00:04But when one driver was pulled over for speeding in Colorado, he tried to blame his best friend,
00:10or rather man's best friend. According to a Facebook post by Springfield Police,
00:14an officer pulled over a driver who was going 52 in a 30 mile per hour zone.
00:18But when he pulled over, the officer watched the man switch seats with his dog.
00:22With the police department's post outlining, quote,
00:24the mail party then exited the passenger side of the vehicle and claimed he was not driving.
00:28The mail party showed clear signs of intoxication,
00:32with the post adding that when the officer asked the driver about drinking alcohol, he ran,
00:36though he was almost immediately apprehended.
00:38What's more, after running the man's ID, it was discovered he had two warrants out for his arrest.
00:43So what happened to his canine accomplice?
00:45Well, authorities say that while the man was jailed,
00:47the dog was given to an acquaintance while the man dried out.
00:49With the police department adding, quote,
00:51the dog does not face any charges and was let go with just a warning.
