00:00The Cudum Pride is fighting for its life.
00:08It's like a gang war.
00:10Battling to protect their young cuffs...
00:13We've got another female coming in.
00:15..these mums...
00:17This is not good. This is really not good.
00:20..must find the rest of the pride if they're all to survive.
00:25Where are the cuffs?
00:30The Okavango Delta in Botswana.
00:35We are in a pristine environment right now.
00:37One of Africa's last wildernesses.
00:41The magnitude of life here is unparalleled.
00:44And it's a haven for Africa's big cats.
00:48Lion, cheetah and leopard.
00:54Big cat country.
00:56Armed with the latest filming technology,
01:00the Big Cats 24-17 is following individual big cats for six months.
01:07This is a unique opportunity to follow these cats round the clock.
01:11Through the day...
01:13I used to think I'd have a fair fight with a lion.
01:17Not so sure now.
01:19And the night.
01:21We've got the most sophisticated thermal imaging technologies.
01:26Capturing their behaviour...
01:2824 hours a day.
01:30I have never seen anything like this.
01:33Epic!
01:34This program was made possible in part by...
01:53And by contributions to your PBS station from viewers like you.
02:03Oh, they're locking jaws!
02:06She's clawed him in the face!
02:09Oh, the girls are driving Demo away!
02:13These females might have done it!
02:22She's contact calling.
02:23Conflict looks over for now.
02:27That was insane.
02:28That was so insane.
02:30Rea, have you got eyes on these cubs?
02:44Nah, that's a negative.
02:55Lionesses have no idea where the cubs are.
02:58Lion Mums Mato...
03:02Sebe...
03:05And Naledi are searching for their nine young cubs.
03:10Scattered in the chaos of the fight with the Rogue Boys.
03:15I'm just really scared to see beyond the long grass and see a dead cub.
03:19Please tell me that's not happened.
03:28This is a cub.
03:29This is a cub right here.
03:39Some cubs are over there.
03:40Right, let's count these cubs.
03:54One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
03:58Great.
04:00We're missing one cub.
04:02This is not cool.
04:04Rea, have you got eyes on this ninth cub?
04:07That is a negative.
04:09Naledi is just non-stop contact calling.
04:13I feel for her.
04:15It's Naledi's smallest cub that's missing.
04:19That's missing.
04:27Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please.
04:29Be okay, be okay.
04:35Ah, there's the cub.
04:36The cub is trailing pretty far behind.
04:54It's not over for these mums and cubs.
05:00The three younger rogue boys have circled back.
05:06This cub is alone.
05:08He's literally within 50 meters to these three rogue boys.
05:14Intruder male lions are responsible for a quarter of cub deaths.
05:19This is very dangerous.
05:21What?
05:25One of the mums has come back.
05:32But Naledi is not leaving her cub behind.
05:36And Matto and Sebe are joining.
05:51It's like a gang war here.
05:54I've never seen anything like this.
05:57They're trying to settle this through growls.
06:01Lions typically will avoid confrontations.
06:07If you have an injury, it could be battle.
06:12Without their leader, Dimo.
06:21The battle's over.
06:23The three youngsters are finally backing down.
06:26These rogue boys seem to be heading to the direction they came from.
06:36These are some serious women bosses.
06:41Anna?
06:43I can't believe it, eh?
06:45They have successfully fought off these rogue boys.
06:49Yes.
06:51Oh, great news.
06:52I'm so relieved.
06:53Mato, Sebe and the lady have saved their cubs.
07:03For now.
07:05Since Big To and Madumo have disappeared,
07:09they're leaving their lionesses to just do all the work.
07:14But with the rogue boys still in the area,
07:17the mums and their cubs remain vulnerable.
07:22It just feels like this territory is completely up for grabs.
07:27The Kudum Pride has been apart for weeks.
07:31Now scattered across its 250 square kilometer territory in the Ocovango Delta.
07:41There are lots of players who are just moving in.
