Directed by Academy Award-nominee Paul Greengrass and inspired by real events, “The Lost Bus” is a white-knuckle ride through one of America’s deadliest wildfires, as a wayward school bus driver (Academy Award-winner Matthew McConaughey) and a dedicated school teacher (Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe Award-winner America Ferrera) battle to save 22 children from the terrifying inferno.

Screenplay by Brad Ingelsby and Paul Greengrass, “The Lost Bus” is produced by Jason Blum for Blumhouse Productions, Jamie Lee Curtis for Comet Pictures, Brad Ingelsby, and Gregory Goodman. The film is based on the book ‘Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire’ by Lizzie Johnson. In addition to Matthew McConaughey, America Ferrera, Yul Vazquez, and Ashlie Atkinson also star in the film.

00:00Paradise, California, 2018.
00:02This fire came through.
00:03They thought it was just going to be a regular fire.
00:06It's just another brush fire, nothing new.
00:09But this one was different.
00:10We're having problems hitting the targets with these winds.
00:13The worst case scenario happened.
00:15It was unprecedented.
00:18Based on all drivers, we have a situation.
00:21There are kids who are stranded in the evacuation zone.
00:24This is the story of Kevin McKay.
00:28He was driving a school bus.
00:30He was trying to get home to his son.
00:31Hey, it's Dad.
00:32I need to know you're okay, buddy.
00:34Is there anybody that can go and pick these kids up?
00:38That decision between his son and kids stranded over at this school,
00:42he chose to take the call.

00:46He went and picked up these kids and their teacher, Mary Ludwig.

00:52It was the most harrowing six hours of their life.
00:55This is inspired by the true story,
00:58and it's one of the many from that day.

01:04participating in the filmmaking.

01:09and Cal Fire firefighters.
01:11It adds a level of reality and truth to the movie.
01:15This film is an incredible journey of human resiliency.

01:22it's a story about second chances.

01:29No one saw this catastrophic fire coming.
