi said was only to warn Pakistan to stop sponsoring terrorism
00:22:16Otherwise, if Pakistan want to exist on the world map
00:22:22So this was only a warning
00:22:23While on the other side, if you see the statement given by the Pakistani military establishment
00:22:27Of catastrophic consequences, disastrous consequences of any military conflict between India and Pakistan
00:22:36And besides that, the statement issued by the Pakistani Defence Minister as well
00:22:40Where he said that India would be buried under the wreckage of its warplates
00:22:45Definitely, these are the very provocative statements issued by the Pakistani Defence Establishment
00:22:49And this clearly shows that the onus is on Pakistan as far as the military conflict is concerned
00:22:59Because if you see the history of India-Pakistan conflict
00:23:02Every time the conflict has been started by Pakistan
00:23:07And if you see the result of these conflicts
00:23:10Be it 1948, be it 1965, be it 1971, 1999
00:23:15Or even the Operation Sindhu
00:23:17You know, India attained the resounding victory over Pakistan
00:23:23In every military conflict, Pakistan got defeated
00:23:25And that remained the reality
00:23:27And that's why I think the Pakistan military establishment was trying to convince their own people
00:23:33This is only for the domestic audience
00:23:35And playing for the public galleries
00:23:38But while on the other side
00:23:40We cannot take any warning
00:23:42Or we cannot take any statement by Pakistan Defence Minister
00:23:45Or Pakistan military very lightly
00:23:47And that's why Pakistan
00:23:48You know, that's why the Indian Defence Minister
00:23:51As well as the Army Chief General Upendivedi
00:23:54You know, told soldiers
00:23:56And the military establishment of India
00:23:58To remain prepared for any future conflict
00:24:00Because with a neighbour so irresponsible like Pakistan
00:24:03We have to remain prepared
00:24:05We cannot let our guards lower
00:24:08Absolutely, Pranay, do stay with us
00:24:10In fact, Indian Air Force Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh
00:24:15Has said that the 300km strike inside Pakistani territory
00:24:19Was the longest kill ever achieved by the Air Force
00:24:22Listen in
00:24:23This is
00:24:25This is
00:24:26This is
00:24:27This is
00:24:28Once
00:24:29Then
00:24:30The
00:24:31British
00:24:33This is
00:24:34What is
00:24:35This they
00:24:36Or
00:24:37Like
00:24:38They
00:24:39Or
00:24:40This is
00:24:41Some
00:24:42The
00:24:43More
00:24:44These
00:24:45These
00:24:46You
00:24:47The
00:24:48So for that, the state-sponsored terrorism that we say is that the country is sponsoring terrorism, we have to stop it.
00:25:18It was a very, very important part of the whole plan, and that came in along with all the three services, the Army, Navy, Air Force assets being merged together, the air defense assets, the counter UAV assets, and everything working under one combined control of IACCS.
00:25:43It worked out to be a game-changer, and under that, they were almost not allowed to any freedom to do anything.
00:25:55And our long-range SAMs, the long-range SAMs that we had procured recently and operationalized, that again turned the table on them.
00:26:06We could look deep inside their territory. We could make sure that they were not able to operate even within their territory, you know, up to a certain distance.
00:26:16And it will go down in the history, that longest kill that we achieved of more than 300 kilometers by that.
00:26:23And we're now getting some more breaking news.
00:26:32External Affairs Minister Esra Shankar's big remark on U.S. trade talks.
00:26:36Esra Shankar draws the line, says India's red lines must be respected in any U.S. trade deal.
00:26:42External Affairs Minister says that India will not compromise core interests for trade gains with Washington.
00:26:48Trump's 50% tariff hike on Indian goods triggers diplomatic strain between the two countries.
00:26:54India calls U.S. action on Russian oil imports as unfair and targeted.
00:26:59There are things you can negotiate and things you can't.
00:27:02This is what the external affairs minister Esra Shankar asserted.