07:45Who knows who this territory is for now?
07:48It's total chaos.
07:49The abundance of prey brought by the annual flood is drawing more predators in.
07:59Putting all the big cats on edge.
08:01Especially these young mothers.
08:05There are so many cubs to protect.
08:08Without Big To and Madumo to help them.
08:12Mums working together is essential.
08:16Mato, Naledi and Sebe must rejoin the other mums in the Pride for protection.
08:22We just really, really need safety numbers.
08:27But first, they need to find them.
08:37I think I've just seen a glimpse of a leopard.
08:41Tristan and Brad are on the trail of leopard mum, La Diva.
08:53Mum looks happy.
08:56Cub looks happy.
09:03This little cub is very playful.
09:08I think she's spotted an impala.
09:22Yeah.
09:24The little cub has just tried to run into an impala.
09:28It scared everything.
09:32Oh, that was too cute.
09:34Any opportunity, these cats are ready to go.
09:38And even from the age of four months,
09:41they seem to think that they can take down adult impalas.
09:46That was absolutely adorable.
09:48Look mum, look what I tried to do.
09:52Did you see me?
09:54I nearly caught one.
09:58Oh yes, mummy and cub.
10:05After losing one of her cubs.
10:09I got a little bit of suckling here.
10:12La Diva is now focusing on keeping this one alive.
10:15I would really like to see her starting to provide a lot more meat for the cub.
10:22My sense is that she should be getting a lot more than she is at the moment.
10:28To feed them both, La Diva needs to catch something every two to three days.
10:36The Diva's just gone up.
10:41Her suckling has stopped.
10:43Diva's on the move.
10:45Which means she must leave her cub unprotected in its nursery.
10:50To search for food.
10:54She's covering a lot of ground.
10:56Pushing hard.
10:57She's just bumped into the baboon troop.
11:15I haven't seen her.
11:16And she is sneaking away as quietly as possible.
11:26Baboons will alert any prey to La Diva's presence.
11:31Amazing.
11:33She's virtually going underneath the front of my car.
11:35Tris.
11:36She's now heading back through the forest.
11:42The Diva's have finally found something to hunt.
11:46Oh, that's a big male red bug.
11:48You don't know where the cat is because she's so well-califlagged and hidden.
11:49Less than one in five leopard hunts are successful.
11:51The Diva's have finally found something to hunt.
11:54The Diva's have finally found something to hunt.
11:58Oh, that's a big male red bug.
12:00You don't know where the cat is because she's so well-califlagged and hidden.
12:03Less than one in five leopard hunts are successful.
12:06This red bug has no idea that the leopard's coming up behind him.
12:10La Diva's best chance is to stalk within five meters of her prey.
12:16The red bug's moving.
12:17Oh, jeez, that was close.
12:18Unlucky.
12:19Oh, jeez, that was close.
12:20Unlucky.
12:21Oh, my God.
12:22The red bug has no idea that the leopard's coming up behind him.
12:25The red bug has no idea that the leopard's coming up behind him.
12:28La Diva's best chance is to stalk within five meters of her prey.
12:32The red bug's moving.
12:35Oh, jeez, that was close.
12:46Unlucky.
12:47Unlucky.
12:48She just, just missed it.
12:53What is going on?
12:54You go on her.
12:55I'll go.
13:01A little bit of a noise and alarm calling going on here.
13:04There's definitely something else going on.
13:11We've got a male lion underneath a tree.
13:14This is really, really scary.
13:17She's moving straight towards him right now.
13:20She hasn't seen him.
13:22A little pop-up run in front of him there.
13:26If the male lion can catch her,
13:28any will kill her.
13:29It's just what predators do to each other.
13:31He doesn't see him, but she's right in front of him.
13:44He's very lucky this guy didn't decide to charge her,
13:55because that could have been a horrible, horrible ending.
13:59Oh, she's being brave, coming straight down the tree.
14:03La Diva is making a hasty retreat.
14:05That was a bit close for comfort.
