A new chapter for Football Ultimate Team. In FC 26, FUT is changing based on how you play and what you’ve asked for.

New ways to compete with Live Events. Tournaments are back with knockout play. A new mode called Gauntlets brings all new challenges. Rivals and Champions are also getting big improvements.

For the first time, FUT will have tailor-made gameplay tuning in Competitive Gameplay, which adds more control, consistency, and responsiveness.

We’ve also made changes to Evolutions, match outcomes, and more, all based on your feedback. Let’s jump in.

00:00Here's what's new in Football Ultimate Team for FC26.
00:04An exciting expansion of FUT's competitive structure with live events, including gauntlets
00:09and the return of tournaments, introducing more ways to compete and earn rewards.
00:14A revamp of rivals and champs, including the removal of qualifiers and the addition of
00:19a second tier of Weekend League.
00:21Huge improvements to disconnects on draws, plus repeatable evos, and an overhauled gameplay
00:27experience, powered by community feedback and tuned specifically for Ultimate Team.
00:34Let's kick off with live events, a new home for a variety of competitions, starting with
00:39the return of tournaments.
00:41Backed by popular demand, tournaments are high-stakes knockout football at its best, with winners
00:46advancing and losers getting sent back to the lobby.
00:50Tournament matchmaking ensures you'll always face an opponent in the same round as you,
00:54guaranteeing intense matchups every step of the way.
00:58You'll compete for unique, tournament-specific rewards and have regular opportunities to
01:02experience the intensity and glory of knockout football throughout the season.
01:08Gauntlets are a new live event designed to test your club depth, making every one of your
01:12players more important and challenging your ability to compete with different squads.
01:16Each gauntlet consists of a set number of matches.
01:19But here's the catch, you must use a completely new squad every single match.
01:25Unlike tournaments, you won't get knocked out when you lose, but the more wins you get,
01:29the better your rewards will be.
01:31Live events are also replacing and reinventing friendlies.
01:35Live events, including gauntlets and tournaments, can have squad requirements, house rules and newly
01:41added entry requirements, allowing you to qualify for events by completing objectives, such
01:46as winning a qualifier tournament.
01:49We've also made big changes to rivals and champs based on your feedback.
01:53Bounties are the first huge addition to rivals.
01:56One game objectives that pop up every few matches and give you a chance at immediate rewards.
02:01Complete the challenge and you'll earn weekly reward points, accelerated progress, season pass
02:06points or even packs.
02:08Bounties won't always be about the win.
02:10With challenges like score the first goal giving you a chance to earn rewards regardless
02:13of the match result.
02:16Checkpoints have also been improved to help players who felt stuck in difficult divisions,
02:20with the addition of limited checkpoints, which allow relegation after a set number of losses.
02:25We heard your feedback and champions playoffs are no more.
02:29In FC26 you'll qualify for champions directly by reaching a high enough division and earning
02:34champions qualification points.
02:37And for those lower division players, we're introducing Challenges.
02:41A second tier of champions that allows people of different skill levels to experience the
02:45thrill of weekend league.
02:47But don't worry, champions will still be the pinnacle, with stiffer competition and better
02:52rewards.
02:53We're building on our improvements in FC25 regarding disconnects.
02:58We know your stance and we agree.
03:00Players shouldn't be able to take wins away from you by quitting early.
03:04We also know when these quits typically happen and when they're the most frustrating.
03:08Late in a game, after a red card or before a penalty.
03:12In FC26 if the score is tied and your opponent disconnects in any of these situations, not
03:17just by the menu but by any method, you will receive the win.
03:22Evolutions are changing based on your feedback as well.
03:25In FC26 some evos will be repeatable, similar to how it works with SBCs and objectives.
03:31Cosmetic evos will now also stack.
03:34And you'll be able to maintain the look of some evos so you can still boost the players'
03:37ratings without losing existing visuals.
03:40The Ultimate Edition comes with one extra evo slot, meaning you'll be able to evo two
03:44players at once from the very beginning of the year.
03:48We know these details matter and each will make the Ultimate Team experience better, but
03:52the most fundamental change and the one you've been the most vocal about is gameplay.
03:57Ultimate Team now has its very own gameplay experience called Competitive Gameplay.
04:02It's tuned to maximise three things, responsiveness, consistency and control, and it's designed
04:09to deliver the fast, dynamic and attacking football you've been asking for.
04:14We mentioned quicker passing, more fluid dribbling, fewer AI blocks and tackles, fewer bounce-backs
04:20and more responsive animations in our gameplay deep dive, but there are even more ways Competitive
04:25Gameplay is tuned for player control and responsiveness.
04:29You'll see fewer goals from Keeper rebounds.
04:31Although this happens in real life, we know it's a frustrating way to concede, and it feels
04:35out of your control.
04:36That's the exact feeling Competitive Gameplay is aimed at addressing.
04:40Player stamina is also being treated differently.
04:43As your players tire, they'll remain just as explosive and agile, but only when you're controlling
04:48them, to reward active defending and player switching.
04:51One-touch passes are also more responsive.
04:54Now, passes can sometimes be triggered in as little as one frame before receiving the
04:59ball, making your players more reactive to split-second decisions you make.
05:04Each of these changes makes the game feel more responsive and encourages you to be in control,
05:09which is the feeling we want you to have when you play Ultimate Team this year.
05:12Ultimate Team is about you, the players you love, your tactics, your favourite modes, the choices
05:18you make as you play, and we hope that by expanding FUT's competitive structure with more ways
05:23to compete, improving core parts of the FUT experience, and introducing competitive gameplay,
05:28that you'll feel in control, on and off the pitch.