00:27:06And Modi, Trump phone-called revive stocks for stalled India-U.S. trade deal.
00:27:11But the key takeaway is that Esra Shankar has made the strong remark, saying that India's red lines must be respected in any U.S. trade deal.
00:27:20Let's listen in.
00:27:25Yes, we have today issues with the United States.
00:27:29A big part of it is the fact that we have not arrived at a landing ground for our trade discussions.
00:27:38And the inability so far to reach there has led to a certain tariff being levied on India.
00:27:51In addition, there is a second tariff, which, you know, we have said, we publicly said, we regard it as very unfair,
00:27:59which has picked on us for sourcing energy from Russia.
00:28:03And, of course, there are other countries who have done so, including countries who right now have a far more antagonistic relationship with Russia than we do.
00:28:13So I don't want, you know, I'm not minimizing the issues, but I don't think we should take it to a point as though this is going to percolate to every dimension of the relationship.
00:28:26And there is something very fundamental at stake there.
00:28:29I think we need to see this in proportion.
00:28:32And India Today Global's Pranay Upadhyay continues to stay with us.
00:28:35Pranay, External Affairs Minister Israe Shankar admitted that, yes, there are trade tensions between the two countries,
00:28:40but he also made it clear that even as the trade talks continue with U.S.,
00:28:45the red lines of New Delhi must be respected by the Washington.
00:28:49Definitely, Anjali, the red lines must be respected because this is a bilateral trade negotiation.
00:28:56And in any bilateral trade negotiation, two parties are involved and it cannot be reached.
00:29:01Any consensus cannot be arrived at unless both parties agree to it.
00:29:06So, therefore, India's red lines need to be respected.
00:29:08But the recent statement by External Affairs Minister Dr. Jayashankar is very important in the light of his recent visit to United States.
00:29:16He recently visited United States and had a talk with his U.S. counterpart, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
00:29:24And also, after the recent phone call between Prime Minister Nareem Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump,
00:29:30after India and United States both revived the trade negotiations.
00:29:34But this is a reiteration of the fact that India want U.S. to respect the red lines drawn,
00:29:40you know, as far as India's economic concerns are there,
00:29:44as far as the security of livelihood in India,
00:29:47be it the farming sector, be it the MSME sector,
00:29:51these are the areas where many people are dependent on for their livelihood.
00:29:55And that's why India do red lines, be it the genetically modified crop,
00:29:58be it the dairy products, be it the, you know, the shrimp sector.
00:30:03These are the areas of India's, you know, economic interests.
00:30:07While on the other side, if you see the statement by External Affairs Minister Dr. Jayashankar,
00:30:13who was addressing a public conference,
00:30:16he said that, you know, if one aspect of the relationship is getting impacted due to this trade strain,
00:30:23that doesn't mean that every aspect of the bilateral relationship is getting impacted.
00:30:28And that's why we have seen that U.S. defense delegation visiting India,
00:30:33India and United States having, you know, intersessional 2 plus 2 dialogue,
00:30:37and various other aspects, Indian military, you know,
00:30:40during these trade tensions only, Indian military contingent visited Alaska
00:30:44and had a military exercise with the United States.
00:30:48So other aspects of India-United States relationship are continuing,
00:30:51while on the other side, as far as the trade is concerned, this impacts India.
00:30:55And Dr. Jayashankar, he reiterated the similar point where, you know,
00:31:03how this relationship is getting strained because of the 50% tariff.
00:31:08India remains committed to resolve this issue.
00:31:11But I expect the United States to respect, you know, the red lines drawn by India,
00:31:17and which is of importance for India's energy security,
00:31:22India's, you know, security of livelihoods for large number of populations
00:31:26who are dependent on these sectors.
00:31:30All right, Prane, thank you so much for all those details and for that context.
00:31:34So, External Affairs Minister S.J. Shankar's big message for the United States
00:31:38that New Delhi's red lines must be respected,
00:31:41even as the trade talks continue between the two countries.