14:10This lone male lion is not one of the rogue boys,
14:16but yet another newcomer to the area.
14:18Greg is with the mums and young cubs moving south.
14:35As one of the biggest, most dominant prides in the whole Okavango,
14:38we've become quite accustomed to these lions really ruling the roost here.
14:46It looks like that's all changing.
14:50I've never seen a pride takeover.
15:00Roger that.
15:01I'm following a couple of pneumatic males.
15:04What? This is ridiculous.
15:07Heading towards the mums.
15:09The arrival of the flood, we're seeing concentration of big cats.
15:13Gordon has discovered more intruders.
15:16A bit of a melting pot.
15:18Taking the total in the area to at least seven.
15:21These lions have probably battled their way around the Okavango
15:25for the last couple of years.
15:26With that singular mission of finding somewhere they can call their own.
15:35Now what in the hell is happening?
15:37We've got two bigger sub-adult males chasing directly after Dimo.
15:42And now, just a kilometre away,
15:44Raya has spotted the rogue boys' leader, Dimo.
15:48What's going on here? I mean, he's all alone.
15:50Without backup.
15:52They're coming straight to us. They're coming straight to us.
15:53They're coming straight to us.
15:54They're coming straight to us.
15:55He's being pursued by even more intruding male lions.
15:58I can't even recall how many groups of males have popped up.
16:06Oh, they've got Dimo. They've got him.
16:14God, this is so close.
16:15There's directly in front of us.
16:16They're right here.
16:18They're biting him.
16:19I've never seen this before.
16:25This is a battle of intruders versus other intruders.
16:29Dimo came into this territory and we cast him as a bad guy.
16:49Can't help but feel a little sorry for him now.
16:51Badly injured.
16:55This might be the last time we see Dimo.
16:58Dimo is leaving.
17:01It's really hard to keep track of all these lions we're seeing.
17:04With no dominant males, the Kudum Pride territory is now a battleground.
17:10Very worrying for the pride.
17:14Lionesses are having to protect the cubs on their own.
17:20Mato, Naledi, Sebe and their cubs are all in danger.
17:26Banding together is definitely going to help.
17:28Yeah.
17:31Okay, the lion's moving.
17:33They want to move their cubs to safety.
17:37They must find the other mums of the pride as soon as possible.
17:41Hey, Pobbe, how you doing?
17:55How are your cubs?
17:57Anna is with Pobbe the cheetah and her two cubs.
18:02They're just growing day by day.
18:06These two are super lucky because at the moment their mum is doing all of the hard work.
18:16There they are.
18:20Kia and Bo have made it to six months old.
18:27Super cute to see.
18:29The world is just their playground at the moment.
18:32Every single tree is like a jungle gym.
18:37They're now starting to learn the skills to survive on their own.
18:45These cubs are practicing their tree climbing.
18:49This is essential learning for them.
18:52Because climbing trees helps them when they need to get off the ground.
18:56But it gives a really good viewpoint above all of this long grass.
19:03Cheetahs can see movement up to two kilometres away.
19:07By climbing trees they can scan for prey but they can also scan for predators.
19:15Being able to spot danger from afar and escape it.
19:19Here, at the top of a tree.
19:20Is crucial with so many lions now in the area.
19:31It's looking a little bit uncomfortable up there right now.
19:38Oh dear, she's got herself into a bit of a situation here.
19:45Just trying to go down backwards.
19:46And she'll need her down.
19:49It looked quite stressful.
19:51Yeah, wonderful springy legs coming into their own.
19:55I do feel like they're slowly growing into their legs.
20:00Every day they're getting more use to their bodies and you can see that that is really helping them in their way.
20:04And their speed and agility, their tree climbing, all a bit.
20:21What looks like play is essentially key training for them.
20:26Because we can't forget the cheetahs are at the bottom of the pecking order.
20:33They're always looking over their shoulders.
20:37Cheetah cubs leave their mothers at 18 months old.
