06:16All right, good luck to both of you.
06:18Now, you have, Irina, 10 points.
06:20So you're in the lead.
06:20You pick that up in Melody Roulette.
06:22Mark, you have zero points.
06:24But I'll tell you, you can pick it up right here because it's time to play tune topics, which is worth 10 points.
06:30Now, let's find out.
06:31You ready?
06:31What is our topic for today?
06:36Things you put in your mouth.
06:38And, Mark, you can catch up right here.
06:40Okay, you can pick up the 10 points.
06:42We're ready.
06:43Listen carefully here is tune number one.
06:45Name that tune.
06:50Mark.

06:52Either one is right.
06:53You got it.
06:53The beer barrel polka.
06:54Roll out the barrel.
06:56You picked up one tune.
06:58You got the idea.
06:59You drink the beer.
06:59You put it in your mouth.
07:00Okay.
07:00All the time.
07:01All right.
07:02That's where we're going now.
07:03Things you put in your mouth.

07:07Name that tune.
07:07Roses and lollipops.
07:14Yeah, you got it backwards, but that's right.
07:16Lollipops and roses.
07:17You got both the words in there, and you have a tune.
07:21I don't know if you put roses in your mouth, but lollipops, you certainly do.
07:25And that is a point.
07:27It's one to one.
07:27Three to go.
07:28Things you put in your mouth.
07:29Remember, that is our category.
07:30Here is tune number three.
07:32Oh, put your little foot in.
07:46You know the kid's game.
07:47Put your little foot in.
07:48Put your little foot out.
07:49All right.
07:50And that's what you have.
07:51Well, you really haven't put your foot in, Mark.
07:53You didn't say anything.
07:54The score is still one to one.
07:56There are two more tunes remaining.
07:58And again, the category things you put in your mouth.
08:01Next, tune number four.
08:03Name that tune.
08:16Cool water.
08:17Cool water.
08:18Were you going to say that, Irina?
08:19You missed the buzzer anyway.
08:21All right.
08:22We're down to one tune.
08:23This is very close.
08:24You each have named one.
08:26There's one remaining in the regular game.
08:28Things you put in your mouth.
08:29Whoever gets this picks up the ten points.
08:31And a nice prize.
08:32Listen carefully and name that tune.
08:38Irina.
08:40Glorious food.
08:41You got it.
08:42And you have won.
08:44Two topics.
08:45Food, glorious food goes in your mouth, of course.
08:48Well, food does sometimes end up on your hips.
08:51What ended up on your scoreboard is another ten points.
08:54You now have 20.
08:55You're leading 20 to nothing.
08:56And you also want something else.
08:58What else did Irina win?
08:59Well, first of all, we have his and hers, Wimbledon tennis rackets.

09:22Furnished by the Camel Manufacturing Company.
09:24Congratulations.
09:25All right, that's for you.
09:26And you have 20 points.
09:27You're in the lead.
09:28But, Mark, don't despair.
09:29I mean it.
09:30Don't give up.
09:31Because the next round is worth 20 points.
09:33And you can tie this whole thing up.
09:35We'll be right back with Bit and Out after this.
09:40Some of our contestants will receive the following.
09:43Which swab has 50% more cotton right at the tip?