00:31:47And our shifting focus, Katak remains on edge following violent clashes
00:31:52that erupted during a Durga idol immersion procession on Saturday.
00:31:56According to police, the trouble began after some locals objected
00:31:59to the high decibel music being played during the procession.
00:32:02This led to sudden escalation where stones and bottles were hurled
00:32:05from rooftops at the crowd.
00:32:07Several people were injured, multiple vehicles and stalls were also damaged
00:32:11in the chaos, after which cops resorted to a lathe charge to disperse the mob.
00:32:16The cops have also arrested some people after the violent clashes.
00:32:19Due to the tense violence conditions, the government has suspended the internet
00:32:23and cops have also held flag march to restore normalcy in the city.
00:32:28Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Manji has condemned the incident,
00:32:31stating that peace was disrupted by writers
00:32:34and vowed strict action against those responsible.
00:32:38Meanwhile, the opposition has launched a scathing attack
00:32:40on the BJP-led state government,
00:32:41accusing it of failing to maintain the law and order
00:32:44and also allowing communal harmony to deteriorate.
00:32:47VHP, meanwhile, has also announced a 12-hour banth,
00:32:50blaming administrative lapses for the breakdown in control.
00:32:54VHP, for example, the children of this college,
00:32:56because of that, they exist in the State of America,
00:32:57which they have onu, to maintain the distance.
00:32:58VHP, and to maintain the awareness,
00:32:59they have those who are the people who are the ones who are the ones who are the ones,
00:33:00and who are the ones who are the ones who are the ones who are the ones who do.
00:33:01and there are many people in the house,
00:33:04and there are many people who have a place.
00:33:07In that area, they are completely attached,
00:33:10and they are completely attached,
00:33:11and they are completely attached.
00:33:13Whatever is the culprit,
00:33:14whatever is the culprit,
00:33:16whatever is the culprit,
00:33:18whatever is the culprit,
00:33:20they should give them a little bit.
00:33:22So, the next time,
00:33:24we will not do anything in this way,
00:33:26we will not do anything in our mother's life.
00:33:28The people who have been arrested in this way, 6 people have been arrested, continuously with the touch of the police, CCTV footage, mobile videos, drone, cameras, etc.
00:33:47The people who are involved, who are trying to arrest us in our city, they will have identified, arrested and adulterers.
00:34:00In the case of the government, there is a lot of work that can be done with the law and order situation,
00:34:17or the government can be able to tackle the law and order situation,
00:34:22And my colleague Anupam Mishra is now joining us with more details on this.
00:34:39Anupam, how is the current ground situation in Katak? Is peace returning?
00:34:45Massive police has been deployed in the Katak city
00:34:49as VHP's 12-hour bond is ongoing.
00:34:53Right now, things are peaceful.
00:34:55Situation is peaceful after yesterday's unrest and violence.
00:35:00From today morning, it's all peaceful in Katak city.
00:35:04Although people are not moving outside as VHP has called bond,
00:35:11buses and other vehicles are not seen in the city.
00:35:16But the report of violence is not there from any part of the city
00:35:22and every part is covered with huge police deployment.
00:35:26So, we can say in Katak city from today itself,
00:35:31the peace is returning.
00:35:35Alright, Anupam, thank you for getting us those details.
00:35:38We'll keep coming back to you for more updates on this.

00:36:52My colleague Sagai Raj is now joining us with more details on this.
00:36:55Sagai, what action can we now expect against KJ George's aide
00:36:59who has been trapped by Loka Yukta with 50,000 bribe?
00:37:03Sir, he is already in the custody of Loka Yukta.

00:37:25And Loka Yukta will continue the investigation of the scene.

00:37:41and even the government will try to suspend him from his job
00:37:48once he's been, once the guilt is proven on his side.
00:37:53And the sleuth of Loka Yukta will continue the investigation
00:37:57and try to crack the network of this entire corruption charges.