20:42It's amazing how much they have to develop in such a short amount of time.
20:47To be ready to go it alone.
20:50Kia and Beau still have a lot to learn.
20:54That is the life of a cheetah.
20:57They have to develop so much faster than the other cats in the Delta.
21:02It's begun.
21:20Lediba is well and truly on her mission tonight.
21:24The cub's den is only a couple hundred meters away.
21:27With her cub hidden nearby, Lediba is hunting again.
21:33Looks like she's managed to sight out some impala moving through the flood plain.
21:39This might be her change in luck.
21:42She's certainly very hungry and it looks like she's going to give this as good of a go as possible.
21:48She's got herself into a pretty amazing position here.
22:01I can hear something barking.
22:04What the hell, man?
22:07She was in the perfect position.
22:10What?
22:13Line.
22:14She doesn't want to even try and compete with a lion.
22:22They're just too big.
22:24There's lions literally everywhere.
22:34Lediba has gone into some thicker cover now.
22:38The influx of new lions into the area.
22:41I'm losing visual of her.
22:44Is affecting all of the resident big cats.
22:47She's bolted off into the sage ridge and I can't keep up with her through there.
22:53It's now been three days since the team last saw Lediba eat.
22:58Hopefully for Lediba she manages to get herself a meal.
23:01It's morning, but Tristan and Rhea are being held in camp by a curious visitor.
23:15We've got a little bit of a blockage here on our way to the vehicles.
23:29Mr. Ellie is enjoying our lawn.
23:33This is supposed to be our badminton field.
23:35There's a lot of elephants around.
23:39I'm just seeing like elephants over there.
23:44We probably get elephants walking through camp four or five times a day.
23:48You can see what the elephant does when he takes the grass.
23:58He pulls it out with his trunk.
24:00And then he shakes it side to side removing that sand and the dust off.
24:04Not to hurt his teeth.
24:06And then he eats it.
24:07Having an elephant right literally in the middle of a camp is always a reminder just how wild this place is.
24:17Definitely something special.
24:20When we've got a bit of a speed bump like this on our way out,
24:24best thing to do is appreciate it.
24:27We shouldn't forget at the end of the day this is their land.
24:30We're just visitors.
24:31Some people drive a car to work and they've got to watch out for an accident.
24:37When I get out of my room in the morning I've got to make sure I don't bump into him.
24:45Mr. Ellie's gone.
24:47Time to get back to work.
24:48I do feel like today is a major school day.
25:02Bush School for Cheetah Cubs Kea and Bo is continuing with mum Pobbe.
25:07Pobbe looks uninterested in the actual impala.
25:11It kind of feels like it's actually just more about the lesson.
25:14That felt like she was teaching the Cubs how to run or how to accelerate.
25:33Pobbe seems to be on a mission to show them a few little hunting skills.
25:38The cubs are learning another vital lesson.
25:42We've got Bobbe's cubs here imitating their mum.
25:46They think they're on a serious hunt.
25:48These are skills which will help them in the long term.
25:51To survive on their own, Kea and Bo must learn how to run down prey.
25:55Little wildebeest.
25:57Just over in that direction.
25:59And the cubs are over straight ahead of me.
26:03They're moving straight towards them.
26:05Definitely got their ears down.
26:07Oh, running, running, running, running.
26:09It's pretty amazing to see the difference from just a month ago when they were shy and never take the initiative.
26:22Fully grown wildebeest are ten times heavier than Kea and Bo.
26:40I bet the wildebeest are thinking, what is going on?
26:48Why is this tiny cheetah trying to run at us?
26:56They are staring at the zebra.
27:00They've got missile locks on their eyes.
27:02But Kea is not giving up.
27:11Wow, she's so fast.
27:14At this age, cheetah cubs can run nearly 80 kilometres per hour.
27:19Ooh, that is nuts.
27:23No, okay.
27:27Every failed attempt is a lesson.
27:29It'll be another year before they can hit top speed.