10:11Welcome back to Name That 2.
10:13Well, Irina, you have 10, 20 points.
10:17And you got that by winning both Melody Roulette and Tune Topics.
10:20And you've got yourself some prizes and some cash.
10:22And you've got a guy over here named Mark who is intent on catching you.
10:25Because, Mark, you have no points yet.
10:27But Bit and Out we're going to play is worth 20 points.
10:30So if you win this, we've got a tie and we'll have to go to a tiebreaker.
10:32So this is, as they say, your last chance.
10:35Good luck, Mark.
10:36When we play Bit and Out, you know how it works.
10:37I read clues to well-known tunes.
10:39And then you bid against each other as to how few notes it will take you to name that tune.
10:44The first player to score three tunes wins Bit and Out, picks up the 20 points.
10:47In this case, you'd tie it.
10:49And in this case, you would go on to the golden medley.
10:51You understand how we do this, okay?
10:53I'm going to read you your first clue.
10:54Listen very carefully.
10:56This popular American folk song is also the state song of Connecticut.
11:01And you won the last round, Irina, so you go first.
11:05I can name that tune in five notes.
11:09I can name that tune in four notes.
11:11Name that tune.
11:13All right.
11:13Gave you four big notes, Mark.
11:15Listen carefully.
11:16And here are your four notes.
11:22On top of Old Smokey.
11:23Oh, Yankee Doodle.
11:25Yankee Doodle.
11:28You picked up the point.
11:31That strategy worked.
11:32You got him down.
11:33Four notes.
11:34I thought he might get it with the four notes, but he didn't.
11:36So you picked up one tune.
11:38Score one tune for Irina.
11:39Mark, you can still do it.
11:40There are four more to go.
11:41Here's your next clue.
11:43In the minds of many people, this next Academy Award winning tune could be the description of Boy George.
11:50Okay?
11:51We start the bidding this time with Mark.
11:54I can name that tune in five notes.
11:56I can name that tune in four notes.
11:59Name that tune.
11:59This time, Irina, you get the four notes.
12:02Listen.
12:03Here are your four notes.
12:12Georgie girl.
12:14Georgie girl.
12:15This is a good boy George.
12:17Hi, you're cooking.
12:19You got one.
12:20Yes.
12:20You got one with strategy.
12:21Okay, you got her down.
12:22She couldn't name it.
12:23One apiece.
12:24Three to go.
12:25Getting close.
12:26Here's the next clue.
12:27Listen carefully.
12:28This 1959 American pop song was banned from British radio because its sad love story was considered too morbid.
12:37The bidding again starts with Irina.
12:40I can name that tune in four notes.
12:42Name that tune.
12:44You're giving her the four notes.
12:45All right, Irina.
12:47Listen carefully.
12:48Here are your four notes.
12:53Teen Angel.
12:55You got it.
13:02Well, wait a minute.
13:03Was it the melody, the notes, or the clue?
13:06What did it for you?
13:07I think it was Psychic.
13:09Psychic?
13:09It just came through?
13:10Yeah.
13:11Teen Angel.
13:11Was that one of your favorite songs?
13:13One of my very favorite songs.
13:13All right, 1959.
13:15And, Mark, you're in a little bit of trouble here.
13:17She has two.
13:18You have one.
13:19There are two remaining.
13:19You need both of them.
13:20If you get this next tune, Irina, you got it, and you're on to the golden medley and perhaps a chance for that $100,000.
13:27Here's your next clue.
13:28Listen carefully.
13:30This 1969 Stevie Wonder hit was dedicated to a French beauty.
13:36This time we start with Mark.
13:37I can name that song tune in five notes.
13:40I can name it in three.
13:42Name that tune.
13:43All right.
13:44The pressure is on you.
13:44Irina, if you name this tune in the three notes, you are going to go to the golden medley.
13:50Listen very carefully.
13:51Here are your three notes.
13:56My Sharia Moore.
13:57You did it!
14:02All right.
14:05You won a bit of note.
14:06You won it all.
14:07I tell you, Mark.
14:08Okay.
14:09I knew it after I said it.
14:10I know.
14:10You did a great job.
14:11It was tough.
14:12It really is tough.
14:13You got a tough competitor there.
14:14We have some prizes for you backstage.
14:16And, once again, thanks for playing.
14:18Thank you very much.
14:19And you did it.
14:20You won some more prizes.
14:21That's right.
14:22You won good enough.
14:23What else did Irina win for winning good enough?

14:48Welcome back to Name That Soon.
14:51Irina, this is it.
14:52You got a shot at it now.
14:53We're at the golden medley, seven tunes in 30 seconds.
14:57For each tune you name, you get $250 in prizes.
15:00But I'll tell you this.
15:01If you name all seven tunes, that's what you want to do.
15:04You will play in our monthly tournament of champions for $100,000 in cash and prizes.

THis aired in KYW Philly between April 19-May 27, 1985 IIRC(in NYC on WABC where NTT84 bowed a week earlier than it did in Philly it aired between April 12-May 20, 1885)