00:38:03All right, Sagai, thank you for getting us all those details.
00:38:06Big Jaipur hospital fire tragedy.
00:38:08Big lapses emerge in the hospital fire in Jaipur.
00:38:12Patients can claim that the fire extinguishers were empty.
00:38:15Kinn also alleges ICU staff ran away during fire.
00:38:19Six patients dead in the Jaipur hospital fire.
00:38:23They were in neuro-ICU when they died in the Jaipur fire.
00:38:27Short circuit is the reason behind the fire in the hospital.
00:38:31Thick smoke caused panic in the hospital.
00:38:34And the ICU equipments and the blood samples were also gutted in this fire.
00:38:40So that's the latest that's coming in.
00:38:41Big Jaipur hospital fire tragedy.
00:38:43Big lapses have also emerged in this hospital fire.
00:38:47Now, the patient's skin have claimed that the fire extinguishers in the hospital were empty.
00:38:52They have also alleged that the ICU staff ran away after the ICU caught fire.
00:38:58And six patients have died in this Jaipur hospital fire.
00:39:02They were in the neuro-ICU when the fire occurred.
00:39:06And short circuit is the reason behind this fire in the hospital.
00:39:10So, you can see the tell-tale signs of the fire that engulfed this entire portion.
00:39:25And as per information with India today, it may have led to the death of multiple patients.
00:39:33That is the information that India today has that the fire that engulfed the ICU of Swai Mansingh hospital has resulted in the death of multiple patients.
00:39:44As per information, more than five patients have died because of the fire, even though the hospital authorities are not putting anything on record as far as the death toll is concerned.
00:39:57But unofficially, several of the sources have informed India today that the fire was so mammoth inside the intensive care unit where 11 patients were present when the fire broke out that several of the patients who were already in ICU who were already battling health conditions were not able to move out of the ICU.
00:40:19And this entire fire which engulfed the ICU has resulted as per information with India today in several deaths because of suffocation and even though efforts were made to move them out, unfortunately, this fire has resulted in several deaths of patients.
00:40:39And India today has possessed this information that even though attempts were made by several of the people who had arrived later on to move them out of this area, but clearly some of the patients could not survive the fire that engulfed.
00:40:57And allegedly the hospital authorities were unaware of the magnitude of the ICU which resulted in the death of several patients with camera person Manish Devankur Wadhaavan in Jaipur for India today.
00:41:11The trauma center of the second floor has two ICU. There is a trauma ICU and a semi ICU. There is a trauma ICU and a semi ICU. There are 24 patients with trauma ICU, 11 and 13 patients with trauma ICU.
00:41:19The trauma ICU has been short-circuit and the trauma ICU has been short-circuit.
00:41:23Due to the trauma ICU, there are toxic gases and all the toxic gases and all the toxic gases have spread.
00:41:27And there are more critical patients who are mostly comatose.
00:41:30The trauma center of the trauma center, our nursing officers, our ward boys, our trolley men, we have rescued them directly.
00:41:40And the patients who are able to get out of the ICU, we have taken them to the other place.
00:41:45There are 6 patients who have been sick.
00:41:48We have tried to get out of the CPR and survive.
00:41:53But we have not been able to survive.
00:41:55And my colleague Devankur is now joining us from the SMS hospital in Jaipur.
00:42:02Dev, glaring lapses are now emerging in this hospital fire as is being claimed by the patient's skin,
00:42:09that there were a lot of lapses in the hospital if we talk about the fire extinguishers which were empty.
00:42:14Give us more details on this.
00:42:16Well, Anjali, not only lapses, what the relatives are alleging is criminal negligence on the part of hospital authorities.
00:42:24Right outside the ward, the trauma ward of the Swai Maan Singh hospital inside which the intensive care unit is there.
00:42:31These relatives are right now sitting on Dharna.
00:42:33You can see all of these relatives of patients who are no longer there with them.
00:42:38They have lost their loved ones and are now sitting on Dharna.