27:35Getting that little practice on how to approach prey gives them a good sense of from what distance will prey see you.
27:44They definitely haven't quite learned the element of surprise yet.
27:48Oh!
28:02There's a hyena over here that has picked up the scent of something.
28:06This has got the potential to go really, really wrong.
28:16I don't know how the cubs are going to respond to this.
28:23A single spotted hyena is a challenge.
28:26What is Kea doing?
28:27She's going straight towards the hyena.
28:39Kea is standing her ground.
28:44Super brave.
28:57Take that hyena.
28:58Take that hyena.
29:03What the hell?
29:09There are three hyenas.
29:11Three is a scary number for them.
29:15But three hyenas together...
29:18It's going in, it's going in, it's going in.
29:19...could be deadly for the cubs.
29:22They're running from behind us.
29:25Kea is running.
29:35Both the cubs and Paul Bay have been chased away.
29:39This is not great news because the cubs have been separated.
29:42One cubs has been separated.
29:50One cub has found Paul Bay.
29:59The other one has taken refuge up the tree.
30:02So, their tree climbing skills, they are coming in more useful than I think they probably thought.
30:10Don't go to that!
30:13Yay!
30:17Kea and Beau are unscathed.
30:21The cubs are having lesson after lesson.
30:25And I think they've just learned a very important one, which is,
30:29don't mess with hyenas.
30:39We've got Matu, Naledi and Sebe here with their cubs.
30:46It's going to get thick up ahead.
30:49Setz and Gordon are on the night shift.
30:53They've wandered so far tonight.
30:56Matu, Sebe and Naledi are still searching for the other pride mums.
31:02This is miles away.
31:05This is right down as far south as I've ever been.
31:12Naledi and Matu have gone up the tree.
31:23Very quiet.
31:25We can get a lot better if they're off the ground.
31:28Lions use sound to find each other from up to eight kilometers away.
31:33I think they've heard something.
31:39We're locked on to something behind me.
31:42But it's not the other pride mums.
31:52Those zebra.
31:54One hundred percent.
31:56Yeah, they're interested.
31:59This is a chance to feed their cubs.
32:04Okay, it's going to be tricky.
32:06But they've started to spread out.
32:09Matu is going straight towards them.
32:12Sebe has gone wide to the left.
32:16Naledi has disappeared off to the right.
32:24Okay.
32:26The hunt is on.
32:31Alasta.
32:39They've got something.
32:42Oh, they're taking a zebra down.
32:44That is a big cat bundle.
32:49Oh, it's down.
32:51They've taken it down.
32:56The cubs are digging in.
33:01Quite some price.
33:03After days on the move.
33:08Who's going to pop the drone up?
33:10This is a welcome meal.
33:17They need to keep quiet.
33:19Keep this a secret and will not alert other cats in the area.
33:22Hey, Gordon.
33:32Did you copy that?
33:34Yeah, I did.
33:35It's kind of over my right-hand shoulder.
33:38You know, the scent of this carcass is wafting straight towards me.
33:42So it's probably carrying far and wide.
33:45Yeah, we might be in for a surprise.
33:51Lions have to eat fast because you never know who wants to come along and pinch that meal from you.
33:58I can hear them.
34:00I saw something moving behind them in the tree line.
34:08Oh, yeah.
34:10So, it's a female.
34:12I can't tell who that is.
34:19My daughter's up.
34:22She's being extra cautious.
34:26Oh.
34:29They're chasing.
34:43It's clearly not one of the other Kudum Pride lionesses.
34:49Whoever they are, they're not welcome.
34:55Heading back.
34:56They're just passing behind the car.
35:08Oh, no.
35:10What's going on?
35:14More lions coming in.
35:15Oh, that is such a menacing sound.
35:28All of these lions just trying to intimidate and push the girls off the kill.
35:37The mums have traveled so far from their own territory.
35:44Oh.
35:47They've run into another pride.
35:50The five in total.
