00:00point in time and this is an important one there has been a cockpit security breach it was an air
00:06india express flight from bingaluru to varanasi where we witnessed a security scare a passenger
00:14shockingly tried to open the cockpit door that's right that's the latest update that we are getting
00:19for you this incident in fact took place on flight ix1086 it was a bingaluru to varanasi flight where
00:27we uh have got information that there was a security scare earlier today because a passenger
00:34tried to open the cockpit door and in fact as per reports the passenger reportedly entered the
00:41correct passcode but the captain kept the door locked suspecting a possible hijack let's straight
00:47away go across to my colleague imran who's joining us live right now for more on this uh imran this is
00:53absolutely shocking and scary at the same time there was in a way a hijack scare mid-air
00:59well absolutely in fact uh one of the passenger who was uh in the same flight tweeted about the
01:05entire incident saying that it was uh scary that you know one of them tried to open the cockpit and
01:10in fact even had the right passport to open it uh that's such uh you know it just shows it could
01:16have been a hijack situation and uh uh the captain however didn't open the door fearing a hijack but
01:22uh what was surprising was that one of the passenger who tried to open the cockpit door
01:26in the bangaluru varanasi flight of 1x1086 today uh had the right passcode and he tried to open the
01:33the door but there was eight others flying with the same passenger uh however all of them were grounded
01:40and handed over to the csf for further inquiry in fact the uh the airlines have also put out a
01:46statement that they are uh they are uh affirming the reverse safety and safety protocols and none
01:52of which are compromised is what they clean uh they had however they say the airline says the matter
01:56has been reported to relevant authorities and currently it's under investigation right clearly this is
02:01quite shocking firstly how did he manage to get the correct passcode uh uh and it was quick thinking by
02:08the pilot there by the captain there who ensured that the door remained locked and also imran give
02:14us more details about uh what happens next to this passenger and uh i think eight other passengers that
02:21he was traveling with well yes absolutely uh we don't know yet as to what triggered the passenger to
02:27go for that and try to open the door but what was most interesting would be for the investigators to
02:33understand how he got the correct uh passcode to open uh and we try to open
02:38the door thankfully the uh the pilot uh in the cockpit didn't open the door uh thinking that it's an
02:44hijack situation and uh right now all of them are grounded handed over csf now a case will be
02:49registered in the relevant police station which will fall under bandlor airport uh police station
02:54and after that we put investigations to how this happened and majorly how he got the passcode
02:59and why they why they try to open the uh the cockpit door is what is it uh interesting right now for
03:05to know but at the moment none of which is coming forth the investigating saying that they have
03:09investigated the case they'll inform once the investigation is over right also uh this is
03:15going to be a cause of concern because imran in the recent past we have seen several such incidents
03:21uh emerging mid-air wherein a lot of passengers have tried to you know create trouble uh there was a
03:28case wherein somebody tried to open the door as well mid-air uh is there any specific regulation
03:34perhaps that we can expect now from the government side so that these kind of incidents do not happen
03:40repeatedly well adesh there are already protocols for it as far as these air safety is concerned and
03:48uh and we also know what whether there was a lapsus on the part of the uh the airlines staff there
03:55because clearly uh the situation must have escalated to the point that he will he tried to open the
04:00door and uh they're all whether this passenger will be uh uh blocked i mean from from flying
04:06further by the airlines right the airline has not given out details as they're saying that matters
04:11under investigation investigation over they will put out more details all right thank you very much
04:16imran for the moment for joining us with your inputs on this story let me also now go across to
04:21my colleague megna deka who joins us live from the newsroom megna over to you tell us what the
04:26airline has said in the statement well absolutely in fact this is uh he now the short statement coming
04:32in from the airline saying that we are aware of the media reports regarding an incident on one of our
04:37flights to waranasi where a passenger approached the cockpit area while looking for the lavatory
04:43saying that we reaffirmed that robust safety security protocols are in place and were not compromised
04:50at any time the matter was reported to the relevant authorities on landing and is currently
04:55under investigation of short but very decisive statement coming in from the airlines saying that
05:01yes indeed there was one passenger who approached the cockpit however all safety protocols are in place
05:07all right thank you very much for the moment for joining us with your inputs we'll come back to you
05:12for more on this uh let's now move on viewers and we have some breaking inputs coming in at this point in time
05:18you