00:42:41You are sitting on Dharna.
00:42:42Where are you from?
00:42:43Where are you from?
00:42:44My name is Shri Maadupur Shikrashi.
00:42:48My name is Shri Maadupur Shikrashi.
00:42:53My name is Shri Maadupur Shikrashi.
00:42:58My name is Shri Maadupur Shikrashi.
00:43:03So that is a big allegation that they're making.
00:43:32They're saying that this person is mentioning that when the chief minister had arrived, they were pushed out of the hospital.
00:43:39They were not even being told about the condition of their patient.
00:44:02I would want the camera person to show you that all of these people are who are right now on dharna.
00:44:14So what do you want? What do you think? What do you want to do?
00:44:17What do you want to do?
00:44:18The government will talk to us.
00:44:20And whatever patient's death is a person's death, it should be 50,000,000 rupees.
00:44:25What is your name?
00:44:26Well, you can see some of them are right now not in a mood to speak at all.
00:44:33You can understand their state of mind.
00:44:34They're inconsolable and they believe that it was the administrative laxity because of which they have lost their loved ones.
00:44:41Several of these people who are right now out here, they had come in with their relatives in the hope that they will get some succor, some relief,
00:44:49and their patients will be treated, but rather than being treated, they have lost their loved ones.
00:44:55You can see several of these people who have come out here, this one person has lost his mother.
00:45:19Tell me, sir, what happened to you when you were here, what happened to you, what happened to you?
00:45:26Sir, my name is Joginder Singh, I was on the top, I saw a short circuit, I saw two or three other people.
00:45:34So I said, sir, I saw a short circuit here, so I said, sir, it's a short circuit.
00:45:38So I said, yes, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay.
00:45:41It's not okay, I went back again.
00:45:43There was a girl who went back again, he said, sir, it's okay.
00:45:46When you came out here, you cannot recall there, but there was a prescription.
00:45:50Otherwise, you get down.
00:45:52But, I suffered from something clearly, and it burst much.
00:45:55If I turned out on a lie, then I would look aspect in the front cover.
00:45:59It was Меня, so you rallied from something from 오히려.
00:46:02That, I had this pocket all.
00:46:04If I had said it away, I would be careful seresュowych.
00:46:06After making a sweep is cooked properly, I was tricked by the bandwagoner,
00:46:10and I decided everywhere it was often from Lukian.
00:46:13That's the root for me.
00:46:15So nothing could take a MRIili, or something.
00:46:16No one disappeared, no one disappeared, no one disappeared, no one disappeared.
00:46:23For several minutes Anjali, the senior authorities of Swai Man Singh Hospital were completely
00:46:28at sea.
00:46:29They were unaware that this kind of fire had engulfed the intensive care unit and several
00:46:33of the people who have lost their loved ones, they were not even being told for a couple
00:46:37of hours that they have lost their loved ones, that what has happened to them and that is
00:46:42what is the major fact which has left them inconsolable.
00:46:48They claim that the hospital authorities were not even willing to tell them.
00:46:52When the chief minister arrived out here at around 2.30 in the night, several of them have
00:46:56alleged that they were pushed out of the hospital, told not to venture inside the hospital trauma
00:47:02centre and when the chief minister was there, the entire area was cordoned off.
00:47:06Sir, I want you to talk about it, what happened to you, sir, where did you tell us?
00:47:14I was in ICU, I was in ICU, it was at 11.00, it was at 11.00.
00:47:19It was at 11.00.
00:47:21It was at 11.00.
00:47:22It was at 7.00 on the bed, there was a number of 7.00 on the bed.
00:47:27foreign
00:47:57Sir, in the bed, there were two numbers in bed.
00:48:00Yes.
00:48:01We saw that there was a message, a child,
00:48:07all of them were in their own way.
00:48:11So, if you would like to have a mother?
00:48:13Yes.
00:48:14Yes.