35:52They are calling.
35:53The other one's calling.
35:55These newcomers aren't after the cubs.
35:59Oh, there's more.
36:00They want a free meal.
36:01They want a free meal.
36:10It was a big fire erupting.
36:12It was massive.
36:20The numbers are now working in their favor.
36:21They're now being chased off.
36:32The kill is not worth it.
36:39The zebra carcass has been abandoned.
36:41It's just not worth defending.
36:48They've taken the cubs and then off.
36:52That was enough.
36:54For them to pull out here.
36:58The mums and cubs have lost their meal.
37:03It is quite sick here.
37:04Just lost visual of the lions.
37:07And disappeared into the scrub.
37:24Next morning.
37:26Aha.
37:28Here they are.
37:30We've got a whole pile of lions.
37:38Greg has found Mato, Sebe and Neledi on the edge of Kudumpray territory.
37:45A couple of the lionesses are getting up.
37:52Oh.
37:54I can see some blood.
37:55Some of them look like they really did take a beating, eh?
38:04The lady looks like she got seriously hurt last night.
38:10She got a lot of open wounds.
38:13Cuts under her leg.
38:15It's on her face.
38:21Pawsing.
38:22Oh, Mato has just gotten up and she's walking across.
38:28Oh, she's got some serious blood underneath her front leg.
38:34Ow.
38:36She's been hurt.
38:38Very uncommon for us to see Mato turned in a confrontation.
38:44It looks like last night the lionesses met their match.
38:47Her and Neledi both have wounds on the back of their rump, which means that they were bitten from behind.
38:54One hell of a scrap.
38:59Not one of them is unscathed.
39:03From what I can tell, all of the cubs are okay.
39:06So the mums must have put up one hell of a fight.
39:10But we've got a lot of cubs that haven't eaten.
39:13It's not a good place to be.
39:16Mato, Sebe and Neledi cannot afford another attack from intruders.
39:26It's a pivotal point for the leading lionesses to make a decision on what to do here.
39:34Safety with the other mums of the pride has never been more urgent.
39:39They've got intruders all over their territory.
39:43Big time a duma.
39:44Nowhere to be found.
39:46So they've been squeezed.
39:48It's going to be very interesting to see how they navigate their way out of it.
40:00Trust.
40:01No diva has made a kill.
40:03Don't do that.
40:04Don't do that.
40:09Ah.
40:11Brad has found Lediba.
40:13Cats have unbelievable expressions.
40:16But she's not alone.
40:18We're looking at this lion.
40:20It's with utter disgust.
40:23The lone intruder male has interrupted Lediba's plans to eat again.
40:29It's just sad that she's gone through all this effort to make a kill.
40:32And it gets stolen by a lion.
40:36She really needed a meal.
40:42It must be torturous for her to just sit there and watch a male lion eat her carcass and not be able to do anything about it.
40:50I think he's done eating for now.
40:56He's derying the entrails.
40:59Trying to conceal the scent.
41:05He's moving.
41:11And he's deaf.
41:16Lediba's started to move around a little bit.
41:19She's watching that carcass.
41:22I think she's thinking about taking a piece back.
41:26I think it was a cub there.
41:28Yeah, it was her cubs at the base of the tree.
41:33It looks like Lediba brought her hungry cub to eat.
41:37This is crazy.
41:39Before the lion pushed them off.
41:41This is a particularly dangerous situation.
41:51That cub just has to stay concealed.
41:54And is resting.
41:57Lediba has spotted an opportunity.
41:59She's being very careful.
42:09Okay, she's on the ground.
42:13Admire her determination to try and get some of this back.
42:17I think she's getting desperate.
42:22This is a valuable meal.
42:25I think she's going to risk it all.
42:26I think she's going to risk it all.
42:27Greg, Brad.
42:28Go ahead, Brad.
42:29Greg is joining Brad on the night shift.
42:30Sorry, make your way around here and join us.
42:31Copy that, Brad.
