00:00We see Ty Simpson with another dynamic performance against Georgia.

00:04He sits at plus 950.

00:06Trinidad Chambliss, all he does is put up points.

00:09All he does is put up productivity and wins for Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss.

00:14He sits at 12-1.

00:16Diego Pavia and Joey Aguilar at 17-1, respectively,

00:21and more so Reid at 20-1.

00:23What do you feel about the Heisman Trophy as it relates to the conference overall?

00:27Well, I think the reason Ty Simpson has jumped so high up,

00:32not only has he played well,

00:34but now Alabama as a team has a better chance to get into the championship game,

00:39and you've got to keep on winning.

00:41I think the thing of that, a guy like Trinidad Chambliss and Diego Pavia,

00:47they're great stories.

00:49I mean, if Ole Miss were to keep winning,

00:51I guarantee a Division II quarterback, what a story that would be.

00:56It's kind of like Cam Ward last year.

00:58Everybody wants to now go watch him play.

01:00Of course, and I promise you,

01:03if Fanny can go to 6-0 with a win over Alabama,

01:06and I'm not betting on that one right now.

01:09But if he were to, that's a huge story, a great story.

01:12The guy's not even six feet tall, comes out of New Mexico State,

01:16and he turns the Southeastern Conference on his head,

01:21the way he plays and the way he plays against good people.

01:24So I think you've got a lot of good stories there.

01:26But right now, you've got Alabama, based on last week's overall performance,

01:31defense, offense, and quarterback,

01:34I can see him right now being kind of in the driver's seat.

01:38When you look at Vanderbilt, the program,

01:41because you brought up Diego Pavia and Clark Lee's ability

01:44to just bring in transfer talent and then coach that talent up,

01:49if Clark Lee gets the victory two years in a row over Alabama,

01:53is he going to stay in Vandy and Nashville,

01:56or has he got a stepping stone to a bigger and better job

01:59potentially within the conference or in another Power Four conference?

02:04Well, I'm going to recommend him.

02:06I can't tell him what to do, but I would just look back at James Franklin.

02:09I would look at Dave Klausen at Wake Forest.

02:12I don't care how good you get at certain school.

02:15Eventually, it's going to turn around.

02:17Remember, Lee, Clark Lee was 2-10, 5-7, 2-10.

02:22Then he gets Pavia, and he goes 7-5, and now he's 5-0.

02:27Is it more him or is it more Pavia?

02:29And I guarantee it, even after they beat Alabama last year,

02:33they went 6-6 in the regular season.

02:35They didn't get their winning season until the bowl game.

02:38They still lost half their games in their regular season.

02:41And so no matter how good you do at Vanderbilt,

02:46I guarantee you better have your eyes open if a special program opens up,

02:50and you better jump on it.