00:48:15But the bed was locked in the bed.
00:48:17We didn't get it.
00:48:19But it didn't get it.
00:48:20Do you have any staff or any help?
00:48:23No, sir.
00:48:25No, no, no, no.
00:48:26But it was not alone.
00:48:27We could have only one person.
00:48:29No one would have to go out.
00:48:30We would have to go out.
00:48:32What happened after that?
00:48:35Sir, after that, after that,
00:48:37there was a lot of people who lost their bed.
00:48:39Then we could have all of them.
00:48:41We could have all the other people who lost their bed.
00:48:44Sir, we would have to go out to 10 to 15 minutes.
00:48:48So, we would have to go out to 10 to 15 minutes.
00:48:50So, after that, we would have all of them out.
00:48:54After that, we were saying that we had taken all of the patients and we had taken care of.
00:49:02Now we had taken care of, brother, what do I do?
00:49:05Brother, no one didn't see me.
00:49:07No one didn't see me.
00:49:10After that, we had tried to reach a few hours later.
00:49:14These were brothers too.
00:49:16When we reached a few hours later, our mother was sitting there.
00:49:20Anjali, you can see his hands have gone black because of the effort to save his mother.
00:49:27Sir, there was also a light on the bed.
00:49:37It was a blast.
00:49:39I don't know how it was.
00:49:41It was a blast.
00:49:43He was still not able to breathe properly because of the smoke that was blowing inside the ICU when the fire had engulfed the entire area because of the short circuit.
00:49:58And he is not the only one.
00:49:59You were there.
00:50:00You were there.
00:50:01You were there.
00:50:02You were there.
00:50:03You were there.
00:50:04You were there.
00:50:05You were there.
00:50:06You were there.
00:50:07You were there.
00:50:08Well, Anjali, clearly, these are heart-wrenching scenes coming from inside the Swaiman Singh Hospital where several of the relatives are claiming that for several minutes the hospital authorities were completely at sea.
00:50:18They were not even aware of the magnitude of the magnitude of the tragedy that had engulfed the intensive care unit.
00:50:25And several family members were fighting for their lives.
00:50:28Who is your father?
00:50:29His sister-in-law who lost her life, you can see this photo.
00:50:35And this clearly shows that the kind of smoke that she would have inhaled because of the of the fire that had engulfed the ICU.
00:50:44And this shows that, you know, for several minutes while these patients were battling inside the intensive care unit, the hospital authorities were nowhere to be seen.
00:50:52The patients relatives were trying to save them somehow trying to call for SOS for help, but no help was forthcoming.
00:51:00And after several minutes when they were running helter-skelter after that, they alleged that they were pushed out of the hospital because guess what?
00:51:09The politicians had to come and they were told not to venture anywhere near the trauma ward.
00:51:14And several of the relatives were pushed outside the hospital when the chief minister was about to arrive before that the deputy chief minister had arrived.
00:51:22And not only the relatives of the patients who were there, they have alleged that they were pushed out of the hospital.
00:51:29But even several of the people who had arrived outside, we saw those scenes when they were told by the police not to stand anywhere near the hospital because the politicians had to arrive.
00:51:39And the arrangements were made cordoned off the police cordoned off the entire area to ensure that the politicians did not face any hassle who had to arrive.
00:51:47And these accusations are being levelled are extremely serious.
00:51:51This is the biggest hospital of Rajasthan, the Swai Mansi Hospital.
00:51:54And you can well imagine if this is the scene prevailing inside the biggest hospital, what could have happened at different other places,
00:52:01if this kind of tragedy had unfolded in a different district outside of the state capital. Anjali?
00:52:07Absolutely, Devankur, completely gut-wrenching accounts being narrated by the relatives of the patients who lost their lives in this hospital fire.
00:52:16Let's also listen in to some more accounts.
00:52:18I can see the hospital 콘ent right there for four people.
00:52:26And the hospital is very strong.