42:32Sorry, make your way around here and join us.
42:33Copy that, Brad.
42:34Sorry, make your way around here and join us.
42:35Copy that, Brad.
42:37She's been killed.
42:38The husband's a great young man,
42:39donde está acabando.
42:40I don't know what's going to do.
42:41I think she's going to be able to do it.
42:43And I think she's been killed and that's just for The Apocrys.
42:45Great, come over here and do it.
42:47You know what's going to do?
42:49No, no, no.
42:51And then they wait for God to have to die.
42:52Go ahead, Brad.
42:55Greg is joining Brad on the night shift.
42:57Sorry, make your way around here and join us.
42:58Copy that, Brad.
42:59She's been here eight, nine hours, very passionately waiting to steal something back.
43:11The cub is desperate.
43:13At this age, the cub should be eating almost three pounds of meat every day, on top of
43:20her mum's milk.
43:22It's quite easy to notice with the thermal imaging, just how skinny Ladiba and her cub
43:27are.
43:28So it makes sense that her and the cub waited.
43:34But hunger is putting them both at risk.
43:43Big boy is moving.
43:46He is moved to Africa.
43:54Ladiba is sneaking in.
44:06She's got it.
44:07Brad, I think you can hear me back, eh?
44:13The cub is heading into the trees for safety.
44:14It's a hell of a clown for a cub.
44:15She's seen him.
44:16But Ladiba is determined to get something to eat.
44:20Gotta go.
44:21Come on.
44:22Gotta go.
44:23Come on.
44:24Come on.
44:25Well done.
44:26Ladiba.
44:27Ladiba.
44:28Ladiba.
44:29That has to sneak a little bit of food there.
44:30Ladiba.
44:31It's a hell of a clown for a cub.
44:34She's seen him.
44:35Ladiba.
44:36Ladiba.
44:37America.
44:38Boy.
44:39Silly is a cryptanus.
44:40But Ladiba is determined to get something to eat.
44:43Ladiba is determined to get something to eat.
44:48Gotta go.
44:49Come on.
44:52Well done, Ladiba.
44:54Adiba, that has to sneak a little bit of food there.
45:14Adiba's nice and high up.
45:17She'll get some decent value out of what she managed to scavenge.
45:21She needs it.
45:24Adiba's persistence has paid off.
45:30She can now feed herself and her cub.
45:35Never a moment's rest for a mother leopard.
45:55Hobbit is in hunt mode.
45:58She's definitely walking about with purpose.
46:00After the cheetah's hunt training was interrupted by hyenas.
46:04It's so cool her body language just completely changes.
46:08Here's a combat.
46:10Lessons are back on.
46:16Oh.
46:17I think she's going to die.
46:29There's a cutie cough.
46:31There's a cutie cough.
46:32She's got it.
46:33Oh, Kia's in already.
46:34She is first on the scene.
46:48That came completely out of nowhere.
46:55She's a machine.
46:58As soon as she gets up into hunt mode, you're like, well, she's about to kill something.
47:02You just know it.
47:03Kia's watching Pobbe.
47:08And Pobbe is clamping her jaws around this kudu's neck.
47:16And this is a perfect moment for Kia to learn just what it takes to suffocate her prey.
47:27Because that's what cheetahs do.
47:28They just clamp down on the windpipe their prey.
47:32By bringing in prey that is alive and then showing them how it's done,
47:37this is the next stage in their hunting practice.
47:40Whoa.
47:41Whoa, look at this.
47:46Kia's having a go.
47:49She's popping Pobbe.
47:52You can really see that Pobbe is trying to teach her a lesson here.
47:56She keeps, like, clumping.
47:58And then she lets it go.
48:00And then Kia has a go.
48:05Your parents always tell you, don't play with your food.
48:09But that's exactly what you should do if you're a cheetah cub.
48:14Kia is learning fast.
48:18Where is Bo?
48:21But her brother is skipping class.
48:26Oh, wow.
