00:00Rangers have their first win of the Premiership season. It's taken them six attempts but after a late Max Ahrens goal they are finally off the mark. A 2-1 victory here over Livingston. An eventful afternoon in West Lovian. Rangers took the lead through James Tavernier on 22 minutes. Missed a penalty through the same man four minutes later. Dominated most of the first half but couldn't get a second goal and Livingston came right back at them.
00:27They played really well in the second period when Rangers tailed off, got their level of three Mozilla and to be honest you thought they were going to get a point and heap even more pressure if that's possible on Rangers manager Russell Martin. But in the fifth minute of stoppage time the unlikely source of Ahrens who came on in the second half and substitute drilling home from close range after James Tavernier Cora gave Rangers the win. It sparked wild scenes all around the stadium here at the home of the set fair arena but it didn't quell a chance against Russell Martin.
00:56Most Rangers fans still wanting him gone. In fact there was a remarkable scenes of where Rangers scored, celebrated and then most of the away fans burst into tradition calling for Martin to politely vacate the premises.
01:10There will be no taxi for him this week you'd imagine after this performance and result against Livingston.
01:17It's a rare weekend actually where Rangers gained ground on Celtic. They've trimmed the gap between them and the champions to seven points but they're still behind hearts by Niner leaders and you can only hope that this victory will give them some sort of momentum going forward in the league.
01:35There were times when Rangers played quite well especially in the first half they really should put the game to bed but Livingston keeper Jerome Pryor made some excellent saves not least from Tavernier in that penalty.
01:43It was the way they started the second half it was so limp and listless in comparison to the first so there's still clearly a lot of work to be done by Martin on this group of players.
01:53Nevertheless a win's a win it gives Rangers something to build upon and their fans while albeit still very unhappy can at least end their weekend or a slightly more positive note that this will be some weeks.
02:05They finished here at the home of the Set Fair Arena Livingston 1 Rangers 2.
