00:00If burnt roasties and lacklustre stuffing are enough to ruin your Sunday lunch,
00:05then spare a thought for the cast of the Anfield Apocalypse at Liverpool's Royal Court Theatre
00:11where protesters, a biotech lab and even a radioactive dog crash the dinner table.
00:17It's about this girl called Harriet and she's just moved in to her own flat.
00:21She's very proud of it and her and her boyfriend George have decided to set up a business
00:27and she really wants her mum and dad's approval so they invite them all round for Sunday dinner
00:33and they're having a Halloween party to launch this new business idea
00:37but then something is going on outside and it's about how the family deal with this unprecedented event.
00:48And it's also a big moment for local talent newcomer Georgia Taft
00:52who first appeared in the Royal Court's Community Chorus for Red or Dead
00:55now takes centre stage in a lead role, proving that the theatre isn't just a venue,
01:00it's a springboard for Scouse actors to shine.
01:03That was such an incredible experience as well.
01:06The people that I met, the community company were just the most incredible people
01:11hearing about their different life stories, one of them actually moving in with them.
01:16Yeah, we've just become such good friends.
01:18Alongside Georgia, the cast includes Lynn, Francis, Dylan Thomas-Smith and Liam Tobin
01:24all bringing the city's energy and humour to life on stage.
01:28It's literally just a dream come true.
01:30I've been doing acting from a very young age and the Royal Court has just always been such a big, big dream of mine.
01:38So it's just, it's just a pinch me moment, even being like sat on the stage and working with such incredible actors.

01:59From the chaos of Harriet's dinner to the antics outside, audiences are in for a wild, laugh out loud ride.
02:05The Anfield Apocalypse is a Scouse comedy and it's putting Liverpool lives on stage,
02:11whether it's us Scousers on the stage or the team backstage, doing the lights, the sound, the director, the writer.
02:19It's all Liverpool creatives.
02:23Something which the theatre's nailed over the years is showing that these productions aren't just about laughter,
02:29they're about connection, leaving audiences not only entertained,
02:33but proud to see their city's stories and people represented so vibrantly.
02:39For the theatre, thriving it's clear, Liverpool's art scene's never been more alive.
02:43It's just such, it's such a wonderful environment to be in
02:48and I'm so lucky to be surrounded by such incredibly talented Scousers.