00:52:29We are concerned about these, and they will have to immunize their lives in the hospital in the hospital.
00:52:32I am from here.
00:52:33And I expect to think about this hospital.
00:52:34I am from here to the hospital.
00:52:36And there will be a hospital in 4-5 patients from here, and I will be patient in the hospital.
00:52:39So there will be a hospital in the hospital.
00:52:41Let's see, there will be some more accounts.
00:52:42There will be 9-6 patients who will be sick in the hospital.

00:54:11Modi minister's blistering attack on Rahul Gandhi.
00:54:14Kirin Rajivu lambats for an insult by Rahul Gandhi.
00:54:18Hits out at Rahul Gandhi over the Gen Z revolt remark.
00:54:21Rajivu says that Gen Z is against dynasty and corruption.
00:54:26Kirin Rajivu said, and I quote,
00:54:28It doesn't befit Rahul Gandhi to speak of Gen Z.
00:54:30The young generation has ousted them from power.
00:54:33Gen Z means the new mindset of a new generation.
00:54:36It stands with Prime Minister Modi.
00:54:38India's Gen Z is against the control of this country in the hands of one party, one family.
00:54:45It is against corruption.
00:54:46Gen Z's anger is directed towards those who are not capable
00:54:50but want to run the government against the family that has captured the party.
00:54:55Gen Z is against Congress.
00:54:57That's the remark that Union Minister Kirin Rajivu has made
00:55:01while lambasting Lok Sabha leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi's post on India's Gen Z.
00:55:07and if it is an outreach in view of upcoming Bihar polls,
00:55:11Kirin Rajivu said that,
00:55:13Show me one leader of opposition who has ever gone outside India
00:55:17and made statements against the country or the government.
00:55:20So he also slammed Rahul Gandhi for speaking that democracy in India is in danger,
00:55:26that too on foreign soil.
00:55:27And he said that this is the first time an LOP speaks against his own country on foreign soil.
00:55:36Let's listen.
00:55:37Let's listen.
00:56:07Let's listen.
00:56:08Let's listen.
00:56:09Let's listen.
00:56:14Let's listen.
00:56:15Let's listen.
00:56:16Let's listen.
00:56:17Let's listen.
00:56:19Let's listen.
00:56:32party.
00:56:33This is Zainzji.
00:56:34Our government here is to live for people, for people.
00:56:39If Zainzji is to live for Congress, it is to live for Congress.
00:56:43We have a lot of people who have come.
00:56:45Either Advani or Atal or Shushma or Sharad Paor.
00:56:51There are many people who have come.
00:56:55You can show me that a leader of opposition, who has come from the country and the government
00:57:04has come.
00:57:05Rahul Gandhi is the first person and the first leader of opposition, who talks from the country
00:57:14and talks about our democracy and our system.
00:57:19So, after Rahul Gandhi's remark that democracy is in danger in India on foreign soil, Khireen
00:57:27Jujudu has now slammed Rahul Gandhi for speaking against his own country, that too on foreign
00:57:32soil.
00:57:33In fact, he also spoke of the Gen Z post by Rahul Gandhi saying that it doesn't be fit Rahul
00:57:38Gandhi to speak of Gen Z as the young generation has ousted them from power.
00:57:43My colleague Piyush Mishra is now joining us with more details on this.
00:57:46Piyush scathing attack by the union minister Khireen Jujudu against leader of opposition
00:57:51Rahul Gandhi on several issues, one of them being the Gen Z post by Rahul Gandhi.
00:57:57Khireen Jujudu has said that it is in fact the Gen Z that has rejected the Congress party
00:58:03and its dynastic and corruption politics.
00:58:06Well, that's right, Anjuri.
00:58:08That's a huge comment coming in from senior minister in Modi government, Khireen Jujudu,
00:58:12who is now coming out and slamming Rahul Gandhi for making anti-India comments on a foreign soil.
