The Belle Isle gator is now safe in a local exotic animal sanctuary. WWJ's Tim Pamplin introduces you to the gator that's got amazing survival skills, her kind have been around for ~37 million years, but they're no match to Michigan winters.

00:04Meet the Belle Isle alligator, about two foot long, putting it at about two years old.
00:08A baby, when you consider these things, can live to see 70 and grow up to eight feet long.
00:14That's Crocodile Kate, she's with the Great Lakes Serpentarium here in Westland.
00:18They care for all sorts of creatures, including gators, crocodiles and a dizzying array of snakes.
00:23The theory is that she was someone's pet and that someone saw the writing on the wall and let her go on Belle Isle.