48:29Kia's calling Bo.
48:31That is such a sweet sound.
48:37Pobbe's also calling.
48:40They can make these incredible chirping sounds.
48:50It's coming.
48:52I feel for him because he just seems like he's always a little bit slow off the mark than Kia.
48:58Kia runs into every situation head first, whereas Bo's a little bit more shy and anxious of everything.
49:05Pobbe is succeeding as a cheetah mum.
49:06All of this teaching will be completely worth it when these cubs reach about a year old, because at that point they can start participating in the hunts.
49:23Every day her cubs move another step closer to looking after themselves.
49:33Pobbe is going to start handing the ropes over to them and saying, you know, you go ahead.
49:40Amazing.
49:41Every single day, these cubs are learning more and more.
49:50Eventually they're going to be absolutely unstoppable.
49:55This is uncharted territory for me.
50:00I think that they've pulled away from all those intruders.
50:04Gordon and Greg are searching for Lion Mums, Mato, Naledi, Sebe and their cubs.
50:13Makes sense that they've kind of just shifted.
50:14But they've become increasingly hard to find.
50:16This is way off. Good for them.
50:18We have crossed the west.
50:19A place where we've never found them before.
50:20Bingo!
50:21Bingo!
50:22Look!
50:48Bingo!
50:50Look!
50:52Gee girls, what in the heck are you doing down here?
50:56Hallelujah, that is great.
50:59Hey, hey fam.
51:02Been missing you guys.
51:04Last time we saw them, they had just come out of a big boxing match,
51:07but thankfully, looks like everybody's doing okay.
51:11Where have you been?
51:15You can see in many of our alliance,
51:18their healing ability is amazing.
51:20Their lives are often shown so vividly on their faces.
51:26These lions are incredibly resilient.
51:29They're just super tough.
51:33Lion team, lion team.
51:35You got headsets.
51:37Hey Gordon, I just found some lionesses.
51:41Can't believe this.
51:43I have Makosi, Nossi, and Magogo.
51:48Ooh, that is good news.
51:51What?
51:52We've been looking for so long.
51:55I can't begin to tell you how I'm feeling.
51:59Sets has finally located the other mums of the pride.
52:05Moving in search of safety from intruders,
52:09they're contact calling.
52:11Both groups of lionesses are now within earshot.
52:19Can you hear that?
52:21Oh my word.
52:23The girls are up.
52:26Three of them.
52:27Three of them.
52:28Naledi, Sebi, and Matu.
52:31They've all got up and started to move.
52:35Could get very exciting.
52:37Oh wow.
52:38This is quite incredible to see.
52:50They're running.
52:51They're running across the water.
52:54After two weeks apart.
53:00Oh, happy days.
53:03Matu, Naledi, Sebi, and their cubs are reuniting
53:08with the other pride mums.
53:11Tell me that there's a better sighting in life than this.
53:16I don't think I've ever seen them in such a huge number.
53:21The bonds are clearly very strong.
53:23It's as if they haven't seen each other in a lifetime.
53:32Seeing so many lions moving together,
53:34you can't help but just feel a sense of strength.
53:40I'm feeling it right now.
53:46This is the security and safety and numbers that this pride needs.
53:58I think we could all breathe a sigh of relief.
54:02They've survived against the odds.
54:10If I was an intruder lion, this is one group I don't want to mess with.
54:16The 은 heartbreaking so much.
54:18The two lions coming into a row.
54:19The two they say a toy hunt in their lives.
54:22The charged.
54:29You can be in trouble with a plan.
54:32We both want to mess with the ads.
54:33The two of the affiliates and the teams部 Duhamra.
54:35There are what they do.
54:36The bleibt from the name.
54:37I have to tell them the world.
54:38I will tell them that this division won.
54:39They still have to be thank you.
54:40The sixtieseso Falchot은 was very important in it.
54:42I can believe that this kit can have evidence.
54:43trotzdem aware of a really bit of action,
54:44from every single color.
