00:00This is not an attempt to pressure you or keep you here.
00:05We do medically recommend it for sure.
00:08But again, at the end of the day, law does not,
00:11and there is no law saying that you guys have to hold my daughter for 24 hours.
00:15The hospital claims this practice is done to screen newborn babies
00:18for a variety of conditions, such as sickle cell disease.
00:21There wasn't even a doctor in here when I delivered,
00:22so no one even helped me with that.
00:24So I was so close, I feel like at home, I just,
00:27with the no pain management, it had been so many hours that I had been laboring anyway.
00:31It seemed like they were reaching an agreement,
00:33and then the other nurse came in.
00:35She needs to leave my state screen, and we've gone to swivel check.
00:39And we will go to her pediatrician in the morning.
00:42I don't have a doctor who has even seen her to ride a discharge.
00:46And we will not discharge her.
00:48Okay, well, I don't know, you need to call someone else.
00:52I will have the health supervisor come up and just warning you
00:55that there will be physical blockage of you leaving with this baby
00:59until we get this settled.
01:00And I would really like not to go down that road.
01:03You may leave if you want to, but you cannot take the baby until tomorrow.
01:07It should be around 11 o'clock tomorrow morning.
01:09I just don't know why it would be worth it to you to go tomorrow.
01:12Go, just go do what you need to do.
01:13Go get some paperwork, because we're not safe.
01:15Okay.
01:16So you guys are okay with supporting k***ing people?
01:19You've got gloves on, you're really going to try to take my minor child?
01:21They had a tough time dealing with the hospital and their strict postnatal rules.
01:25Despite having their own plan in place, the medical staff just would not budge.
01:29Do you think the guards will have them arrested?