00:58:19The Prime Minister Rahul Gandhi was on a foreign nation visit and while he was in Colombia,
00:58:24he said that the democratic process in India poses a major risk in the country.
00:58:30He had gone on to say that China is leading towards the path of becoming global leader, not India.
00:58:37So now, after Pradaj Joshi, Sudhanshu Trivedi, Khireen Jujudu has also come out and has slammed Rahul Gandhi for making these comments.
00:58:45And Jujudu has gone on to say that Gen Z is not going to believe what Rahul Gandhi is saying.
00:58:50And this is the same generation which had ousted the Congress-ruled government because of the multiple misdeeds in which the U.P. government had evolved into.
00:59:00Now, we'll have to wait and watch as to how the Congress party is going to react on this big comment coming in from Union Parliament.
00:59:05If it's expressed, Dr. Jujudu.
00:59:07Alright, Piyush, thank you so much for getting us those details and for that context on the remark made by Union Minister Kiran Jujudu against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.
00:59:19Three of the world's most sophisticated semiconductor chip factories are set up in Sananand.
00:59:24Now, the city is poised to become India's newest silicon lodestone.
00:59:28With the ambitious aim of making India a global hub for semiconductor design and manufacturing, we bring you this report from inside the chip factory.
00:59:37The next level in global computing war.
01:00:01The need for microchip dominance.
01:00:05And Bharat is getting battle ready, one India-made microchip at a time.
01:00:12The Modi government is trying to position India as the next semiconductor superpower.
01:00:18And it is the focus of India Today magazine's latest edition.
01:00:23The battle for chip supremacy is being driven partly from this manufacturing hub in Gujarat Sanand.
01:00:31The Modi government has pumped in 76,000 crore rupees through its India semiconductor mission, launched on December 21st, 2001.
01:00:41India Today's Raj Chingapa was inside the facility speaking to Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav.
01:00:50This industry works very well when the entire ecosystem gets developed.
01:00:53There are more than 500 chemicals which are used in manufacturing chips, right?
01:00:57There are more than 50 gases.
01:00:59And these are chemicals and gases where you measure purity, not in parts per million, but in parts per billion and parts per trillion.
01:01:10One has to work very diligently to make sure that the entire ecosystem gets developed and the foundation of this industry gets laid properly so that the industry can have a run for next 20, 30 years, 40 years.
01:01:25India aims to build an entire semiconductor ecosystem from scratch and cut import dependence.
01:01:34Localizing chip production, securing supply chains are also primary goals.
01:01:39In effect, India eyes its very own chips from smartphones, EVs to AI, defense and industrial systems.
01:01:47We have practically covered every sector.
01:01:51I'll talk about some of the sectors.
01:01:53Memory, which goes into practically everything.
01:01:56Power electronics, which is very crucial to your electric vehicle industry, trains, your large machines, industrial electronics, all that.
01:02:05We are now, we are going to manufacture chips.
01:02:08We are going to manufacture the machines which make chips.
01:02:12We are going to manufacture the materials which make chips.
01:02:16That's the whole ecosystem we are working.
01:02:19The government is lavishing sops on chip makers since the game-changer microchip push may revolutionize job creation and skill development and propel India to a league of its own.
01:02:33In semiconductors, we have given the latest design tools to 278 universities.
01:02:40And the result is, in a very short time frame of two and a half years, students have designed chips.
01:02:46These are the student design chips.
01:02:51These are the student design chips.
01:02:53Based on the equipment?
01:02:54Based on the design tools that they have access to.
01:02:57Right.
01:02:58And we have used the semiconductor limited Mohali to tape out these chips.
01:03:03Oh, okay.
01:03:04Interesting.
01:03:05To manufacture this chip, fabricate these chips.
01:03:07India now has a nearly decade-long goal to emerge at the top of global microchip game.
01:03:14After decades of failure, will India ace the semiconductor game this time?
01:03:20With Raj Chingappa from Sanand Chip Making Plant, Gujarat, Bureau Report, India Today.
